The black bulletproof vest was stripped from Harrison Lucas's body, exposing the deep depression connected to the left rear scapula under Ben Lucas's gaze.
In the pitch-black cave, under the flickering flames, Ben Lucas saw the blood-stained hole on Harrison Lucas's special forces combat uniform.
The bullet was not blocked by the vest; it was a sniper rifle, not a regular pistol, with penetration power enough to pierce a bulletproof vest.
Ben Lucas's originally stern face turned even more grim. He placed the bulletproof vest aside and carefully supported Harrison Lucas's shoulders to make her face away from him.
At this moment, Harrison Lucas had already fallen into a coma due to excessive blood loss.
Her head hung low, her face devoid of any color drooped, and the eyes that always gleamed when facing Ben Lucas were tightly shut.
In the entire cave, aside from the occasional crackling sparks.
Only Ben Lucas's heavy breathing could be heard.
