Agawa and Ayase looked towards the direction of where the sound came from, and they were flabbergasted to see Daichi with his head down and a palm print on his face and Miya with rage all over her face who was trying to smack Daichi again but was stopped by her friend Airi but she still couldn't closed her mouth which was spouting hundreds of vulgarities not that she wanted to she too was looking at Daichi with an infuriated expression not just her most of their classmates nearby were also looking at him with unfriendly faces. Agawa and Ayase who were confused, were about to ask the crux of the matter when Miya screams, informed them of all they wanted to know.
"Where is she? What did you do with Kei?"
Listening to her frantic screams. People who didn't know anything finally understood her reasons and they too looked around to see Kei missing from their group, confused they all too looked at Daichi with confused expression and gazes full of curiosity Ayase listening to commotion too looked around unable to find Kei as if by a jolt understanding something she looked at Kenji who too got jolted out of his pondering expression due to Miya's screams he too made eye contact with Ayase and understanding her intentions shrugged and with a frustrated expression looked at Daichi and asked with an authoritative tone.
"What Happened!"
Listening to Kenji's voice everyone stopped their murmuring and looked at him. Daichi, who was subjected to Kenji's voice and his classmates gazes couldn't take the pressure and hurriedly blurted out.
"We…We were trapped by those skeletons and Kei was unconscious I couldn't fight them all and was attacked from the back which caused Kei to be drooped from my arms I tried to protect her but they took advantage of that moment to group up on me successfully separating us I did all I could but there was just so many of them" saying up to here Daichi kneeled down and started whimpering and continued in a broken voice.
"I…I t…truly did what I could but I just wasn't strong enough" listening to him till now, everyone present had already made their assumption, but they didn't dare believe it. Miya on the other hand didn't care at all about him. She couldn't give two shits about what happened to him. The only thing she cared about was the whereabouts of her friend who at that moment could be all alone and facing the dire threats of those undead skeletons. With frustration laced in her voice she spoke.
"What then? Is she alright? Where is she? tell me…I will go get her myself"
Daichi didn't reply and only looked at the ground with a blank gaze like he was broken which increased Miya's frustration just as she was about to blow up, he finally spoke.
"As she was unconscious, she couldn't protect herself from those vile skeletons and because of the continuous attack I wasn't able to reach her…"
Listening to him, everyone's expression turned grave they all felt chills up their spine as Kei was the strongest amongst them and there would be a chance of survival if she was conscious but even if she was strong there was no point if she couldn't use her powers. She was like any other meat to be butchered. Daichi, who couldn't hear his classmates judgmental gazes continued.
"As, she got surrounded by those undead skeletons I couldn't help her and seeing the situation I felt it best to come for help first" afterwards he looked towards Agawa and said in a pitying voice.
"You have to help her she is all alone out there, if only I was more powerful but please you have to do something."
