Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 137 - New to Class
They looked around at the auditorium that they arrived at and noticed people appearing from the door behind them. This place looked to fit at least 500 people and it looked like it was going to fill up due to the amount of people that came out of the portal.
,"I guess we're really attending classes now," Cias said.
Apollo started walking up the steps and got to the second to last row of desks and sat down, in front of him was a screen that hadn't lit up, it was just black. On top of those screens there were hats with a white roped trim on them and he decided to put his on, it transformed just like his clothing but had a twist, it turned into a flat brimmed hat, Apollo thought (SWEET!!!) After about 10 minutes or so the entire class was filled to the brim and a teacher appeared in front of the class.
,"Hello everyone, my name is Derrick Jean, you can call me Mr. Jean or Derrick, I really don't care. I will be teaching you guys until you are all caught up to date on knowledge that pertains to your enlistment in our interdimensional military."
Apollo noticed that his new teacher seemed laid back, but he could sense a sort of otherworldly power coming off of him.
,"I want to start us off with the most basic of things that defines how our universe and the power structure of how our universe operates. Many of you call this by different names, especially to the 2 students in the back who just ascended. And might I ask, why is your hat different from everyone else?"
The whole class went to look in the teacher's direction and many gases fell onto Apollo and Cias, gazing in either awe, curiosity or resentment.
Apollo thought (How can I already sense people resenting me?) For the most part, it was because he was special, many people wanted to be the main character of other peoples stories and yet these two people who just showed up on their first day were already being called out by the teacher.
,"Well it just kind of transformed this way."
Without a second thought he said very briefly ,"Ok then." ,"All of you, look back at me. I'm sure they don't want that sort of attention when they just got here, the adjustment can be harsh. Going back to our lesson, the thing I'm talking about for today is Quison(C-why-s-ah-n), named after Dr. Will Quison who discovered and analysed the particle. Not everyone goes by this name however, some people call it magic, ki, essence or even just energy. For the sake of appealing to the majority of people and respecting Dr. Quison, we'll just call it Quison."
(Quison, sounds weird now that I've used ki for so long,) Cias thought to himself.
Derrick went further into his lecture ,"Quison particles come from everything, it is not known how they form but it is known that just by existing and doing actions, they are created. Surprisingly, emotions have a big sway in how these particles develop. The more emotional a person, the more Quison they can get in a shorter period of time. However, this does come with its drawbacks. Being in a high emotional state can lead to your power going out of control. This, of course, is very ineffective during battle. So what I recommend is being able to forge your emotions alongside your fighting techniques, letting your techniques drive your emotions instead."
Cias and Apollo turned to each other and nodded, Apollo sent Cias a message via Information Translation (That was very eloquent.)
(I know right, I mean we already knew that but that's a really good way of phrasing it.)
Just then a Bolt of energy went right past them ,"Didn't your parents teach you not to go sending messages around in school."
(HE CAN SEE THAT) Apollo thought, he replied ,"Sorry sir we were just talking about how we thought that your way of saying that technique gave power to emotions was very well said."
Derrick looked at them, sensing that Apollo was telling the truth ,"Alright, no more messages in class though."
Apollo thought to himself (Holy shit that was close.)
Derrick put up his hand and used Art: Light to further create Art: Hologram. ,"This is what the inner workings of a Quison looks like."
The particle had rings of light that seemed to go in and out endlessly, with patterns that couldn't be counted nor distinguished ,"We will not be going over the direct structure in class because that would be a course you could take on your own time, however, you know what this would look like. There's the outer shell and the inner charges. Unlike normal physics, these particles operate on a different spectrum from the magnetic spectrum, we call this the Quison Spectrum. I know, the name seems awfully creative." Everyone laughed.
,"Using these particles one is able to force intention and manifest different powers that we call Arts that allow us to do extraordinary things like summon water, shift gravity or go past the speed of light."
Cias was smiling (This is so exciting, I'm definitely taking that class on Quison particles.)
,"The main Quison that we need to be concerned about is the Quison residing in our souls, that is what we generally tap into when we fight. Training can grow this, which will be your next class. Gaining it back comes from existing, absorbing it or using emotion to create it."
…After about another 30 minutes of talking, Derrick dismissed the class in order to let them get to their strength training course.
