I stared into the primodial darkness. It was like water and clouds in one. It shifted and changed as if there was no set shape or consistency to it.
Halim sighed as he stared at the water around us.
"Halim. You're the one tasked to protect the firmament. Is this what you think is going to break through?"
"Yes." He pointed at a section of the darkness. "It moves and churns constantly, like a whirlpool. But it isn't simple darkness. A legion of shadows is in there."
"Demons?" I gasped. There were that many trapped in the Abyss?
"No, something even more ancient and more powerful. These are shadows from before our time. This realm is where Father made Zionia."
"He is light, but imagining living in this gloomy place? No wonder He created the Heavens to escape this darkness."
"That's one theory, but I believe it's more nuanced. We must remain vigilant to make sure that what lurks inside remains where it is."
