Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 139 - The Strength of an Ascendent
BOOM BOOM A girl with a longsword was fighting against a monster with 4 wings and a lion face, it was standing on two legs. The rest of the people around her were trying their best to support her but it was to no avail. The beast threw its fist and all she could do was block the attack and fly backwards KABOOM. She hit a wall reinforced with Quison. This mission she was sent on was to investigate an area in the spirit realm and weed out a frequent invader. (DAMN IT, I CAN'T DO ANYTHING. NONE OF US CAN.)
Just as she had lost her faith, more of the people around her were knocked unconscious or killed. Then, the monster noticed that she was still alive. It began walking over to her. It raised its fist, and let his fist drop at its maximum speed.
(I guess this is the end) KABOOM. She had closed her eyes in reverence over the life that she had lived, but her death never came. She looked above her and noticed a man with ever so slightly green hair and a katana.
,"You look roughed up." He kicked the beast BOOM, it flew backwards. He reached out his right hand to grab her. The first thing she noticed were the scars on his arms. Just then, she had a thought.
,"Is your name Apollo?"
,"Why yes it is. We can have autographs afterwards, let me deal with this guy first."
Apollo had been sent for backup when a member of the team buzzed for it.
Apollo sized up the beast, it was strong, but not nearly as strong nor as skilled as him. He dashed towards the beast and swung his sword but it was blocked by the monster's arm SLIK. He sliced half way through its arm.
He retracted his sword and fled backwards a few steps, the monster realized that it couldn't regenerate the wound it had, which made its anger rise up. It roared at Apollo. Apollo smiled as it jumped up in the air and smacked down on the ground where Apollo was, making the ground break apart KABOOM. Apollo had already jumped to the ceiling and landed his feet on the rock. The beast sensed this and looked up, it concentrated energy in its arms and sent Art: Quison Blasts at Apollo. Apollo stuck to the ceiling as he dodged the energy BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM.
The beast brought out an immense amount of energy in an attempt to destroy his foe in one blow, the surrounding space distorted as wind kicked up FWOOMP. Both of his arms hurtled forwards as the Quison bolted towards Apollo. Apollo smirked, absorbing the energy with the special ability of his sword. He squatted down on the ceiling and bolted forwards, causing some of the ceiling to break off as he darted towards the beast BOOM FWOOOSH. Apollo sliced right through the beast like a bolt of lightning SLASH. In less than a second, it was sliced in two. Apollo whipped the blood off of his katana and sheathed it TINK.
The blood of the beast was pouring out and landed on Apollo. The rest of the team that was sent with him was tending to the wounds of the people there.
,"You guys doing okay?"
,"We're doing fine," One of the team member with him replied.
The girl from the beginning was astonished, she had never expected to see such strength, and from someone who joined 3 months ago. She had known that Apollo and Cias were special exceptions to the rules when it came to adaptability and growth, but seeing it first hand was a special experience.
He pulled out a device and opened a portal to the physical realm once more BWOOSH. Once he walked through he was met with the person who gave him the command to go to the other side. It was their previous instructor when they first came to the 4th dimension.
,"How did it go Apollo?"
,"Captain Trunsworth, I dealt with it, it wasn't too bad."
,"I'm glad to hear that."
The people that were filing in from behind him were shocked at Apollo's strength. Even though they joined at relatively the same time they were so much weaker than him already. Although it was kind of embarrassing for them, it inspired them to grow stronger to beat him.
Apollo walked with Evan Trunsworth and talked until they got to where Cias was. He just exited the portal and greeted the two.
,"Hey guys!"
,"Hey Cias," Apollo exclaimed.
,"You guys better be ecstatic because boy do I have the mission for you!!!"
