Jake Wharton. Heir to the Wharton fortune and legacy.
All his life, people went out of their way to make him happy. His servants, his friends, his family- everyone treated him like he was the most important thing in the world. Evidently, this made Jake Wharton an arrogant, narcissistic snob who looked down on everyone else because that's how life has been for him.
He believes himself superior because that's how the world treats him. Anything he wants, he gets. People want to be around him, suck up to him to gain his favor, and women want to be with him and become his mistresses.
So when Renee rejected him with a mocking statement about how he has a small dick, he couldn't handle it. The humiliation he felt completely shattered the illusory life he had lived till now. He realized that not all women want to be with him.
