Weeks had passed since Uzushiogakure landed in Konoha, and the news soon began to spread throughout the ninja world. This left all the great nations quite worried.
Many nations were planning to take revenge on Konoha for what happened in Uzushiogakure, but the sudden gain in power that Konoha had at that moment, with not only Minato returning to the village along with the perfect Nine-Tails jinchuuriki and his wives, but also with the Uzumaki clan officially joining the Leaf Village itself, greatly increased Konoha's power.
To the point of making all the leaders of the nations think twice before actually starting the war they intended to wage.
How could they deal with such an enemy? Konoha's strength was far above what it used to be. And now there was no more hidden information, powers that had been concealed, like Minato's, who despite already standing out in the war, had not shown his full potential as happened in the Battle of Uzushiogakure.
The world could only fear.
In Suna, when they received the news, Rasa did not fail to show concern as he passed the information to all the elders.
Chiyo was among them. She hated Konoha. Despite not having participated in the Uzushiogakure war, she hated Konoha with all her strength. But the news about Minato also shook her like never before.
Minato Namikaze, the boy who invaded her hideout threatening her grandson at that time, injecting him with his own poison. Chiyo had no choice but to give in and hand over the antidote, an action that had changed the entire course of the war between Konoha and Suna at that moment. After that, Suna no longer had the advantage of their poisons, and they only managed to reverse that a little later, when they created a new poison. However, the damage had already been done and Konoha emerged victorious more than a year later.
At that time, the boy managed to escape from the hideout even alone and with the entire situation against him, he could have easily escaped with the space-time jutsu, but after obtaining prisoners of war belonging to Konoha, he had to protect them.
At that time, even the Third Kazekage, and even Rasa himself, along with many elite jonin and even Shukaku himself, were unable to stop him. The little boy was what? Fourteen, fifteen years old?
"If he could already do that at that age, what kind of monster do you think would grow?", Chiyo did not fail to speak among the village elders as they discussed what Minato had done against Suna even before killing the Third Kazekage himself years later.
Rasa did not fail to frown. And she was certainly right. Everyone saw that Minato Namikaze was a threat back then more than four years ago. They did everything to try to stop him while they still could, but in the end they failed. They were not even able to make the Hokage himself hand him over, or even kill him in the ambush they set. Quite the opposite — they suffered heavy losses.
And now they were facing that grown boy, with the power to fight all the elemental nations alongside his wives.
Even with four nations wanting to kill him with four kages and bijuus as they had planned before the attack on the Uzumakis, expecting the boy to be there, in the end that turned out to be the worst possible scenario.
A single family in Konoha could now decide whether a war would begin.
What kind of power is this?
It made them remember ancient times, when Rasa was a child and heard about the God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju, who could put all the villages in their proper places, preferring peace, with no one having the courage to start a war while he was at his peak.
A man who could capture all the bijuus and distribute them to maintain a balance of power among the nations.
He heard this from the older men with respect and even fear. Rasa could not help but wonder if they were once again in that era. A new symbol like the First Hokage had emerged in the world.
Konoha had too much power, standing far ahead of the other nations. Bijuus and Kage no longer seemed like enough.
Moreover, Konoha still had the Third Hokage alive, who despite having been removed from office and placed in a kind of ostracism by the village itself, still could not be discarded as part of Konoha's strength.
They had Sakumo Hatake, a kage-level ninja, which made Chiyo grit her teeth when remembering the man responsible for killing her son and his wife — Sasori's parents.
They also had two of the Legendary Sannins, since Orochimaru had left the village and been placed in the Bingo Book as a criminal by Konoha itself.
They also counted on several other ninjas who had gained prominence during the war and built a good reputation in the last three years since the end of the conflict.
Now, the other nations had lost practically half of their forces, some even most of them, with the disappearance of the bijuus and even the death of their leaders.
On the other hand, Konoha had a great addition of power: the power of the Uzumaki, which all nations were eager to possess, due to their sealing abilities and secrets. Not only were they no longer open to attacks, but they had also joined Konoha and now were part of the village.
And lastly, there was Minato, whom they were already discussing. A man who needed no comments.
"What will we do now, Kazekage-sama? We cannot continue with our plans. We cannot start a war with this level of power that Konoha possesses", Chiyo said, her voice firm, destroying the last year and a half of planning with the other nations about attacking Konoha together, creating a third war to seek revenge and financial compensation for what happened in Uzushiogakure, since they all blamed Konoha entirely for their failure.
