"Ah..." Valentine Teller screamed in terror, covering her eyes with both hands, afraid to look outside again.
A hand quietly landed on her shoulder, and Valentine screamed even more piercingly, "Ah..."
"Valentine, Valentine, it's me!" Mark Reed held a candle in one hand and placed the other on Valentine's shoulder, his handsome face with distinct contours.
Hearing Mark Reed's voice, Valentine Teller suddenly threw herself into his arms, "I just saw, saw... Sharry Vaux... she was there..."
Mark Reed looked in the direction Valentine pointed but saw nothing, only the mottled shadows of trees and the swing in the yard swaying in the breeze.
"She was just right there!" Valentine's hand trembled incessantly, slowly retreating.
She couldn't help but doubt herself, was it really Sharry Vaux?
