Valentine Teller jogged to keep up, determined to stick to his car and not leave.
Wherever he went, she would follow; there was no way he could leave her behind.
The farther the car drove from the city center, the more it headed in the direction of Mark Reed's father's villa.
Valentine felt a twinge of joy in her heart and turned to ask him, "Will you stay at the villa tonight?"
"No!"
"Oh!"
Valentine was a little disappointed; she wished so much that he would stay at the villa. Even if they didn't sleep in the same room, just being under the same roof would be enough!
When he dropped Valentine off at the villa, Mark Reed stepped on the gas, and the car shot off like an arrow.
Janice Clark heard the car sound and came out, seeing Valentine gazing blankly in the direction down the hill.
"Did Mark bring you over?"
Janice smiled and handed Valentine some slippers. It seemed like their relationship was slowly improving, and she was genuinely happy for them.
"Yes."
