There are more fakes than real ones, more inferior than superior, it's not surprising there's a problem, but it would be surprising if there wasn't.

Watching Mark Reed pick up his knife and fork, Valentine asked curiously, "Aren't you going to wait for them?"
"They're not coming." Mark cut the steak, without looking up.

So, it would just be the two of them.
Valentine was overjoyed.
