Chapter 287: A Beauty's Schemes
The buzzcut man froze. Clearly, Yang Fei's reaction stunned him. Her single dismissive "Move" humiliated him more than a slap to the face.
But the strangest part—God knows what nerve snapped in him—after Yang Fei coldly said "Move," he actually stepped aside like an idiot…
Only after Yang Fei walked past him did he snap out of it. Remembering his status, he felt too embarrassed to thicken his skin and chase after her, so he desperately signaled the two men in grey suits to stop her.
But those two had also zoned out. Only after the buzzcut man coughed loudly did they recover and hurry to block Yang Fei at the hotel entrance.
"Give me some face, won't you?" The buzzcut man followed, smiling as he stared at Yang Fei.
Yang Fei glanced at him again, showing obvious disgust. She didn't speak, nor did she move.
"Beauty, not speaking means you agree, right?"
Yang Fei closed her eyes slightly. Then she lifted her wrist. A room card appeared in her fair, delicate palm.
The buzzcut man froze again. What was that supposed to mean?
Not only he, but Cai Yu—standing not far behind—also frowned slightly. As he stared at the buzzcut man's back, a cold smile appeared on his lips.
Knowing that man's temperament, he was surely thinking Yang Fei was inviting him. But knowing Yang Fei, this was more like: 'If you've got the guts, go ahead and try.'
Running into Yang Fei here was completely unexpected for Cai Yu. But her appearance meant one thing for certain: Zhang Yang was definitely here too.
He had a purpose in coming here, but that purpose did not include Zhang Yang—or Yang Fei. He never expected to encounter her.
Although he had only seen her once, that impression had burned into his mind, impossible to erase.
And for that one encounter, he had paid a disastrous price.
Truly cursed. But the person he held a grudge against was only Zhang Yang. As for Yang Fei—
He felt no hostility at all. On the contrary, he thought she was worth pursuing.
"Young Master Cai, you seem to know that woman?" The thin man in white with white-framed glasses turned his head and asked with a smile.
"Yes, I know her." Cai Yu smiled faintly.
"But she doesn't seem to know you."
Cai Yu chuckled. He had told Yang Fei his name that day—whether she remembered, that was another matter entirely.
"Didn't expect Young Master Cai to suffer rejection." The glasses-wearing man smirked.
He looked at Yang Fei and said calmly, "But if it's her, then it's understandable. Even I wouldn't mind suffering a little."
"Young Master Shen, you're joking. But this girl is not ordinary." Cai Yu hesitated for a moment, then added, "Do you know whose woman she is?"
"Whose?"
"Zhang Yang." Cai Yu lowered his eyelids.
"Oh. That explains it. What a waste. Such a beautiful flower… and the brightest, most vibrant type too." The man in glasses shifted his gaze toward the buzzcut man, his expression turning cold. "And that playboy Shi Tonghui—he doesn't deserve her."
"Heh, Young Master Shen, let's just watch the show." Cai Yu said calmly, though his own eyes also showed disdain as he looked at the buzzcut man.
The room card landed gently in the buzzcut man's palm. He stared blankly, his expression becoming unnatural. His legs trembled slightly in excitement. "Miss… is this your room?"
Yang Fei glanced at him but didn't respond. She simply walked toward the hotel entrance.
Seeing this, the buzzcut man hurried after her. "Miss, it's so late. It's dangerous to be out alone. Let me go with you."
Yang Fei frowned, but said neither yes nor no. She slowly crossed the street and entered the 24-hour convenience store. She bought so many things she could barely carry them.
Then she stared at the pile of food, frowned slightly, and—right in front of the buzzcut man—prepared to make a phone call.
The buzzcut man wasn't stupid. Seeing her take out her phone, he instantly became wary. If she called the police or someone for help, he wouldn't hesitate to knock the phone away.
"Lulu?" Yang Fei glanced at the buzzcut man as she spoke into the phone.
Hearing a woman's name, the buzzcut man relaxed. Someone who could accompany a beauty of Yang Fei's level was likely beautiful too. 'Tonight he might get lucky—maybe even a threesome.'
