Without giving a reason, Janice Clark didn't ask either.
She knew it would be pointless to ask; she'd find out soon enough.
She took off the facial mask, wiped off the excess serum with a cotton pad, and went to wait in the study.
As soon as she stepped into the study and sat down, she heard a car outside. Knowing Mark Reed had arrived, Janice straightened up, sitting prim and proper, waiting for him to come upstairs.
Mark Reed walked into the study, travel-worn and dusty. When he saw Janice Clark, the cold gleam in his eyes flickered, brighter than the countless stars in the night sky.
"What do you want with me?"
Janice Clark smiled as she looked at Mark, a trace of relief in her eyes. Her daughter being with him was a blessing; she would definitely be happy.
With that thought, the smile at the corners of her lips deepened. Although she hadn't thought much of Mark before, it was different now. The more she looked at him, the more satisfied she felt, the more she liked him.
