Lucian patted Dustin's shoulder, before leaving with his wife while Charlotte followed them shaking her head in disbelief. they caught up with James outside the University gate "did you drive here?" Charlotte asked.
"not exactly, Someone had dropped me off" James said scratching his head, suddenly remembering something "do you or your parents have plans for tonight?" asking shyly
"we just going to have a dinner before, Charlotte heads off for her holiday" Lucian explain
James placed his hands together rubbing the knuckle of his thumb "would you all allow me ask, could i buy your family dinner for this joyous occasion?" asking anxiously.
Charlotte gave a teasing smile "you go head-to-head on the toughest projects, but you turn into a nervous wreck at formalities"
James retorted sarcastically "if you don't want to go, I'll just focus on work"
"don't you..." Charlotte began to speak before Lucian spoke up "we will come, also you two bicker a-lot more lately haha"
James phone vibrated with a text "sir we have completed the task shall we come and show you?"
James looked up at Charlotte and smiled, "I have a surprise for you"
Lucian nudged Charlotte a telling her to go with James, before they left James told them that they'll meet at the imperial for dinner in an hour, Charlotte and James went to the Imperial early entering a private room. seeing Frank, Jake, and Wendy seating at the table with Julian.
Julian saw James walking in and stood up instantly, seeing the Frank and Jake not standing up he gave them both a slap across the back of their heads. Charlotte was confused seeing those four in the private room, her professional side took over holding her head up high and straightening her back. She walked over to a seat beside the head seat and stood there until James sat down in the head seat.
Soon as James sat down everyone followed suit. "Charlotte, this is Julian he is head of my security, Frank and Jake both new recruits they have business backgrounds and finance while Wendy has business and secretary skills and today I sent them three to complete a task as their test" he turned to look at Charlotte continuing to say "this is Charlotte, my right hand person."
Wendy stood up giving a folder to James, "Sir, with the task you asked for this was the best course of action. there was a decent sized business that was close to bankrupting, so we used the funds allocated to acquire it. after reviewing it closely we found it is promising but there are a few issues within and outside of the company."
James gave a nod of approval; Charlotte spoke as she looked through the file "How much did you spend?"
Jake spoke quickly "we spent 100 million"
"Just the company?" Charlotte asked
"No, we secured about 10 of their own assets at the same time" Jake didn't waste time answering her question
"Not bad, the cause is probably the way they spent the money doesn't seem like embezzling. So, if we can rearrange their finance properly, we can flip it around. not bad at all" Charlotte was impressed at what they did.
She looked at James asking curiously, "when did you arrange for this and get more people on board?"
"Today, needed more people so we aren't overworked."
Charlotte seemed to realize something "The brand is already set up and running really good, so if we focus on this one now, we can make better profits for both of them using the....." she paused before adding "you already thought of that didn't you?"
"If we buy the vacant land around the city, we can let The Brand have the contracts to build on them, and we can make it fair for both companies to grow"
Julian stood up excitedly "you never cease to amaze me Young master!"
the other three looked at each other "who exactly are you?"
"I'm just a businessman, i believe you three know what to do right?" James asked testing them again.
"First we fix their Financial issues up and reshape the building" Jake stated
"And?" James adding with a smile
"We find the ongoing projects, see if there is any issues with them and we reach out to The Brand and allow them a cut" Frank answered
James looked at Wendy waiting for her response "after the projects and the contracts are done, we find and try secure more vacant land"
James clapped at their answers "you three are really good, I'll send you all a little extra for this. I will go to the company in a day or two to help with the transition. take the rest of the day off"
the three of them left the private room, leaving James, Charlotte and Julian. Charlotte asked Julian "since they aren't here, weren't you the thug from the suburbs?"
Julian began getting a cold sweat "T-That was the past me, I'm a changed man"
"Charlotte, you don't need to worry about Julian, he and his men are legit now. and they work as my personal security team."
"B-Boss, she is scary. I won't wrong you"
"Julian relax we all friends here haha"
Julian was wondering why all of James's friends were all scary, compared to himself he is a Pebble in a big sea. "Oh boss, I have sent men to keep an eye on the three recruits and keep them safe. leave it to me"
After speaking Julian took his leave, Charlotte took a sigh of relief "that was one hell of a surprise, you tripled your overall assets rather quick, anymore surprises?"
"No more surprises for now, wanted you to see the process and not be left in the dark"
Charlotte pinched his arm hard "you really know how to keep a secret, what else are you hiding?"
"Oww, that hurts"
She stopped pinching him "with your brains you can go far."
