Chapter 18 - Chapter fourteen

Even though the space for eating did not have any special decoration, the female guests still admired it—because this common style brought relaxation to their eyes.

In the room, the eaters sat around the square table that had a suitable size for everyone to pick up food without knocking hands. Because Lantian knew that Ehuang did not want to sit near Caihong and also Caihong did not wish to stay beside her eldest sister, she separated the girls by preparing the eldest to sit near to her brother and the second to sit between Liqing and Li Ai. Within such preparation, the younger girl looked at ease. She had a good appetite, and this made the lips of the female senior expand very wide.

After the meal, the possessors of the grove freed the guests to enjoy the resort by themselves. Like at the Central Pagoda's lake, Ehuang controlled the son of Wu very much. She asked Longwei to walk her to visit his property, and because the male was a gentleman, he did not refuse and agreed to help the pretty woman to tour around the grove. Walking behind the couple was Xiaojie, who puffed out her chest like a guard of the queen. Her way of looking at all the half-sisters of her mistress was annoying. However, Liqing, Li Ai, and Lifen did not mind the low girl of her eldest sister; they enjoyed happily under the high green bamboo.

Talking about Caihong, she did not go to join any of the groups. She decided to have leisure alone on a huge balcony next to the dining room. This was the period when she was very relaxed. The lassie felt this was an opportunity in her life that she had to capture—after she arrived home, she wouldn't know when she could visit such nature again.

Under the shade, while she was absorbing the natural oxygen into her lungs, a voice appeared.

"Why do you stay here? My brother is over there."

Immediately, Caihong turned her face, and when she perceived it was the daughter of Wu, she dropped her chest and exhaled.

'Why does she brother me?' She thought.

Seeing the expression of the younger girl, Lantian realized that she did not feel happy to see her, but she could not help it; she wanted to stay near her. She walked to stay close; then the younger woman withdrew her body to keep a wide space between them.

"I think you are pretty as well," Lantian stated. "You might have a chance to win over my brother. My second bro's mind is soft. Just smiling at him, speaking sweetly, and paying attention to him is enough."

It was disturbing to hear the same boring words.

"You are not bored?" Caihong said, knitting her eyebrows.

Lantian shook her head with a smile. "No, I'm not."

"But I'm bored," Caihong said, spinning to eye the woman. "You speak many times, and I also confirm many times as well that I am not interested in Young Master Wu. So, please stop bothering me."

The daughter of the mayor grinned. "I want to believe you, but it is hard to convince myself when I experienced it once," she said.

Hearing the sentence made the juvenile remember the day in the park. She sensed Lantian was trying to say that she had hidden from her about her surname, so she still believed she was not telling the truth related to her feelings towards her elder brother. Actually, the fault could not be laid on her. Though she was not commanded to not expose her identity, she would not tell about her family to the stranger. However, she thought that the daughter of the high minister was holding a grudge against her; that was why she did not allow her to be in peace. So, if she showed her sincerity, she might reduce her annoyance, and she would not disturb her anymore.

After thinking, Caihong decided to clarify, "On that day, I didn't mean to hide, but we just met, and I did not know who you were, so... But I tell the truth. I don't want to compete or have regard for your brother."

"Really?"

The voice and glance of the elder female were full of teasing, making the eyebrows of the younger girl tie together; even her teeth were clenched against each other. However, she tried to calm down and expressed with a smile, "No."

"True?" Lantian cocked her head.

Could not hold on anymore. Caihong released her teeth and vocalized, "Yes, true. How many times do I have to say it to make you believe me? I don't have interest in your brother, I don't want to get married to him, and I don't love him."

Actually, the last sentence was what Lantian was eager for, but she didn't feel it was enough yet. She gave her face close to Caihong's and said, "If you don't love my brother, then you love me."

The sentence made the second daughter of Yang pull her face further and open her eyes big. "What are you saying?"

Even though Lantian held a smirk on her womanizer's face. She patted the fan on her palm and walked in with lips spraying words, "If you don't love me, you wouldn't agree to have dinner with me."

"My father called me. I did not know about you," Caihong said.

"What was it about the food?"

"I did not have an idea. You asked me, I replied."

"Then, you agreed to go out with me. What is the reason?"

"My father told me to come."

Lantian narrowed her eyebrows. "Only don't know, my father, don't know, my father. You don't have your own idea?"

The question of the female senior made the girl fall eyeball and close her lips.

Wu's daughter rolled her eyes and quaked her head before she blew a wind from her throat, and after that, she turned over. At that moment, Xiaolan came in.

"Miss."

"Where did you go?" Lantian asked.

"I went to the toilet," Xiaolan answered.

"Why?"

"A lot of food in my stomach. I needed to release it."

"Who tells you to eat without thinking?"

"Miss, you still dare to say that? You told the second young master to buy this and buy that, but you did not eat and threw it all to me."

The speaking of the maid made Caihong's pupils unlock.

"Too much speaking," Lantian said, stroking her fan on the forehead of her servant. "Hurry up to get vegetables for Mother."

"Yes."

When the two women were off, Caihong kept standing to have a thought about what she had heard. She collected a series of stories at the pagoda to be inhaled and evaluated them one by one. She remembered what she had wanted to eat; Lantian had mentioned it to her brother, then the elder man brought it to everyone, including her. She had always thought it was her luck, but now, it seemed the fortune was not from the sky but from humans indeed.

'Why does she do that? Why?'

It was a question that Caihong carried in her head along the way down the stairs. And because she was involved in deep pondering, she did not perceive her younger sisters that were standing on the side of the path until Liqing called her "Second sister." Then she awoke and turned to her siblings. "Yes!"

The three youngsters came to their elder.

"Where are you going?" Li Ai said.

Caihong looked around; she was a little bit surprised how she arrived at the locale where she was standing.

"I, I... just walked around," she said.

At that time, Longwei and Ehuang arrived.

"Young ladies, all of you are here," Longwei said, and then he smiled at Caihong, and the girl replied with a grin.

The friendly action between the two was noticed by Ehaung. At once, she felt a rage inside. Her true mind wanted to tear the face of this concubine's child, but she tried to clench her fury because she did not want the nobleman to feel not good about her.

"Young master, where is this path going?" Li Ai pointed to a road on the right side.

"It is going to the vegetable farm," Longwei said.

"Vegetable farm?" Lifen opened her eyes. "Can we go to see?"

"Yes, of course."
