"Scarlet! Melanie! You're going to be late for school," Paige said loudly as she packed their dish into their respective bags. Nothing could ease the frustration of having two grown-up adults who now does things their own way. This has been going on for several weeks since they resumed another semester.
Scarlet burst out of her room before another call from her mother and she glanced towards the next room where Melanie soon emerged from with her shoes still in her hands. She smiled subtly, knowing she had woken up earlier than her this time.
"You have to carry the bags this time," she told her and threw her bag at her before going to meet her mother where she is.
Melanie threw her shoes on and hung Scarlet's bag across her shoulder before pulling hers along. "No breakfast today?" she asked when she saw the empty table.
"You're late so I packed it as to-go," Paige answered her and pushed the lunchbox to her.
