"Then why would Keimei be able to use such a method?" Satsuki asks, voice tinted with curiosity.
While she did think of using such a method to grow stronger in a short period of time, after hearing Naruto's warning, she knew that if she did follow such a method, there were high chances for her to die.
While she didn't fear death, she didn't want her death to be so pathetic and to be unable to accomplish her own goal.
Hinata also thinks the same way, but unlike Satsuki, who quickly gives up, she doesn't since she can just use one Shadow Clone to increase the rate of her training, especially mastering the variation of Gentle Fist.
"She had an abnormally large amount of chakra that was comparable to a Kage-level ninja," Naruto calmly responded.
"Even larger than your own reserves?" Hinata softly asks, voice filled with curiosity.
Since knowing the fact that Naruto was the strongest being in the world, Hinata wanted to know what kind of level Naruto reached but was unable to fully judge Naruto for a simple reason: the fact that Naruto didn't go all out throughout the entire time they spent as a team.
Naruto glances at Hinata for a moment and responds, "Who knows..."
With Anko
"Excuse me, Miss Proctor, I think you misplaced this," a voice resounds near Anko's ear.
It sends shivers down her spine somehow. She curses at herself for nearly gasping. She turns her head away from the brat in front of her to be met with the sight of an abnormally long tongue wrapped around a kunai. The tongue belongs to another genin, it would appear. Anko curses once more. How the fuck did a genin manage to sneak up on her?
"Thanks," she said, a smile in place while taking back the kunai.
"Don't ever sneak up on me again. I won't be so kind next time," she utters in a sickly sweet tone that doesn't seem to intimidate the genin at all, who simply smiles back an eerie smile of her own and walks away. Anko turns back to the loudmouth brat to see him standing there, glancing at the departing Grass ninja, along with his teammates.
"Now where was I?" she said loudly, attracting every genin's attention.
"Quit it, lady. Focus on your job and start the exam already," Menma huffs, crossing his arms.
Anko glances up at the sky to view the position of the sun, noting the brat has a point. As much as she'd love to teach him some manners, it's time to get started.
"I'll see you later, brat. You're dreaming if you think I'm finished with you," she warns, pointing the kunai at him. The boy responds by sticking out his tongue, Anko frowning before disappearing in a burst of smoke.
"What a crazy chick. Am I right, guys?" Menma said carefreely while shaking his head. He turns to be met with a pair of fists impacting his skull.
"First you try to start a fight with all the other genin! Now you're trying to start a fight with the Proctor?! What's next?! Quit being a clown!" Mito reprimands, while Menma nurses the two sizeable bumps left by his sisters on his head, a deadpan expression etched across his face. Of all the people to be put on a three-man squad with.
With Team 11
Hisateru can barely keep the smirk off his face as the sight of the famed Forest of Death stands before him.
'This is going to be good,' he thought innwardly, practically giddy with excitement.
"Looks like the next exam is going to be combat-based," Sasuke said, the two boys glancing at each other, Hisateru smirking while Sasuke's face remains in its usual blank expression, though with an excited glint to his eyes.
'Well, as long as they're not fighting each other,' Kaori thought to herself. The two are bickering a lot less, even if they do still at times butt heads. She admires how despite this, they can be formidable when tagging together.
"Be sure to keep an eye out for those sound ninjas from earlier," Sasuke warns, glancing at both his teammates, each nodding in response.
With Anko
Anko emits a shrill whistle that captures the collective attention of all Genin gathered before the training ground. It echoes throughout the forest behind the fence, sending birds flying.
"Right, welcome, all of you, to the venue for the second round of the Chunin exams: Training Ground 44, also known as the Forest of Death!"
"This is the venue for the second round of the Chunin exams; Training Ground 44 is also known as the Forest of Death," Anko announces, watching on with a gleeful smirk as the cadets stand in silent apprehension.
"For the second exam you will be required to fight for survival in the forest for a period of 5 days while attempting to reach the tower in the center."
"Additionally, each team will be given one of a set of two scrolls, marked 'Heaven' and 'Earth,' and will have to acquire the other to qualify for the next round, by any means necessary, as well as reach the tower with both scrolls, unopened, with all three members of their squad present and accounted for. Failure to meet all of these conditions will mean failure of the exam," she finishes.
After Anko finishes explaining, the Chunin proctors immediately begin providing the 'Heaven' and 'Earth' scrolls to each team.
Of course, everyone immediately hides the scroll they obtain in order to prevent anyone from targeting their group. Some of the teams didn't bother to hide it since they believe they can easily take care of anyone who dares to attack the group.
For Team 13, they didn't bother hiding it since, from their perspective, it was better to be targeted to avoid wasting time searching for the team who had the correct scroll they were looking for.
Naruto was the one who suggested it, and Hinata and Satsuki agree with it since they know there are low chances for them to be defeated, especially with Naruto holding the scroll.
After the teams receive the scroll, they immediately divide into different areas where they are going to enter Training Ground 44. Of course the Chunin proctors make sure that everyone goes inside without fearing being followed.
Team 13 enters the forest, and after traversing for half an hour, they don't see any signs of any Genin team chasing the group, which is really unfortunate since it would definitely be an easy way to finish the second test of the Chunin Exams.
"It's already close to nighttime; we better find a place to stay for the night," Hinata suggests after staring at the sky.
"Indeed," Satsuki nods.
While it was unfortunate for not being able to get the second scroll, it was still the first day, and with Hinata's Byakugan searching for others, the team will definitely far easier.
"Let me hunt some animal we can eat tonight," Naruto calmly said.
After such a short conversation, Naruto leaves the two girls to search for their dinner. While he could easily find any animal if he wanted to, right now he didn't but took his time.
There are reasons why he wanted to get separated from Satsuki and Hinata for the time being, and it wasn't involved from the Jujutsu Society but more personal.
It wasn't the projects that he created to entertain himself as well as to test something, but it was an immediate goal that he wanted to accomplish after entering the forest.
Naruto was just hoping that what he thought would be correct, but even if it wasn't, he was okay with it.
After searching for close to an hour, he finally found an edible animal—for Satsuki and Hinata to eat since Naruto wasn't really a picky eater.
It was a deer who was peacefully eating some grass. This deer should be more than enough for the three of them to eat throughout the entire 5 days of the exam.
Though Naruto doubted that they were staying in the forest this entire 5 days.
Naruto didn't manage to accomplish what he desired, but it was still something worth learning about. This is also the main reason why it takes an hour for him to find an animal to kill since he mostly focuses on his immediate goal.
Naruto carefreely brings out a kunai from his weapon pouch. With ease of movement, he throws the kunai towards the deer, who seems to notice Naruto.
The deer tried to run, but the kunai flew so fast that it already hit its neck before the deer could even take a single step from its position.
Naruto walks calmly towards the deer. The moment he got closer, he immediately placed it on his shoulder and intended to make his way back to Satsuki and Hinata when he stopped for a moment.
"Come out and let's get this over with," Naruto said nonchalantly.
