"Hmph, are you two teaming up to bully me? One calls me a dummy, the other calls me a coward. I'm not talking to you."
Valentine pretended to be angry, deliberately putting on a stern face, pouting, and setting Nian Nian beside her, then turned her back to her.
Nian Nian immediately tugged at her arm, comforting her: "Mom, I won't call you a coward anymore, don't be mad."
"Your dad still calls me a dummy."
"Dad, you're not allowed to call mom a dummy anymore, apologize to her right away." Nian Nian solemnly commanded Mark Reed.
Mark Reed complied: "Sorry."
"Not sincere." Valentine still wore a stern face: "I don't accept your apology."
"Valentine Teller, I'm sorry!" Mark Reed said again.
"Still not sincere."
Mark Reed was exasperated: "What would count as sincere?"
"You should say, 'Ms. Valentine Teller, I was wrong before. I shouldn't have been rude to you or called you a dummy. Please, be the bigger person and forgive me!'"
"Pfft... give you an inch, you'll take a mile."
