Afterward, Fang Li took out the Healing Jewel and treated both his own injuries and Kanzaki's.
There was no helping it.
Sylvia's abilities were virtually omnipotent, yet healing was one thing they did not include.
Although Index possessed countless spells within her mind, she herself could not use magic.
As for Stiyl, he could only treat injuries such as burns and was practically clueless when it came to proper healing.
Thus, Fang Li used the items he had on hand to treat both himself and Kanzaki.
Even the Healing Jewel alone was insufficient to completely restore their injuries.
Fang Li's case was manageable. His wounds were not especially severe; he had merely lost too much blood, so the Healing Jewel was enough to deal with it.
Kanzaki, however, was different.
Although Fang Li had deliberately held back during the final strike, preventing the blow of 'Extreme Death - Seven Nights' from landing directly on Kanzaki's body and killing her on the spot, her injuries were still far from light.
The kick Fang Li had landed on her was not much of a problem, but after releasing the power of her Stigma, the accumulated burden had already caused considerable internal damage within Kanzaki's body.
In the end, to fully heal both of them, Fang Li not only used the Healing Jewel but also consumed recovery-type potions before they finally managed to recover.
Only then did everything truly come to an end.
After that, Kanzaki honored her promise and handed over the Original Grimoire inherited by the Amakusa-Style Remix of the Church to Fang Li.
That action seemed to be judged as a genuine admission of defeat, causing the System Notification to arrive belatedly.
"Serial Number 11273 has completed the B-Rank Side Quest. Obtained 30,000 Exchange Points."
"Serial Number 11273 has completed all Main Quests. You may now choose to return to the Main God's Dimension at any time, or remain within the Dungeon World."
"If you choose to return, Quest evaluation and reward distribution will commence."
"If you choose to remain, you may stay in the Dungeon World for an additional three days."
After an entire year, Fang Li and Sylvia had finally completed all of their Main Quests.
This also meant that they had completed the second of their Promotion Quests.
Next, all they needed to do was return to the Main God's Dimension, clear the Tower of Trials, and fulfill the requirements of the final Promotion Quest. Then both Fang Li and Sylvia would break past their limits and reach the Third Rank simultaneously.
At that point, their strength would undergo another tremendous leap.
However, Fang Li and Sylvia tacitly chose to remain behind at the same time.
Not for any other reason, but simply because of the people around them.
Sylvia's situation was not much of an issue. Her contract had already expired, and she had previously hinted at retirement during the press conference. Even if she suddenly disappeared for a while, it would not matter much. She only needed to request leave from school.
Fang Li likewise needed to request leave from school and also handle some unresolved matters.
For example, arranging things for Index.
Otherwise, once Fang Li and Sylvia left, setting aside how anxious Index would become, the problem of food expenses alone would probably cause this helpless gluttonous girl to starve to death inside Fang Li's dorm room.
Three days was just enough time to settle everything afterward.
Perhaps the Main God's Dimension had included the option to remain behind precisely because it had taken such considerations into account.
Unfortunately, if it were other Main God's Envoys, they would probably use the extra time to complete additional quests and obtain more rewards instead of dealing with ordinary cleanup matters.
But Fang Li and Sylvia clearly did not care about such things.
Thus, Fang Li, Sylvia, and Index left directly together and returned to Academy City.
Only Kanzaki and Stiyl remained behind, still staying at the scene amidst the charred land riddled with scars.
Stiyl was silently staring at the enormous gash that had split the entire scorched earth in two.
"Phew…"
Exhaling the smoke from his mouth, Stiyl spoke to Kanzaki.
"You suddenly disappeared, and the United Kingdom has already fallen into chaos. The Royal Family even wanted to dispatch the Knight Regiment to bring you back. You should understand why things turned out this way, right?"
Stiyl's words were met only with Kanzaki's silence.
"A Saint is equivalent to a nuclear weapon in the Magic Side. Something like that obviously isn't something another country can casually possess. If things go badly, it could trigger not just diplomatic problems, but even war." Ignoring Kanzaki's silence, Stiyl continued bluntly, "Last time, it was because of the Index Librorum Prohibitorum situation. Since the United Kingdom placed great importance on that matter, they negotiated with Academy City and allowed you to move freely here. But this time is different."
It was not merely an issue between nations; the United Kingdom itself also contained enormous internal instability.
The current United Kingdom was, in reality, controlled by three mutually balancing factions.
One was the Royal Family Faction, composed of the Queen of England and the Parliament under her control.
One was the Knight Faction, composed of the Knight Leader and the knights under his command.
And one was the Puritan Faction, composed of the Archbishop and the followers of the Anglican Church.
These three factions kept one another in check.
The Royal Family Faction controlled the Knight Faction through royal commands.
The Knight Faction made use of the Puritan Faction through matters of national governance.
The Puritan Faction manipulated the Royal Family Faction through the Church's counsel and admonitions.
The three sides restrained one another. If any one faction attempted to force through policies unilaterally, the other two would obstruct its implementation through various indirect means.
Furthermore, the United Kingdom itself was a union formed from four cultures: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
Even within the same faction, members of the English branch and the Welsh branch might clash with one another.
Conversely, even if they belonged to different factions, if both were from the Scottish branch, they might secretly cooperate behind the scenes.
Three factions and four cultures.
This intricate web of mutual restraint made the United Kingdom an exceptionally complicated nation.
And since Kanzaki belonged to the Anglican Church, she naturally fell under the Puritan Faction.
"But because you left the United Kingdom without authorization, the Knight Faction, which keeps our Puritan Faction in check, is making a huge issue out of it. They even tried to use it as leverage to force us to hand over the Index Librorum Prohibitorum," Stiyl said indifferently. "For that reason, ignoring the Puritan Faction's objections, they dispatched a Knight Regiment to attack the Amakusa-Style and take that child away. If Lady Diva hadn't suddenly appeared and defeated both the Knight Faction's people and the Roman Catholic Church's forces, that child might already have been taken away."
Kanzaki unconsciously clenched her fists.
Then she took a deep breath.
"Don't worry. I'll take responsibility for everything," Kanzaki said calmly. "I won't allow the Knight Faction to trouble those people."
No matter what, Sylvia had helped the Amakusa-Style and had done Kanzaki a great favor, while Index was also an important friend to Kanzaki.
There was no way Kanzaki would allow the Knight Faction to retaliate against Sylvia or take Index away.
Of course, even if they wanted to do that, they would still need Fang Li's permission first.
"This time, we managed to absorb Orsola and the Amakusa-Style into our side, so it wasn't a complete loss. Because of that, the Archbishop has already helped resolve these troubles for you," Stiyl said in a matter-of-fact tone. "But there's no guarantee the Knight Faction won't continue targeting that child. We need to leave quickly and stop giving them excuses."
Naturally, Kanzaki had no objections.
"Oh, right."
Before leaving, Stiyl suddenly asked:
"Was that your doing?"
What he referred to was naturally the terrifying sword scar stretching across a two-kilometer radius.
And Kanzaki's answer could only be one thing.
"No."
And so, Kanzaki and Stiyl departed.
