Vivi stood firm. She looked at the woman before her. She had a smirk on her face.
"Who are you?" Vivi asked. "And why are you against us?" she questioned.
Helsing laughed. "Like I said, I am Helsing, part of the Lytton Pirates. My Captain doesn't lose, and he certainly doesn't leave empty-handed," she replied. "We know you're sitting on two gems. We're here to make sure you don't have them much longer. In fact, we're taking every last one," he added.
"I am Vivi, pleased to meet you," Vivi replied politely. She narrowed her eyes. "Why? What does Lytton want with it?" she asked. "It just can't be the money," Vivi responded.
"None of your damn business," Helsing snapped as her hand drifted toward the hilt of her wooden sword.
Vivi looked at her for a moment. "You're talented. Why waste it fighting for a man like him? What could he possibly offer you?" she asked.
"Lytton is a man who will go forward. He is a man who will bring about change," Helsing replied simply.
"I don't believe it," Vivi responded. "I have never met him but I can feel he is selfish," Vivi added.
"How can you say that without knowing him," Helsing said in anger.
"Beacuse I can tell your heart is not with him," Vivi replied.
Helsing thought of her heart. "What are you talking about?" Helsing shouted. "The heart has no place in these seas," Helsing added.
"You are wrong there," Vivi replied. "You have been observing us," she said. "Dont you think it's true?" she asked.
Helsing thought for a second. She thought she had joined Lytton because he was going to do great things. She was loyal to him. She then thought how long did he know him for.
"Join us instead," Vivi offered as she extended her hand out.
Helsing's expression hardened into stone. "Not a chance," she replied. She thought this was the right decision or not.
"Snake Road," Helsing cried as she rushed toward Vivi with terrifying speed. Her wooden sword was held low. She lifted her blade towards Vivi.
"Touche Slash," Vivi said as she dashed forward. She held her sword and moved her sword horizontal.
Vivi and Helsing`s blade clashed. There were sparks released as their blades collided. Vivi and Helsing looked at each other.
"I thought you were just a civilian," Helsing said.
"No, I am a member of the Love Pirates," Vivi replied.
Helsing jumped back. She thought about who she was. She was not someone ordinary. Her blade was glowing purple.
Helsing jumped forward. "Coiling Fang," she said as she swung her wooden sword in a wide, violent arc.
"Shave," Vivi said as she disappeared and reappeared a few feet behind. She had dodged the attack.
"What was that?" Helsing asked. She thought she had disappeared like a ghost.
Helsing then jumped forward. "Serpent's Hiss," Helsing said as she thrusted it forward in a blinding blur. She was moving her wooden sword with great speed. She aimed for Vivi`s chest.
Vivi saw her launching a rapid attack. She was moving the blade quickly. "Shockwave Projection," Vivi said as he swung his sword and launched a vorpal shockwave at Helsing. An air pressure wave was sent forward.
Helsing saw the attack coming. She quickly raised her wooden sword and blocked the attack. The shockwave slammed against her wooden blade. She was launched back and crashed to the ground. She spat her spit out and panted. She thought that was a big attack.
"I don't want to fight you," Vivi said.
"You don't seem like a pirate," Helsing hissed. She then got up and stayed low to the ground and moved in a jagged, unpredictable pattern. "Shadow Scale Slide," she added as she closed the distance.
Vivi saw this coming. She swung her sword however Helsing dodged the attack and stuck Vivi in the chin with her sword. Snapping.
Vivi was sent flying back into the air. She thought that hurt. She then transformed into a hybrid form. Her body began to shift. Her fingers elongated and her nails sharpened into sleek, black claws. From her back, a pair of large wings sprouted. A long, black tail emerged from the base of her spine. On her head, two small, curved horns began to form on her forehead. Her eyes were red and her chest grew large. She flapped her large wings mid air and started to fly.
"Like I said, who are you?" Helsing questioned. She looked at the demon in the air. She felt a chill in her spine.
"I am Vivi," Vivi replied.
Helsing then leapt in the air. "Venomous Spiral," she said as she spun like a drill with her wooden blade extended. A flurry of rotating slashes shredded through the air.
"Touche Cleave," Vivi said as she gripped her sword with both hands and brought it down. Her blade swung down. There was a clash and the force of the impact sent a shockwave through the clearing.
Helsing felt her strength. She jumped back and landed on the ground. Her long ponytail whipped forward.
Vivi held her sword forward. The sword started to glow dark purple. "Neo Beam,"Vivi said as a dark purple projection was fired at Helsing. The beam travelled through the air towards her.
Helsing saw the attack coming and leaped clear just in time. The beam struck the ground with a deafening roar. It triggered a massive explosion that ripped through the earth. The resulting shockwave caught Helsing mid-air and she was launched back. She was hurtled backward until she crashed violently into a nearby tree. She spat some blood out. She looked at Vivi and narrowed her eyes.
"Shedding Skin Dash," Helsing said as she moved so fast she left a faint afterimage of herself standing still. She appeared behind Viv.
Vivi's eyes widened. She saw Helsing was behind her. She was about to bring her weapon up, however Helsing was quicker she moved her wooden blade and struck her neck with force. Vivi spat blood and was sent to the ground. She crashed into the ground.
"You are quick," Vivi remarked as she got up.
Helsing then came down at speed. "Thunder Solid," Helsing said as she came down. She put her wooden sword forward.
Vivi extended her hand. "Dark Necrotic Beam," she said as she unleashed a dark energy beam from her left palm. The beam tore through the air and struck Helsing while she was still airborne.
The impact was immediate and violent. There was an explosion of dark energy that erupted upon contact. A cloud of thick, black smoke billowed out. Helsing was sent crashing to the earth. She hit the ground hard and coughed up blood. She forced herself back to her feet and wiped the blood from her lip with a defiant smirk.
"You're something else," she admitted. "But I will not lose," she added.
Helsing flicked her coat back. She revealed the sharp steel blade concealed within her wooden sword. "I will end this," she growled. "Delayed Time," she said as she blitzed towards Vivi with a dozen strikes in the span of a single heartbeat. The air whistled as her blade cut through the space Vivi had occupied only seconds before.
Vivi stood her ground. She gripped her sword with both hands as it began to hum with a violent purple radiance. "Touche Final," she roared as she poured every ounce of her remaining strength into a single, decisive swing. The glowing blade carved through the air with overwhelming force, meeting Helsing's blitz head-on. The impact was deafening as Vivi's strike broke through Helsing's guard and slashed deep across her stomach.
The clearing fell silent. Helsing stared down at her broken metal blade. It was shattered by the sheer power of Vivi's attack before her legs gave out.
At that moment, Vivi felt her bleeding. She panted. "You are strong," she said.
"I have lost," Helsing whispered through a gasp. She collapsed into the dirt and blood pooled from her wound as she slipped into unconsciousness.
Vivi rushed to her side as she reached into pocket for a Heal Drink. She carefully forced the liquid down Helsing's throat and watched as the deep gash began to knit itself back together. The wound closed but Helsing remained out cold.
Vivi looked down at her. She thought had gone too far.
