Chapter 234: Truly Not Afraid of Death

"Bang!" A crisp gunshot.

Zhang Yang froze for a moment, because after the gunshot, Tang Qiqi still didn't appear. But just as he hesitated, Tang Qiqi's figure suddenly emerged, the dark muzzle aimed straight at him.

Damn, this woman was too cunning—firing first just to distract him.

Zhang Yang instinctively tilted his head aside, then threw out a throwing knife.

At the same time, Tang Qiqi's gun also fired.

"Bang!" The bullet whistled past almost brushing Zhang Yang's ear.

Zhang Yang didn't know whether he hit her or not. After throwing the knife and luckily avoiding the bullet, he immediately ran around the Land Rover to the other side.

"Zhang Yang, I'll kill you!" Whether she was hit by his knife or was simply enraged, Tang Qiqi's trembling voice was filled with fury.

Then Zhang Yang heard a military boot stepping onto the hood. She simply leaped up and landed on top of the Land Rover.

"Bang! Bang!"

Zhang Yang held another throwing knife. This woman was completely crazy now… And apparently, his earlier seemingly precise throw hadn't injured her—it had only awakened her bloodlust.

Just then, a sharp braking sound suddenly screeched from not far away.

Pan Ningning arrived? Zhang Yang had just formed the thought when a somewhat familiar voice rang out: "Police!"

It was a sweet female voice—one he recognized well. That traffic cop, Qi Xiaoxiao! What a small world. It was her again.

Zhang Yang broke into a cold sweat. Why did she always run into these chaotic situations? But this time was different. Tang Qiqi wasn't Du Yuheng. This was bad…

Sure enough, when Tang Qiqi saw a delicate, pretty policewoman, she gave a cold smirk and immediately pointed the gun at Qi Xiaoxiao.

Because Qi Xiaoxiao wasn't armed…

"Looking for death!" Tang Qiqi's eyes narrowed slightly as she prepared to pull the trigger.

"Wait!" Zhang Yang suddenly roared from behind the tire, "Bitch! Didn't you say you only wanted to kill me? Killing an innocent person—what the hell does that prove? You think your adoptive father Tang Duan would be proud of that?"

Tang Qiqi paused, her expression darkening as she lowered the gun slightly and coldly said, "What did you say."

"I said you're a bitch!" Zhang Yang truly regretted everything now. He never should've let her go. If he had known, he would've stripped her naked and fucked her a thousand times.

But Tang Qiqi didn't care about his insults. Instead, she asked coldly, "How do you know about my father?"

"Nonsense, I even know you have an older sister." Zhang Yang leaned against the tire, panting heavily as he shouted back.

"My sister." Tang Qiqi clearly hesitated for a moment, but quickly furrowed her brows and sneered, "Bullshit. Don't think spouting nonsense will make me let you go."

"Who said I want you to let me go? I'll kill you myself, then strip you naked and fuck you to death." Zhang Yang stared at the blood covering his arm, feeling weak.

If it had been any other cop, Zhang Yang would've escaped the moment Tang Qiqi was distracted. But Qi Xiaoxiao had saved Yang Fei once—he couldn't just abandon her.

"That depends on who dies first." Tang Qiqi glanced at Qi Xiaoxiao, her eyes shifting, then said, "Zhang Yang, if you don't come out now, don't blame me for killing this cop immediately."

"Who are you? Brandishing an illegal firearm in broad daylight!" Despite the muzzle pointed at her, Qi Xiaoxiao somehow found the courage to glare at Tang Qiqi and shout.

Tang Qiqi froze. How could this pretty doll-like cop dare talk back while staring straight down the barrel? Even the gang bosses she had killed usually pissed their pants when facing death—literally.

But this little beauty—she should clearly know Tang Qiqi had a gun—and still ran over to die? Was she insane?

"Truly reckless." Tang Qiqi regained her calm and snapped coldly, then turned back toward Zhang Yang's side. "I'll count to three!"

"Fine, fine, I'm coming out." Zhang Yang was speechless. He quietly tightened his grip on the throwing knife. He would have to gamble again.

"Throw out my throwing knives first." Tang Qiqi wasn't stupid. She had seen just how accurately Zhang Yang had thrown one earlier—it nearly struck her throat. She carried four knives in total, three normal, one thrown—meaning Zhang Yang had three left.

"Damn!" Zhang Yang nearly died of anger. If he handed over the knives, what would he fight with? Should he just stretch out his neck for her?

"Three… two…" Tang Qiqi didn't bother arguing and began counting down.

