Vera Wave paid no heed, immediately entering her phonebook, pulling up Kate Palmer's number, and dialing it.
"Director, it's me!"
On the other end of the phone, Kate Palmer's tone was low.
"Vera, what on earth is going on?"
"Let's not talk about this now; I have something important to tell you." Vera knew Kate was referring to what happened last night, so she swiftly changed the topic. "Regarding the Peacock River situation, you need to warn Kris Cooper."
"Peacock River?"
"Yes." Vera stood up and walked to the window. "Someone has already obtained the information from the village near Peacock River. I'm worried that if the news leaks out, it will be detrimental to our project. I hope you advise Kris Cooper to release the data we previously collected. All the detailed information is with Merlin Bradley; you can get it directly from her. Goodbye!"
