Chapter 55 - Chapter 20: Carciyan

Carciyan was moving forward while killing more and more beasts in his path. "Get AAAAWAY!!" he roared while killing two beasts in a single blow. In between the falling corpses of those beasts, he saw what he came for.

"What do you think you are doing!!" he muttered, his energy starting to fluctuate, reacting with his emotions. "Come face me, you pathetic CREATURREEE!!" he roared.

His emotion materialized into a strong shockwave; though not as strong as others, it was enough to gain their attention. "Great," he muttered.

Carciyan closed his eyes, and the next moment he opened them, his eyes glowed in a bright bluish-green light; his energy was overflowing like no one else's. His energy almost doubled from before, but it didn't stop, instead increasing more and more.

His eyes became more and more bright, and the area around him was covered in his glow. His blade's energy started to fluctuate more violently; within a few seconds, it calmed down—both his energy and his blade's energy.

Tooth-like features appeared on his blade, but he didn't pay any attention to them. He looked towards those creatures which started to slowly advance towards him. Their eyes were filled with a strange look while their mouths released saliva.

"Okay, let's do this," he muttered while taking a long breath and pushed his body into the core of the beasts. While his blade was cutting beasts like butter, his mind was constantly repeating the same words again and again: "Just hold for a second longer."

"NO!!! You don't," Carciyan shouted while stabbing one of the beasts with his blade. He used his blade to behead that beast, gripped its head by its fur, and threw it like a projectile.

The beast's head flew for a few moments and then cracked open when it hit another beast's head. Carciyan's face got a second of relief as he saw that beast move a few steps back.

But during this time, beasts had surrounded him and several of them stabbed their claws into his body. The pain of several cuts made his head spin for a moment, but he didn't flinch.

"Is this all you got?" he slowly muttered while trying to bear the pain. His energy flickered for a second, but it was so brief none of them understood a thing. His muscles contracted, stopping the beasts in their places for a few moments; it was all he needed.

Beasts tried to pull their claws out but they didn't work; a few of them tried biting him, but he dodged their bites. "Graaahh!!" one of the beasts roared in rage and tried to charge its destructive beam. The air around it started to vibrate; Carciyan looked towards that beast. Sweat rolled across his face, his eyes locked onto the beast.

The beast fired its attack. "Okay then," Carciyan muttered, accepting the possible outcome, but he was not ready to give up. His grip on his blade tightened and his eyes turned brighter.

He blinked his eyes, getting ready for the fight.

His eyes were slowly closing and he saw the beast's beam moving towards him; he was about to close his eyes completely, but he saw a shadow move in between the beasts and then the energy disappeared. He opened his eyes in a flash.

The sudden opening of his eyes turned them red, but he ignored the pain. He saw one of the beasts bite that beast's neck and pull it apart. That beast roared in pain but nothing worked; all its muscles and blood vessels were stretched and then torn apart.

The beast's body struggled for a few seconds and then turned lifeless on the ground.

Carciyan was confused but didn't let it affect him much; he quickly returned to normal and tried to find his friend. He found him still lying on the ground, without any motion or sign of life. His heart stopped for a moment, but then he saw a faint sign of life in him. "He is fine," he muttered inside his head.

The beasts were confused and shocked. These beasts were afraid, restraining them from any form of movement.

The majority of the beasts attracted by Carciyan were frozen for a few minutes, though the same was not true for those who ignored him completely.

Carciyan was relieved, but it was short-lived as he saw beasts coming dangerously close to his friend. He swiftly moved his blade, killed those beasts he had trapped, and then started to move forward.

"Not this time," he muttered and tried to advance from between the frozen beasts, but he wasn't that lucky either; as he jumped over the beasts, one of the beasts moved its head out and bit his leg. Its teeth clenched deep into his leg, followed by a sharp pain.

The beast didn't allow him to jump far, and then the beasts around him slowly started to move as their beast instincts did not bind them anymore for the time being.

He tried to kill that beast, but he didn't have enough time to do so. The beast smashed him onto the ground. The impact traveled through his body and came out in the form of blood rushing out from his nose and mouth. He bore his pain, cleaned the blood with his sleeve, and then tried to stand his ground.
