( Ena's POV )
With our two missions completed, it was time to return to the only safe place in this strange world: our base in our territory, we went through the Leyline portal, and when we appeared at our base, I took out my phone and sent a message to Mitsuri informing her that we had rescued some of the missing teachers.
After that we did some decorating; we unloaded the motorcycle shop next to the apartment building, while Kyoko's office was able to fit inside one of the empty floors within the building.
We met again in Kyoko's office to discuss our next move, and the supposed gunsmith we rescued was there too, he was a middle-aged man named Munehisa Iwai.
When we sat down, Mr. Iwai looked at me intently.
Iwai: The others told me that you're the one in charge here, is that true?
I glanced quickly at Kyoko for confirmation; she was the oldest here, and more importantly, she seemed like a very competent woman, but she didn't appear to be interested in leadership, I wasn't interested in that either, but in this small group, that role seems to have fallen to me.
Ena: That's right, do you have a problem with that?
Iwai: Not at all, I saw what you guys can do. I can't fight those creatures, but you seem to be putting more importance on me than I deserve.
Ena: Well, we've been following the guidance of a mysterious benefactor. You don't know it, but you might have something that will greatly help us survive and escape from this place; even if that weren't the case, an extra pair of hands wouldn't hurt.
Ann: We found this guy inside his own store, just like we did with Kyoko, maybe we'll find clues there.
Ena: You brought that building with you, right? How big is it?
Ann: Not that big, it could fit on one of the empty floors of the building.
Ena: Let's see the place then.
We went to one of the lower floors, Ann used her cell phone and the new building appeared in an instant; it was a model gun shop, not a big surprise considering the mission description said we were going after a gunsmith.
Ryuji: Cool place, isn't it? As soon as I saw it I thought, 'man, it would be nice if those guns were real'
Ena: In this world, I wouldn't be surprised if these became real.
Upon entering the place, the others began to look for clues as to why the mission had led us to this location, but I was looking at the models, searching for something I would like to use.
I grabbed a high-caliber Magnum pistol and a PN90 submachine gun; I chose those for no other reason than that those are the kinds of weapons I like to use in zombie games, I put both models guns on the counter as if I were going to buy them.
Everyone looked at me confused, and at that moment an alarm went off on my phone. I checked it and saw a new app there; it was called Macca Trader, I opened that app and what appeared was a normal shopping app, and the two weapons I had put on the counter were already in the shopping cart. I pressed buy and waited to see what would happen.
First there was a somewhat awkward moment of silence and then another phone alarm went off, but this time it came from Iwai.
He pulled out his phone and we all gathered around to see what it was.
The same Macca Trader app appeared on his phone, but when he opened it, he got a request page showing the two weapons.
Iwai: What is this, required materials?
The necessary materials that Iwai mentioned were below the image of the requested objectives; the two models I put on the counter were one part, and the other was a certain amount of Macca
While I was wondering what Macca was, my phone rang again, another app appeared on my phone and this one looked like a mobile bank, I opened that of course and the first thing that came up was a confirmation to make a transfer; the amount that appeared there was the same as what appeared on Iwai's list of materials, obviously the two things were related, so I pressed accept.
Another alarm immediately sounded on Iwai's phone, then a kind of magic circle appeared beneath the model guns on the counter, that magic circle shone brightly for a few moments and then disappeared seemingly without having done anything.
I knew something had happened, so I went over to the counter , I raised the weapons, and immediately felt the changes.
Ena: ...they're heavy.
I opened the revolver's cylinder and saw that it was loaded, and I checked one of the bullets; it looked like real ammunition.
Iwai quickly approached and checked the two weapons quickly; he came to the same conclusion as me: the models had become real weapons.
We left the building and make a short test, we fired at a wall of the many abandoned buildings, when a bullet hole appeared there it was confirmed these were real weapons
Iwai: ... boy, how did you do that?
Ena: Like I said, we have a mysterious benefactor, every time we needed something to survive, an app would give it to us.
Iwai: You're pretty sharp, kid. I understand how you guys have been surviving in this dangerous place.
Ena: Well, this only worked because you were here, so what do you say, will you help us from now on?
Iwai: um sure, you guys will be doing all the hard work, so if this is the help I can give you, then count me in.
Iwai and I shared a handshake to cement our partnership, and after that I was left thinking, what was Macca and how I've been collecting that.
There was someone who could know, so I called her name to receive her knowledge.
Ena: Pixie, do you know what Macca is?
I called the first demon I made a contract with, and Pixie's face appeared on my phone.
Pixie: [ Oh, that's another one of the energies that appear naturally around here; when they come together, they take physical form, we demons use it in the same way that you humans exchange paper for other objects. ]
Ena: You say this is money.
We gain experience by defeating demons as if this were a game; I suppose they drop money when defeated too.
Ann: Hey, this isn't working for me.
I was thinking about the possibilities that had opened up for us, but I got distracted when I heard Ann complaining.
I approached her and noticed she had the new shopping app open.
