Jiraiya didn't think twice. He quickly dodged, moving out of the line of attack, while the enormous spinning sphere with chakra blades passed by him before continuing toward the forest. Naruto hadn't thrown it at full speed. It had been launched with the intention of allowing Jiraiya to evade it, obviously; his goal was only to show the results of his training.
Everyone stood frozen, watching as the Rasenshuriken advanced toward the treetops, still trying to understand how Naruto had managed to accomplish something like that.
The moment it entered the forest, a few seconds passed before everything began to shine. An intense mass of light blinded anyone looking in that direction. Then the explosion erupted, just as powerful as the Rasenshuriken Naruto had thrown at Kakuzu, knocking him away before exploding into a gigantic crater. It vaporized everything in its path, while the shockwave rapidly swept across the entire Training Field.
"Hey... Hey, hey! Are you seriously throwing that at me?" Jiraiya stared at the explosion with a lost expression, unable to stop himself from shivering a little.
Not even Tsunade and Kakashi could hide their astonishment when they realized the entire village would notice it. With the deafening blast and the brilliant light of the jutsu, everyone had probably already turned their heads toward this area...
"Fox! Don't let any curious onlookers approach the site. This place is closed for private training under the Hokage's supervision, understood?!" Tsunade immediately ordered the ANBU who were already in position. Even though she was just as astonished as all the hidden ninja around the training field, she needed to focus on her job. The ANBU quickly spread out to prevent anyone from getting close.
Naruto watched all of this without concern, wearing only a solemn expression as his hair swayed in the wind. He could sense Sai and Sakura's shock, as well as Kakashi's and Tsunade's, but he soon turned his attention back to his challenger, while Jiraiya still stood there in a daze.
"So now you can throw it..." Jiraiya muttered, turning his gaze back to Naruto, while all that remained of that part of the forest was an enormous cloud of dust and a gigantic crater that was slowly becoming visible.
"That won't hurt me if I simply throw it at the enemy. As long as it doesn't touch my own skin, the chakra needles produced by the Rasenshuriken won't affect me." Naruto explained as he raised his hand, opening and closing his palm.
"Well... That's an efficient solution. But not just anyone can achieve that level of chakra control." Jiraiya had to praise him.
Naruto looked at him more seriously. "I think it's time to demonstrate my final strength, right?" he said in an equally serious tone.
"You still have more?" Jiraiya asked with a nervous laugh. He had already seen adamantine chains, wood clones, Hiraishin, Sage Mode, exceptional sensory abilities, and even an S-Rank jutsu unleashed by Naruto. Was there still more?
"Of course. Didn't you already notice the absence of the seals on my stomach before?" Naruto smiled.
Jiraiya swallowed hard. Of course. The absence of the seal meant Naruto now had complete control over the Nine-Tails.
Jiraiya could already imagine all that crimson chakra bursting out of Naruto's body, forming multiple tails or even shaping the head of a Tailed Beast, just as he had seen many jinchūriki do before.
Once, while serving as a jōnin leading a team, he and his squad had been cornered by the two jinchūriki from the Hidden Stone Village. Both had molded their chakra into the heads of the Four-Tails and the Five-Tails, preparing to fire Tailed Beast Bombs at them. If Minato hadn't gotten them out of there in time, they all would have died, left only to watch from afar as the massive explosion vaporized everything.
Naruto said nothing else. He simply closed his eyes.
The others also remained silent. Tsunade had already signaled the ANBU to erect a silent barrier around the training field, something that had been agreed upon ever since Naruto revealed that he no longer had the Fox's seal in his body and that his chakra alone could throw the village into a panic.
The next instant, Naruto began to shine. An intense golden light enveloped his entire body before his transformation began.
But the transformation most of them expected never happened. Even Yamato had to admit that if he hadn't already known about Naruto's next transformation, he would have believed Naruto was about to become that four-tailed crimson creature they had fought at Tenchi Bridge.
