Merlin was supposed to be crowned right after Isdis, but instead of doing that, they got busy with the entire orc mess aftermath, which kept her occupied for a long time. She didn't care at all about the ceremony, as she was a wizard and preferred to stay inside her lab working on spells, but as a queen, she had to get one publicly for the masses.
She was much like Merida, who loved to swing her hips on Arad's waist more than looking like a queen, and so that was what she was doing now. Finally getting a chance to relax and wind down, Merlin immediately hopped onto Arad in the middle of the bath to play a bit, and he didn't mind her at all.
