Chapter 235: Pan Ningning

Zhang Yang thought this was bad. Sure enough, after Qi Xiaoxiao lectured Tang Qiqi, Tang Qiqi showed no sign of softening. Instead, a clear darkness appeared on her face. She raised her gun again, aimed at Qi Xiaoxiao, and sneered: "Right, you people are noble. You take saving the world as your duty. But sorry, as killers, our duty is to kill. Since you're willing to die for him, I'll grant your wish."

"Tang Qiqi…" Zhang Yang grabbed Qi Xiaoxiao's elbow and pulled her behind him, shielding her. He stared at Tang Qiqi, then looked at the blood covering his arm, exhaled, and said, "I've seen your files. The ones you killed… they were all vile scum overflowing with evil. But she—"

Zhang Yang pointed at Qi Xiaoxiao with his left hand: "She's just a traffic cop who's worked for barely over a year. She hasn't wronged you, nor done anything cruel or unjust. She's her father's only daughter, only 23 years old. What good does killing her do? Your target is me. I'm not resisting anymore. Let her go, okay?"

"Let her go?" A trace of impatience appeared in Tang Qiqi's eyes. "What's wrong with your brain? She's a cop. If I let her go, would I be a fucking idiot?"

As she spoke, she showed no mercy and raised the gun—

"Tang Qiqi…"

Before she could pull the trigger, a voice almost identical to hers sounded from not far away.

Tang Qiqi instinctively turned her head—and froze. Standing about twenty meters away was an extraordinarily beautiful woman who looked exactly like her, holding a sniper rifle…

Seeing someone with the same face as her, Tang Qiqi was stunned.

"Bang!" A crisp gunshot!

The gun in Tang Qiqi's hand flew away instantly. Pan Ningning's shot directly blasted it from her grip. The powerful impact knocked Tang Qiqi off the hood, slamming her heavily onto the ground.

Zhang Yang didn't look carefully. Seeing Tang Qiqi fall like a sandbag, his heart chilled. Had Pan Ningning actually sniped her own sister to death? Too ruthless.

If she were just a normal person, Zhang Yang wouldn't care about her life. But she was the mission target. He reflexively ran over.

Tang Qiqi had fallen hard. Her gun arm seemed broken. She lay on the ground, curled up, sweat beading on her forehead. She looked like she was in immense pain.

Zhang Yang didn't immediately examine her. But seeing the handgun crushed into scrap metal, he knew Pan Ningning had held back—she had only shot the gun, not her. Even so, he didn't dare get too close. He nudged her onto her back with his foot.

Tang Qiqi didn't resist. She weakly held her injured right arm, staring at Zhang Yang with a trace of despair.

Yes—despair, not hatred.

Zhang Yang sighed. Damn it, he was really soft-hearted toward women.

Seeing her like this, his heart softened for a moment. But remembering her arrogance earlier, he still said coldly: "What? Still want to kill people?"

Tang Qiqi turned her face away and said nothing.

"Are you alright?" Qi Xiaoxiao came over, peeking past Zhang Yang's shoulder at Tang Qiqi on the ground. Of course, she was asking about Zhang Yang.

"I'm fine, Officer Qi." Zhang Yang glanced at the big-eyed porcelain-doll policewoman, not knowing what to say. He finally said, "Thank you."

If she hadn't risked her life and delayed things, he might've already been shot dead by Tang Qiqi.

"It's nothing." Qi Xiaoxiao brushed back her loose bangs, then looked at Tang Qiqi again, a trace of sympathy appearing. "I'll call the police and also call 120."

"Don't—" Zhang Yang quickly stopped her.

"Why not? She attempted murder, but before trial she still has the right to emergency care," Qi Xiaoxiao said, confused.

Zhang Yang opened his mouth but didn't know how to explain.

"No reason. You just don't have the clearance." Pan Ningning walked over with her sniper rifle. She passed the two of them, knelt beside Tang Qiqi, and indifferently lifted her broken arm.

Qi Xiaoxiao hadn't looked closely at Pan Ningning before. But now, seeing her clearly, she gasped, covered her mouth, eyes wide, and looked at Zhang Yang: "She… she…"

Zhang Yang looked helplessly at the two faces—one lying down, one crouching. They looked exactly the same. No wonder Qi Xiaoxiao was shocked.

"She's her sister. Twins…" Zhang Yang pointed at the two and explained. "Their identities aren't something I can reveal, but what she said just now was true."

Qi Xiaoxiao stared at the sniper rifle on Pan Ningning's back, covered her mouth again, and whispered, "Is she… a special agent?"