In any case, Naruto completed the transformation quickly. Instead of using the Fox's raw chakra, his body became enveloped in a golden cloak that resembled clothing. A long overcoat appeared over his body, accompanied by a cape, while brilliant yellow chakra radiated intensely around him.
Jiraiya blinked several times, just like everyone else who had never seen that form.
"What... is this transformation?" Jiraiya murmured.
Tsunade snorted before breaking into a small smile. "So this is Jinchūriki Mode..."
Naruto turned toward her and nodded. "Yes. This is the complete jinchūriki mode. It's not just me stealing my Bijū's chakra after suppressing her. This is a partnership that transformed us into this. I can fight normally as a human while having all of Kurama's power and energy surrounding me. Of course... this still isn't my transformed form. I can still transform into her..." Naruto explained.
Jiraiya scratched the back of his head, completely intrigued. He then walked over to Naruto and began observing him carefully, circling him as he examined every detail. At one point, he extended a finger and cautiously touched the chakra cloak itself.
"It's warm... I suppose this is protecting you. You probably can't even feel my touch."
"I can simply punch Tailed Beast Bombs coming straight at me, Jiraiya-sensei. In this state, you can throw dangerous jutsu at me, and this cloak will protect me. It's much stronger than the raw chakra cloak," Naruto explained.
The chakra remained completely stable until Naruto decided to demonstrate another characteristic.
Suddenly, a powerful wave of chakra exploded around his body. Jiraiya, who was standing right beside him, was thrown backward by the pressure alone. The force of the impact sent him sliding several meters away, while the entire ground shook and a fierce wind swept across the Training Field.
"I thought we were still fighting," Naruto teased with a smile, while Jiraiya stared at him in utter disbelief.
'You want me to fight that? You did all this just by releasing chakra... If I don't use Sage Mode, I don't stand the slightest chance.' Jiraiya couldn't help complaining inwardly, completely indignant.
Naruto didn't even give him a chance to react. The next instant, he vanished.
Jiraiya barely managed to see the attack. Naruto appeared right in front of him and delivered a kick. Jiraiya managed to raise his arms at the very last second before being violently sent flying backward.
"That was almost like teleportation..." Kakashi murmured in disbelief. Even he couldn't keep up with that speed.
"Yes, but even I have to admit he didn't use Hiraishin... That was pure speed," Tsunade said reluctantly, though she remained completely focused. Not even she would be able to deal with that, and Naruto clearly hadn't wanted to land a direct hit, allowing Jiraiya to defend himself.
Jiraiya could almost feel his own bones cracking from the collision. He reacted quickly when he realized Naruto had disappeared again. The very next instant, Naruto was already behind him.
As Jiraiya dodged to the side, the chakra cloak reacted on its own. A massive golden arm emerged, forming a powerful fist that struck Jiraiya with tremendous force, sending him flying several meters away.
Jiraiya coughed up blood as he hit the ground. A moment later, the fist retreated back into the cloak as though it had never existed.
"He can shape the chakra like that too...? At this rate, there's no angle from which he can't attack," Kakashi commented, no longer sure whether he should even continue being surprised by everything he was witnessing.
Jiraiya struggled to his feet. He was fortunate that Naruto hadn't continued his assault while he wiped the blood from his mouth and nose.
'That punch landed squarely... I keep wondering... What kind of monster did that Minato from the other world become to make him this strong? And Naruto even said he wouldn't stand a chance against that Minato...' Jiraiya analyzed the situation, but not for long.
The next instant, several Adamantine Chains erupted beneath Jiraiya, completely wrapping around his body. The golden chains bound him from every direction, forcing him to his knees as they suppressed his chakra, coiling tightly around him.
"Looks like I won," Naruto said.
Tsunade stepped closer, carefully examining the situation. "You weren't keeping chains beneath his feet like last time."
