Just as Vera finished speaking, the assistant's phone rang. After a few words into the call, he looked toward Nathan Leafcastle for direction.
"Mr. President, what do you think…"
Nathan Leafcastle furrowed his brows. Vera stood nearby, watching him anxiously.
She too had lost loved ones and understood his emotions. He was doing all of this simply because he wanted to take revenge on Kris Cooper.
"Brother Nathan, everything I've told you is true."
Nathan Leafcastle was silent for a few seconds, then he gave a slight wave of his hand to his assistant. He then raised his gaze to meet Vera's.
"You must be hungry. I've prepared some breakfast for you. Shall we go downstairs and eat?"
He gathered the documents on the table, tidied them casually, and then tossed them into the trash can.
"Don't worry, this information will absolutely not get out through me."
Seeing him do this, Vera secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