Konohagakure handed Uzushiogakure over to be destroyed by the other nations — yet those who came to destroy it found forces capable of crushing them instead.
"We will have to abandon the plans", Rasa said in the end.
Despite the dissatisfaction, no one truly spoke against it. They knew Chiyo was right. They could not fight Konoha, even if all the nations united. They had already done that once and failed miserably, when the Uzumaki themselves were not even a major factor in their defeat. The Uzumaki were strong, but that specific group from Konoha was noteworthy.
"Perhaps we shouldn't make any decision now. How about proposing a meeting between the Kages and deciding what to do together?", one of the elders suggested.
Rasa nodded at the idea, it seemed quite reasonable.
They continued discussing for a while, and soon another matter arose: along with the concern of a possible war, there was also the problem of Shukaku.
They had lost him more than a year and a half ago, when he was targeted by Minato and teleported somewhere in the world. Suna had been searching for him ever since. The village no longer had its bijuu.
Which was extremely worrying, since they needed it to keep the village strong.
"There are still reports that he was taken to another continent, and rumors of his appearance two months ago in that region of the world have also surfaced. It shouldn't be long before our ninjas find him."
"You say that after we've been searching for a year and a half? I doubt that will happen so quickly. Our village lost a Kazekage and our bijuu in such a short time, and we have suffered because of it. The number of missions requested by clients from all over the world has decreased considerably, we are facing financial problems and all thanks to Konoha. We are not in a position to make demands."
"Even so, we can schedule the Kage meeting and decide what this hand will do together with the others. We should also focus our efforts on finding Shukaku before a possible war", the elder said.
Everyone seemed to agree with him.
The discussion continued, and some even wondered whether the Uzumaki might have already captured Shukaku when they returned to Konoha. It was a possibility, but only time would tell the answer. If they found no more traces, it would mean that Shukaku could be in Konoha.
Rasa left the building and returned home, tired. There were many disturbing and conflicting thoughts in his mind. He felt that Suna was trapped in chains that could not be easily broken. Before Konoha, they could only swallow their own frustration. That irritated him like never before. To think that he could do nothing, that he was weak after everything.
"Why are the greatest talents always in Konoha?", he could not help but vent.
It was not just a matter of Minato, but of all the talented ninjas who came from Konoha. With such a high birth rate of prodigies, obviously someone like Minato would eventually be born.
When he entered the house, he found his wife, Karura, preparing dinner. Near her there was a baby carriage with little Temari, a child who had been born a few months ago. "Dear, you're here!", she said with a smile, as she saw Temari raise her little hands toward her father upon seeing him, Rasa merely observed her in a somewhat colder manner. His wife was already used to her husband being a little distant, even with his own children.
"How are you?", he asked, approaching and studying her belly, while she smiled upon seeing his concern.
"I'm very well. If you want to know, our little Kankurou is growing healthily", she said proudly, in a tone full of love for the unborn child.
"You still insist it's a boy?", he asked, not failing to show a small smile.
"He is a boy, I'm sure of it", she said with conviction. "Just like I knew Temari was a girl. You can't underestimate a mother's instincts."
"Then I'll believe you", he simply replied. Then he stepped away. "I'll go to the office. I need to take care of a few more things. I'll be back for dinner", he said.
She wanted him to stay a little longer, but she could not demand that from him either. He was the Kazekage. She only watched him leave the kitchen, while Temari seemed a little hurt for not receiving even a touch from her father.
"Calm down, dear. Your daddy is quite busy", the woman said, trying to soothe the child, who was about to cry.
At that moment, the doorbell rang. The woman could not help but raise an eyebrow, already knowing who it was.
"Well, your father may not have spoiled you, but I'm sure the other one will", she commented, walking to the door and opening it.
On the other side was a young man who looked very much like her. It was Yashamaru, her younger brother.
"Onee-san", he said with a smile.
"Hello, little brother. I'm glad you came for dinner", she said, letting him in.
He went straight to Temari, picking her up and smiling.
"Look at her, she's getting so big", he said, while the little girl began to smile and make small sounds of joy.
Karura could not help but smile as she saw her younger brother getting along so well with her daughter. She hoped that if one day she was no longer there, he could take care of them — both Temari and Kankurou, and even other children who might still come.
Rasa could be quite indifferent, even with his own children, but she knew that her brother would not let them lack love if she were not there.