"Ah... Earlier, I left a few tips of the chains underground with a portion of the Bijū's chakra flowing through one of them. They stayed there. When I activated them, several chains shot out at the same time toward my target. It's like a bomb. The goal is to catch the enemy by surprise," Naruto explained.
He had previously sent one of his Adamantine Chains underground and broken off its tip while infusing it with chakra. The severed tips remained buried beneath the earth, storing a large amount of chakra underground. At the right moment, that chakra erupted beneath his enemy, instantly creating multiple chains.
It was a trick Naruto had learned as one of his final lessons. Not even his mother was capable of doing that... It worked like planting multiple bombs across the battlefield. This technique had been developed specifically to deal with Obito, taking advantage of the moments when he became vulnerable and could no longer use his intangibility.
With a simple command, Naruto made the chains disappear. Jiraiya panted for a few moments. His body was still wrapped in the chains, making him look like a metal mummy.
Naruto offered him a hand. Jiraiya looked at it for a moment before accepting it, a faint smile appearing on his face.
"So this is how a student surpasses his teacher..." Jiraiya murmured.
Before he could say anything else, Naruto surprised him by releasing a healing energy over his body. The internal and external injuries from the fight quickly began to heal, restoring Jiraiya's body.
"You're... a medical ninja too?" Tsunade asked, raising an eyebrow.
Naruto turned to look at her.
"Well, I have three different sources of healing. The first is the Uzumaki's natural chakra, which has now become much stronger. That alone already puts me above anyone using ordinary medical ninjutsu, except for you. Even above Sakura." Naruto raised one finger.
"The second is the Fox's chakra, which has always healed me. My mother, in the other world, also discovered how to use it to enhance that ability even further." Then he raised a second finger.
"And the third is Mokuton. Just like yours, it also possesses regenerative abilities." Finally, he raised a third finger as he explained.
At that moment, his Chakra Mode slowly began to fade. Tsunade stared at Naruto for a few seconds. Then he simply scratched the back of his head and gave a small smile.
"Damn it, kid... You've become even more irritating now," she muttered before finally laughing.
"Are you jealous, Tsunade?" Jiraiya teased. He stepped forward and gave Naruto a few pats on the back. "Look, Tsunade... Isn't this exactly what we wanted? This is the boy who's going to protect the Leaf. The next Hokage."
Jiraiya said those words without the slightest doubt.
They had been surpassed.
Although only a week had passed for them, nearly six months had gone by for Naruto. A blessing no one could deny.
Naruto had become the strongest among everyone present. And he hadn't even used Kurama's complete transformation, as he had mentioned.
On top of that, he still carried all the information he had obtained in that other world. At that moment, even Yamato realized that the Minato of that world possessed far more knowledge than he and Naruto had imagined. It was clear that Minato had had no intention of answering any questions about certain subjects while they were there; otherwise, he wouldn't have left everything in a scroll. Even so, that information remained extraordinarily valuable, though the extent of all that knowledge was still a mystery.
There had been names, organizations, and secrets hidden in the shadows all along. Enemies who were still alive, manipulating the world from behind the scenes.
Threats they didn't even know existed. And perhaps the most troubling of all... enemies hiding among their own allies.
"Jiraiya-sama is right, all of that was incredible, Naruto!" Sai couldn't help but praise him as he approached.
Sakura, on the other hand, simply looked at Naruto, not knowing what to say.
That Naruto was far too strong. So different, so mature, that even she no longer knew how to act around him. And Naruto certainly no longer showed any intention of behaving as he once had, much less of remaining interested in her.
In any case...
"I imagine you already have some plans," Naruto asked suddenly. He wanted to know what their next move would be.
Now that they knew the extent of his true strength, were they planning to send him after the Akatsuki?
At that moment, Naruto was completely confident that he could defeat any enemy. Even the one responsible for his parents' deaths and for the Nine-Tails' attack.
He wanted to face Obito.
