Amelia PoV
The morning sun had just begun to rise over the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. I stood by the window of our room, looking out at the castle grounds. It was a beautiful sight, one that I had never taken for granted.
Vadim was still asleep, snoring lightly. I smiled and walked over to him. I leaned down and kissed his cheek. He stirred and opened his eyes.
"Morning," he murmured, his voice thick with sleep. A slow smile spread across his face as he blinked against the morning light filtering through the curtains.
"Morning," I replied softly, running my fingers through his messy hair. "Did you sleep well?"
He nodded, reaching for my hand and intertwining our fingers. "Yeah. Thanks to you."
I giggled, feeling warmth spread through my chest. "You're welcome."
He sat up and stretched, his muscles flexing beneath his nightshirt. "What are we doing today?"
