More Taeyang warriors emerged from the portal leading to their home and rushed at the tide of shadowy beings. The battlefield had turned chaotic, but my focus remained on the man in front of me.
Garmr charged again. This time, he was noticeably faster.
His claws raked across my chest in a vicious arc. I reacted on instinct, pulling a layer of primordial water over my body at the last second. The blow still stung, but the water absorbed most of the force. Even so, I felt warm blood seep through my clothes.
I gritted my teeth and raised my arms as he followed up with a powerful downward strike. Water swirled violently around us as I caught his flaming fist with both hands. The impact sent shockwaves through the air.
"You're strong," I forced out, "but strength alone isn't enough!"
Garmr grinned savagely, golden eyes gleaming with battle lust. "Is that so?"
He pushed down harder, pushing me a bit closer to the chaos below.