"It's better not to ask what you shouldn't." Pan Ningning said coolly. Without caring about Tang Qiqi's pain, she searched her thoroughly, then helped her up. One hand grabbed Tang Qiqi's shoulder, the other grabbed her limp arm. A few twists—then a sharp pull.

"Crack." A clear bone sound. Tang Qiqi whimpered.

"Just dislocated." Pan Ningning stood up again, her gaze cold. "You can get up yourself, right?"

"Who are you?" Tang Qiqi stared at her, showing no gratitude.

"Your sister!"

"Bullshit!"

Pan Ningning glanced at her. "Why would I lie? Having a killer as a sister—what an honor."

"You…" Tang Qiqi's eyes sharpened, ready to fight.

Pan Ningning didn't care. She said indifferently, "You're not my opponent."

"You only know after fighting." Tang Qiqi's eyes glinted with murderous intent—she really wanted to fight.

Pan Ningning remained calm, even mocking: "Fight? If I had raised my gun a little earlier, your life wouldn't be yours anymore."

"Coward, attacking from behind. What skill is that?" Tang Qiqi was weak from the fall and dislocation, but she refused to lose verbally.

Pan Ningning sneered. "And setting up an ambush on the highway to kill an unarmed man—that's honorable?"

Tang Qiqi fell silent, unable to argue. She looked at Zhang Yang coldly: "Since I'm in your hands now, kill me if you want."

"Hmph, of course you're going to prison." Qi Xiaoxiao finally understood that this situation was far beyond her normal duties, but she still believed this beautiful killer must be imprisoned.

Hearing this, Tang Qiqi glared coldly at Qi Xiaoxiao: "Stupid girl. I spared you once already, yet you still yap."

"You—" Qi Xiaoxiao wanted to argue again, but Zhang Yang pulled her aside.

She noticed his arm was still bleeding and gasped. "Let me take you to the hospital."

Zhang Yang shook his head and whispered, "Officer Qi…"

Qi Xiaoxiao blushed slightly and waved her hands. "Just call me Xiaoxiao. Otherwise it feels weird."

"Xiaoxiao?" Zhang Yang repeated, instinctively glancing at her chest… Although she was petite—compared to the women around him—she was about 163 to 165 cm.

But her chest wasn't small at all… round and full, a different kind of uniform temptation. "Alright, Xiaoxiao, can I ask you a favor?"

Qi Xiaoxiao nodded.

"It's like this." Zhang Yang glanced at the twins. They weren't talking anymore—Tang Qiqi had clearly stopped resisting. "Can you keep today's incident secret? It was all a misunderstanding between us."

"She pointed a gun at you!" Qi Xiaoxiao was stunned. He clearly didn't want to pursue anything. She looked at his elbow again and frowned. "Does it hurt? Let me take you to the hospital first?"

"It's nothing…" Zhang Yang looked at his arm. Damn, it really did hurt. But at least it stopped bleeding. "Xiaoxiao, how do I say this… some things are hard to explain, but…"

Zhang Yang wondered how to convince this justice-filled policewoman to not report anything or leak even a bit. Truly a headache.

"Oh, I get it." Qi Xiaoxiao glanced at the twin sisters, then smiled faintly, eyes sparkling. She whispered, "President Zhang, they're special agents, right? And… your lovers fighting over you?"

Zhang Yang instinctively reached to cover her mouth, then glanced at the twins. Sure enough, both pairs of cold, sharp eyes shot toward him like daggers.

Zhang Yang hurriedly dragged Qi Xiaoxiao further away, ensured they couldn't hear, then nodded solemnly with an embarrassed expression: "Yes, you guessed right. But I already have a girlfriend, so she acted impulsively… you understand."

"That's way too unbelievable…" Qi Xiaoxiao shook her head.

"Just trust me. And besides—" Zhang Yang suddenly heard footsteps. He turned and saw a taxi stopping nearby. "Gold-Class Agent" Ao Tian was sprinting toward them.

Where was his car?

Zhang Yang checked the time. With this speed, damn it—if not for Qi Xiaoxiao and Pan Ningning, by the time he arrived, Zhang Yang's corpse would've already been buried.

What stunned Zhang Yang even more was that Ao Tian looked like he'd been beaten up by a mob. His face was covered in blood and scratches. Luckily the injuries weren't deep. When he saw Qi Xiaoxiao, he immediately roared, furious: "Why is it you again?!"

And Qi Xiaoxiao, hands on hips, glared back at him: "You?!"

Looks like this wasn't their first meeting. What the hell happened between them?