"Didn't you say you were hungry? I'm at the 24-hour store across the street. I bought a lot, but I can't carry it all…"
The buzzcut man immediately stepped forward, smiling brightly. "Beauty, don't worry. I'll help you carry them. No need to bother your friend."
Yang Fei eyed him suspiciously, hesitating for a moment. "Fine then. Lulu, no need to come down. Someone insists on helping me."
"Serving a beauty is my honor." The buzzcut man grabbed the bags without even checking the contents. They were heavy—full of milk, drinks, bread—definitely for a late-night snack.
He wanted to say, 'Why eat this junk? Let's go somewhere nice instead.' But remembering the room card he had, he decided to handle more "important business" first.
After the call, Yang Fei didn't leave immediately. She continued picking snacks slowly.
Meanwhile in the hotel lobby, the man with white-framed glasses watched Shi Tonghui walk back across the street like a servant, carrying bags of food. His cold smirk deepened. He looked at Cai Yu and frowned. "Zhang Yang's woman is this casual? Something feels off."
Cai Yu also looked through the hotel's glass doors at Yang Fei returning leisurely. Under the dim lights, her stunning face remained utterly calm.
He suddenly regretted not warning Shi Tonghui. 'Not just "off"—something was very, very wrong.'
Still, his expression remained unchanged. With his hands behind his back, he asked with a smile, "Young Master Shen, what do you think?"
The man with white glasses shrugged and leaned closer. "You're watching too much TV. Even if Zhang Yang is here—so what? Don't forget, this city is the Shi family's turf. I only think it's a pity. If a beauty like her falls into Shi Tonghui's hands, it would be a waste."
Cai Yu sneered inwardly but nodded outwardly. "True, but Young Master Shen, with your influence, the Shi family is nothing…"
"Heh, Young Master Cai, you care too much. The way you looked at that beauty wasn't normal. Don't pretend you don't care."
Cai Yu chuckled but said nothing. At that moment, the hotel door opened, and Shi Tonghui walked in with bags in hand, wearing a proud, shameless expression.
Simultaneously, the elevator chimed. The doors opened, and three people walked out. Zhang Yang led the way, followed by Xu Danlu and Gao Qi in matching black sportswear.
Even in sportswear, their voluptuous figures were impossible to hide—curves sharp enough to kill.
"Damn… two more beauties." The man in glasses nearly dropped his frames. What day was this? So many top-tier beauties appearing at once. Even though these two weren't as breathtaking as the earlier one, each of them was still a hundred times hotter than the prettiest woman he'd ever slept with.
'There are so many beauties in the world… Staying stuck in this small city is a waste. I need to make something of myself soon—return to the capital, or at least go to major cities like Shanghai or Tianjin, or provinces like Wuzhou or the Southeast. Places like Mingzhou or Meining at minimum.'
Only in those places are there more women and more fun.
But with so many beauties appearing tonight, missing the chance would be a pity. He now felt a bit jealous of Shi Tonghui. That beauty was clearly the most tempting one. Though he wanted to snatch her away, doing so among his own companions would be too shameless.
He glanced at Cai Yu, wanting to gauge his reaction. He didn't believe Cai Yu wasn't tempted. Three beauties appeared—one for each man, if they ignored the two lackeys.
As for Cai Yu—upon seeing Zhang Yang and the two women—he felt a chill down his spine. Not because the Cai family was weaker, but because two of those three people had given him nightmares.
Zhang Yang and Gao Qi. Cai Yu considered himself skilled—among the wealthy young elites, he was surely top-tier. He had thought beating Zhang Yang would be easy, and wanted to show off before Yang Fei—but ended up getting beaten instead, only escaping by jumping into the lake.
And Gao Qi—she was even worse. Whenever he thought of "Haitian Pavilion," he got chills. The memory of that day was burned into his soul.
In over twenty years of life, he had never suffered humiliation like that.
After being tormented by Gao Qi for half a day in Haitian Pavilion, he had no idea how he survived. For a long time after, he even contemplated suicide. He hid from gossip reporters, refusing to appear in public—only today did he leave the capital and come here.
And this was his first trip after that nightmare.
But the first time he stepped out—he ran into this female devil again. Truly cursed for eight lifetimes.
