The meeting droned on, the air thick with tension and the weight of what was to come. I rubbed my belly absently, feeling the baby kick. It was a constant reminder of what I was fighting for. A future for my children.
I listened as the others debated over the best way to deploy our forces. It was a delicate balance. We needed enough strength to hold back the Dog Pillar and his pack, but not so much that we would exhaust ourselves should Reginald decide to invade in the meantime. As of now, the Bull Pillar had not made a move. We had no idea what he was up to, but we couldn't afford to ignore him.
I glanced at Yukihina, who sat silently, her hands folded in her lap. Her expression was unreadable, retaking control of her body from Fate. She had been quiet throughout most of the meeting, only speaking when necessary.
