"Okay." Mark Reed, dragging his plastered left leg, walked into the bathroom to shower, resting his foot on the tub to avoid getting it wet.
After showering and changing clothes, he sluggishly went out, made a call, and the driver soon came to pick him up from the villa.
Busy at the office until evening, Mark Reed finally managed to return home.
"Honey, I'm back." He couldn't wait to shout as he reached the door.
Yet he saw Valentine Teller sitting on the sofa, tears streaming down her face, her eyes swollen like walnuts.
Seeing Valentine cry, Mark Reed felt his heart wrench painfully.
What's wrong with her?
Mark Reed rapidly rushed to Valentine Teller, holding her in his embrace: "I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."
He thought she was alone at home, too lonely and that's why she cried, feeling very guilty.
He shouldn't have forgotten her because of work.
"Why are you apologizing?" Valentine Teller sobbed as she pushed Mark Reed away.
