Seraiya opened her eyes.
The snow and trees were gone. She sat up. "Maddie?" She called out as she looked around the blackness.
She had been her before.
She slowly stood up. "Selene..."
"Hello my child" the beautiful goddess finally appeared before her. "Am I dead?" Seraiya asked. Selene was silent for a moment.
"Yes"
The answer was simple and clear.
"What now?" Seraiya asked. Selene smiled, and waved her hand. Before them appeared the past. The moment in time when Selene gave Seraiya the choice between living and dying.
"17 Earth years ago I gave you the choice between life and death, the choice to die and be at peace or live for the reason of your creation" Selene said as they looked at the past moment.
"no one in history has had special treatment like you" Selene said with her angelic voice. Seraiya scoffed slightly turning her head away before looking back at Selene. "you call what you did special treatment?" seraiya asked. "you forced a 5 year old girl to choose between living and dying just to suffer her whole life when she chose to live..."
"I told you that life would not be easy and the gods would come after you" she said. "And you still made the choice to live"
"I was a child" Seraiya repeated again.
"You were, and I realize I never should have made you make that choice when you are so young" Seline said sympathetically.
"Which is why here and Now I give you the choice again" she said suddenly.
"You can choose to die and live your afterlife in peace with those whom you have lost" she added. "Or you can choose to live and when you go back Awaken as the tribrid"
"I don't understand" Seraiya said confused. Last time I was here I didn't awaken as a tribrid"
"Last time you were here, you weren't dead" Seline answered. "Not only that but to become the tribrid it's not just dying, you must sacrifice your life for another you care about" Seline told her.
"I have the key near me, a key I must protect with my death" Seraiya said it's realization finally hit her. "The key was never just one person it was everyone I love" she said. "Indeed" Selene replied.
"Think about the choice I have given you" Selene said "think about it carefully and when you come back decide"
"Come back from where?" Seraiya asked as Selene suddenly turned into a blinding light that made her look away.
When Seraiya looked back she was out of the darkness. The world around her looked like a place that could be compared to heaven itself.
"Seraiya" she heard a voice from behind her, one so familiar there was no way she could ever mistake it.
Seraiya slowly turned to see a face she never thought she would see again. "Amani..." She whispered. "What are you doing here?" Amani asked walking to her and grabbing her hands. "I died" Seraiya said simply. "No... Its to soon" she said grabbing Seraiyas face.
"You have to go back" Amani told her with a serious expression. "I dont think I want to" Seraiya said. Amani thought for a moment. "Follow me" she said grabbing Seraiyas arm and pulling her.
"Where are we going?" As they walked to what almost appeared to be a beach. "Amani your..." A male voice said excitedly before pausing in disbelief. "Seraiya" Aaron said. "Aaron... Anya" Seraiya said. "You're not supposed to be here kid" Aaron told her.
"Give her a minute" Anya told him pushing past and hugging her as a Amani released her hand. "I am beyond happy to see you but he's right" Anya told her and she released her from the hug. "You have a long life to live you have to go back" she added "Selene told you of my choice didn't she?" Seraiya questioned. "She probably wants you to try to convince me to go back"
"You still have a lot of work to do" Aaron said simply. "He's right" Anya said with a smile. "You can't do it if you're here" she added.
"I killed all of you" she said painfully. "No you didn't" Aaron said "you are all dead because of me" she replied. "We're dead because it was our time" Amani cut in "didn't get my letter?" Amani asked with a nudge. "I knew I was going to die, I could have changed it but if I did your brother would have died instead" she added. "None of us have any regrets" Aaron added.
Amani turned Seraiya to her. "None of what happened to us is your fault" Amani said. Tears welled up in Seraiyas eyes.
"I killed you" seraiya said. "I took your wolf and than I watched your life drain from your eyes, while you laid in my arms because of it" she said.
"That wasn't you Rai" Amani said. "That person that did that to me wasn't you"
"Wasn't it?" Seraiya asked. "I truly didn't think you had to hear these word but I will say them anyway" Amani replied.
Seraiya looked down and away from amani
"You are meant to save the world" she said placing her hand under Seraiya's chin forcing her to look her in her eyes.
"This is your is your path, one you have to follow... And you need to know I forgive you"
She said as tear ran down Seraiya's cheeks
"I Forgive you Rai"
Amani hugged her and Seraiya hugged her back. "I hope I don't see you for a very long time" she said to seraiya
"I love you"
Suddenly Amani and everyone around Seraiya was gone and she was back in the darkness.
In the distance Seraiya finally saw light. A light that glowed red and gold.
She slowly began to walk towards it, one step after another she began to walk faster and faster before finally she stopped a few feet away from the large glowing red and gold ball of energy.
Was this it? Was this where she made her choice.
They were right... All of them. She didn't belong in the after life yet. There was still far to much to do.
Seraiya reached her arm out for the energy.
It wasn't hot or cold. It had no feeling, as she held it in her hand and stared at it. Her eyes slowly began to turn red but not completely.
That was when she moved it towards were her heart was and pushed the energy into her body.
She let out a scream as she fell to her knees. Closing her eyes as she fully collapsed to the ground.
It was suddenly cold again.
She could feel the wind on her skin the snow around her hear the breeze as it blew.
And then she opened her eyes.