"Fuck, fine, I'll throw them." Zhang Yang helplessly tossed the knives far away. Even if Tang Qiqi wanted to retrieve them, it would take time. Of course, she still had her gun.

"There's one more! My patience is limited." Tang Qiqi glanced toward the knife pouch and immediately noticed.

"Damn!" Zhang Yang reluctantly lifted the last knife over his head and tossed it far away.

Strangely, the system had not issued any danger warnings. In theory, there should be three Danger Warnings. Zhang Yang had only used two, yet even in this situation, the system remained silent.

This gave Zhang Yang a faint glimmer of hope—maybe Tang Qiqi wasn't planning to kill him immediately after all. Maybe what he said earlier had stirred her curiosity.

"Get out." Tang Qiqi ordered coldly.

Zhang Yang checked the time. After thinking it through, he could only gamble. With a deep breath, he slowly stood up, raising both empty hands to show he had no weapons.

"You too." Tang Qiqi pointed her gun at Qi Xiaoxiao, gesturing, "Hands on your head. Squat."

"I'd rather die than be humiliated." Qi Xiaoxiao—possibly insane—snapped back immediately.

Zhang Yang was speechless. He wanted to rush over and knock her out. Big sister, do you think this is a game? This woman is a professional killer.

"Hmph, at least you have some backbone. I'll grant your wish." Without hesitation, Tang Qiqi lifted the gun again.

"Wait, Tang Qiqi!" Zhang Yang shouted, "I guarantee we won't resist. You were raised in a military family—killing an unarmed girl? What kind of ability is that?"

"Oh? Quite the charmer. What's your relationship with this cop?"

"Strangers!" Zhang Yang glanced at Qi Xiaoxiao. If not for this girl, he probably would've already been killed by this she-devil.

"Strangers? Who are you fooling? She ran here to take a bullet for you. What a joke!"

Zhang Yang sighed and replied calmly, "There are many things in this world you don't understand and never will. In your dictionary, nothing exists except killing and sleeping."

"Cut the crap. I know you're delaying for backup. But let me assure you—you won't get that chance."

"Do you know why, earlier this afternoon, when I had the chance to kill you… I didn't?" Zhang Yang ignored the threat and asked instead.

"Didn't kill me?" Tang Qiqi sneered. "Don't waste your breath. You wanted to use me to find the location of Spade Eight, that's all."

"Uh…" Zhang Yang stared at her calmly, though he was screaming inside. Damn, she even figured out that little trick. After thinking a bit, he softened his tone and deliberately spoke in a mysterious way: "That's one reason. But there's an even more important one."

"What reason?" Sure enough, she took the bait.

"Simple. I know your sister well. How could I kill her biological younger sister?" Zhang Yang lied casually to set the stage.

But Tang Qiqi only sneered: "Idiot. I've been alone since childhood. What sister? If you're going to lie, at least make it believable."

Zhang Yang saw her anger, but also sensed a hint of uncertainty behind it. Keeping a steady smile, he continued: "I don't need to lie. Your sister is Pan Ningning. You are Tang Qiqi. The two of you were originally twin sisters. When you were about three, you were adopted separately—by Tang Duan and by a Colonel Pan from Mingzhou's military region."

Zhang Yang paused, eyes locked on hers. "Then Tang Duan sent you to the U.S. to study at the University of Michigan. Your sister entered a military academy in Nanjing. Years later—one became a killer, one became a special agent… Tell me I'm wrong."

Tang Qiqi's expression changed slightly. Everything he said about her was true. But she had never known anything about having a twin sister. Her adoptive father had once mentioned something… but it felt too distant, too unreal.

"So what? Even if you're right—I'll still kill you." Tang Qiqi's gaze turned icy as she raised the gun. "Those women around you will be devastated when your head bursts open, won't they?"

Damn this woman! Zhang Yang cursed inwardly. If he survived today, he'd strip her naked and fuck her to death.

"Hey! You heartless woman! Do you know who he is? He's the inventor of Nanxing One! Do you know how many cancer patients his drug can save? How many collapsing families it can rescue? If you kill him, you're killing humanity's hope! If you've got the guts, come at me instead—"

Qi Xiaoxiao, who had been listening, suddenly stepped forward, puffing out her proud chest as she shielded Zhang Yang, righteously shouting at Tang Qiqi.

Zhang Yang froze. This girl… her sense of justice was way too strong. She was facing a killer—if Tang Qiqi could be reasoned with, she wouldn't be a killer.

Sure enough, Tang Qiqi first paused, then her face chilled as murderous intent surged in her eyes.
