Chapter 2 - NIGHT OF A FULL MOON II

‎Luciano stared at the gashes in the tree in shock, his mind completely lost.

Despite his resistance, his vision began to blur all around so that the only thing it was focused on were the gashes in the tree which began to twist into different things and shapes glowing different colors until it finally assumed a round chiral shape and a red colour.

Under the influence of this sudden hallucination the distorted claw marks began to glow a bit, blood seeping out of it, pouring slowly from each line. Luciano quickly looked down at his hands trying to avoid staring at anything that may become distorted as well but even his own hands weren't safe.

With a density that seemed all too real, crimson blood thick and pungent covered his hands, dripping slowly from each pale finger.

The colors in his vision narrowed down to just white, black and the accursed blood red. His eyes widened in shock, his gasp even more desperate as he stumbled back in fear attempting to run away from his own limb but falling flat on his butt at the end. You can't exactly run away from yourself can you.

The sounds surrounding his ears like an unwelcome caress grew louder; silent incoherent whispers filling his auditory senses causing an overwhelming sensation. His ears rung and body vibrated, tears springing from his eyes as he curled on the ground teeth gnashing and body drenched in cold sweat.

"S-st-stop" he could only weakly mutter momentarily brought back to his senses from the impact of falling to the ground. His body hurt all over as he felt his bones shifting- breaking and realigning under his skin if that even was what was happening

The sounds echoed more, the whispers seemed to speed up and the sounds of vehicles honking and people muttering to each other all together tormented him.

"Stop" he managed to whisper again, his voice filled with the shameful helplessness and desperation he felt. Finally, as if some unknown god felt pity for him, everything went silent.

He was left lying on the ground all curled up like a fetus, clothes covered in dirt as his heart raced. The bulging veins on his arms and legs had turned purple, his pupils continued to quiver violently flashing between their natural brown and a pale white demarcated by a thin black line.

His bones ached as they broke in different places filling the air with a disturbing cracking noise before joining back together. The last of all the events that suddenly began to plague him.

He remained lying on the floor for what felt like hours but in reality was just five minutes trying to calm himself as well as waiting to see if the pain and noise would start all over again.

His chest heaved as he shakily got on his hands and knees, his back bones suddenly breaking and rejoining so it was broader and wider but with so much impact that he fell back onto the ground.

Luciano groaned cursinh quietly as he attempted to get back up when a sudden impulse filled him and as if puppeteered, he tilted his head backward eyes focusing on the full moon as his eyes finally turned pure white and compelled by an unknown force, he let out a pained howl to the sky.

A final cracking sound echoed before the barrage of noise once again filled Luciano's ears and this time, his adrenaline system was spiked triggering his flight response. Unable to bear the sounds, he ran with no idea where he was going and no thought in his mind other than to get away from the overwhelmingly loud variation of noise.

* * * * *

Luciano's eyes snapped open, his hands flying to his throat to grasp it lightly in a bid to ground himself in reality as he gasped for breath.

He sat up from the ground abruptly, completely uncaring of his disheveled appearance and the fact that he was covered in dry leaves. His mind was reeling and in such a mess if you asked what his name was at that moment he might have said Jennifer Lopez.

Finally catching his breath, Luciano's previously pale skin returned to their normal light brown color and a bit of red to his cheeks. After taking calm his heart down and slow down his racing mind, Luciano slowly stood up, stumbling a bit in the process as he dusted the leaves off his body with his hands.

"Damn, what the hell's got me so worked up?" He muttered breathlessly with a shake of his head. Everything he may have gone through in the past two hours completely wiped from his memory and the only focus of his at the present being to make himself presentable once more.

Once he was sure his clothes were relatively clean and straightened out, he looked around finally paying attention to his environment. He moved around walking in small circles as he examined the place looking for any familiar landmarks however, seeing none.

He found himself in a small clearing that he did not recognize and realized, to his utter astonishment, that he was lost. Luciano never got lost.

'What on earth just happened? The last thing I remember is thinking about werewolf girl, after which I turned on my phone to check the time and-' Luciano groaned in pain as he reached up to tangle his fingers in his hair trying to reduce the sudden ringing that filled his head.

A short memory of him groaning while curled up on the floor flashed in his mind followed by the memory of his ears being filled with a similar ringing along with some other noise completely irritating him.

He groaned out loud shaking his head in a bid to end the sound and amazingly, it worked.

Luciano's breath was once again heavy as he wiped sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand. "That damn ringing" he muttered, contempt dripping from his words as he huffed sticking his hands, already suffering from frost bite, in his coat pockets.

'No point thinking about that now. I just need to find my way home' he thought as he turned around ready to search the bushes behind him for a path when the mild fog that covered the clearing began to condense.
