Chapter 418 - Story 26 Super Gene Ascension Chapter 11

After several hours, I exhaled heavily as the tinges of black energy left from my arms. Unlike in One Piece, where Haki was supposedly invisible, with actual spirit energy within myself. I could see the flickers of Armament Haki, I was barely able to call up.

'Having the training memories of Garp makes it conceptually so much easier to actually wrestle up the will to conjure up the Haki. Though unlike Garp himself, I am better suited to Observation Haki honestly.' I mused as I put on a new set of clothes after taking a quick shower at the gym.

With that, I looked over at my phone with a small exhale, leaving me. As I was now supposed to go help Yang Manli to go tell Han Sen's mother, that her son was dead.

Oh fucking joy.

Yang Manli was leaning slightly on her private car outside of the gym, and seeing me. She gave a small smile before her expression became slightly stiff as she spoke. "Thank you for coming Jake, I always hate doing this, even if it's needed."

I nodded in agreement, as telling someone that their family was dead... Was painful to say the least.

We then got into her car, and as we were heading over to the Han Sen's previous house. We talked about the Sacred Blood Creature we were going to hunt with Qin Xuan and her group.

"The Sacred Blood Creature we plan to hunt, is a Tyrant Centaur, which is the sole male leader of the otherwise all-female Roaming Centaur race of monsters. Along with the Sacred Blood meat we can get from the alpha, we can also get a good amount of Mutant tier meat from the Roaming Centaur's." Yang Manli spoke.

I raised an eyebrow at the thought of a centaur, so I asked. "How intelligent are these monsters? And do they actually have human features like a centaur from myth?"

Yang Manli sniffed and said with some amuesment. "They have at best the same intelligance as an ape. They do have some tool creation abilities as the alpha has a giant wooden spear it made from a tree's trunk. But as for appearance wise? Their facial features aren't very human frankly."

I shrugged and said calmly. "Wasn't asking out of pity or anything. I just know in the second Sanctuary, we run into fairies that do in fact have human level intelligance, and can fuck us over with their tamed monsters."

My companion nodded with a scowl appearing on her expression before she shook her head. "Fair enough. Now, Jake do you want to take the lead in speaking to Miss Sen? Or do you need me to?"

I sighed at that change of subject and I said bluntly. "Yeah, I explain. I was the last one to see him, so it's the least I can do."

There was a pause, and then Yang Manli's car came to a stop with her saying quietly. "Well, here we are then. Come on Jake."

Han Sen's house was a rather older house. But still of decent size and in a nicer neighborhood. Which made sense with how his in-law's wanted to snatch his family's property.

Without another word, we walked up to the door and feeling Yang Manli's gaze on my back. I took her hidden message to go ahead, and I rapped my knuckles on the door after ringing the doorbell.

And all too soon, a late teenage woman with dark purple hair and purple eye's opened the door. Making me blink as she was wearing a midriff exposing shirt that clung to her ample curves and a pair of short shorts. "Uhh hello? May I help you?" The teenager asked curiously.

"Uhh, yeah. I am hoping to speak with Han Sen's parents? Is this his home?" I spoke more formally as I got over my surprise at seeing the rather scantily clad girl.

The girl in the door blinked before she gave a small grin and said. "Ah my name is Han Yan, are you friends of my older brother? He has been acting rather weird lately but yeah come on in, I can get my mom actually."

She then let us in suprisingly without any major fuss. She then brought us to a small living room, and then said she was going to go get her mother from upstairs. And a couple of minutes later Han Sen's mother came downstairs.

"Hello, my name is Luo Sulan. I heard you wished to speak to me about my son?" Luo Sulan spoke in a soft tone and... Damn, despite this awkward as fuck meeting. I coudn't help but note very easily that Han Sen's mom was fucking georgeos to say the least.

As she had lighter purple hair and more violet colored eye's than the purple Han Sen, and Han Ya had. But still. I refocused from the beautiful woman and spoke formally.

"Miss Sulan, my name is Jake Bariss. I am also part of Qin Xuan's Steel Legion. Unfortunately, while I was doing a private hunt, during the night. An extremely powerful beast that has caused a lot of trouble for our shelter, took the life of your son Han Sen." I spoke as respectfully as I could.

But for a brief moment, I shivered as a heavy weight fell on my shoulders as Luo Sulan's eye's became icy as she gazed at me. And I held in my reaction at the wrath and fury of someone from the third Sanctuary falling on me.

Her gaz,e however was broken as Han Yan's weak voice spoke in clear depression. "Are you serious? How do you know? How are you so sure that he is dead?"

I swallowed and, after taking a breath. I said firmly. "I know for a fact that he is dead... That tiger broke through several hunting parties with people had maxed out all their geno points except for Sacred Blood Geno points and were even armed with Sacred Blood weapons."

I shook my head and said more quietly. "I am sorry. But he didn't make it."

There was a heavy pause before Luo Sulan spoke quietly. "Where were you in all of this? Were you part of the same hunting party as him? No you said you were hunting solo. Well?" She demanded more at the end.

I sighed and met her violet eye's before I said. "I was in a cave hidden in a rock face to get away from the predators roaming the night. And I saw him running past my cave and making a lot of noise before I could hear the tiger... Dealing with him."

There was a heavy pause as Luo Sulan looked into my eye's to see the truth. Before she nodded slowly with her eye's cold, and she gave her daughter and Yang Manli a look who was still silent for some reason.

I thought I was supposed to lead in this situation, not do the entire report of loss of kin. But I certainly wasn't going to say anything now.

But then Han Yan audibly swallowed back a sob and said with a determined voice filled with tears. "I... I am going to make my way to the Black Steel Shelter, and then I am going to kill that tiger!"

And there was a hint of something in her mother's eye's at that. That made me think that trouble was going to come my way in the worst way obviously.

But I was saved by Yang Manli who finally spoke sharply. "Then you better prepare yourself. As the most talented youth's and whole parties have been slaughtered or greatly injured trying to kill that beast."

"I will keep an eye on my daughter... Now, if you will both excuse me. I need time to process this. However-" Luo Sulan's cold eyes raked over my form, and I felt her somehow gazing through me before she spoke again.

"If I have any important questions Jake, may I get your email to send them to you?" She asked quietly.

I nodded slowly, and I told her my email so she could message me if she needed. And then we were politely but firmly escorted out of the house. Leaving me and Yang Manli to stare at one another before the black haired beauty said bluntly.

"This is why I hate these reports... It's the most awkward and painful thing to do in this world."
