He slapped the spear down, seeing Nuka was gone he looked around cautiously when multiple beams of energy came from the forest. His tails slapped redirecting many of them while he dodged others.
The beams of energy suddenly became less and the next moment.
An ape beast with glowing fists crashed down on top of him as Kane dodged the final beam. Nuka threw multiple punches creating a crater burying Kane in the ground within seconds.
"Roooar." She screamed as energy generated in her mouth. A constant beam rocked the ground and Kane was pushed down further until a gaping dark 60 meter hole of darkness was left.
Seconds passed and a purple light pulsed inside the hole, Nuka's legs bulged as she squatted down, with a leap in the air she jumped above the hole turning into her fox form.
She closed her eyes drawing in more power, her body ignited with calm waves of energy and all of her tails twisted together merging into a long one.
Kanes energy rippled out, shaking the ground, the hole caved for a second, but was turned into a massive crater as he raised up with overflowing power that crashed around live massive waves against a shoreline of rocks.
Both of his eyes were purple without pupils, his fram was thinner and he too had only one tail that was purple and red. Looking at Nuka, a grin formed on his face as purple mist seeped from between his teeth like foam from a rabbit dog.
Damon and Nexas had made it a great distance away, but could still feel the vibrations from the fight. Kaiva remained by their side making sure to clear a path or use her mirages to confuse and lead the other threats away. She couldn't see or sense them clearly because of the cloaks so Damon would guide her occasionally with a tap on her side.
Entering another section of the forest the vegetation changed. The trees were thick and red like the logs used to make Nuka's home. The forest floor was clear and low. Looking at his location through the system he was on the right path, but still a great distance away.
Emerging up ahead was the same two headed wolf from before. They stopped running and took shelter behind a tree. Kaiva made six mirages that took off running towards it, the wolf charged back blasting energy balls right through them.
While it's attention was focused on her mirages kaiva climbed in the trees making her way towards it from above. The cubs had been compliant the entire time understanding the dangers around them, but became more antsy as time passed.
Damon had to hit one of them lightly a few times to make him stay still. The mirages were destroyed and the wolf walked their way sniffing the ground. It looked hard and curiously in their direction like it knew something was there.
"Damn thing got a good nose on it. " He thought holding on to Nexas hand.
It was a few meters away when Damon thought to use false will. He remembered it failed against the same beast last time which he believed was due to the infection. It made them relentless, they didn't care about being lower in level against anything.
More mirages of kaiva suddenly leaped out the trees. The wolf blasted two of them, but the real one landed on its back digging her claws in while biting down on one of its necks. Damon conjured two tridents in the air and activated one of his new skills.
Static rain- a combination attack with electric current in each rain drop that gradually promotes paralysis. 150 percent plasma output. Lvl 1. Can be combined with any other rain skills.]
Dark clouds rolled in above, steady rain came down with a vibrant blue hue. Hitting the ground, very small currents of electricity crawled across whatever it made contact with.
"Woah, it's beautiful."
Nexas mouth was slightly open while watching the rain. Damon focused hard trying to make sure his ability wasn't affecting kaiva, but only the wolf. It was all based on his intent within his ability that allowed him to choose what or who his rain affected. It seemed to be the same with static rain as well.
He then paired static rain with down pour attacking its stamina as well. Somehow the wolf was able to toss kaiva off and they were now face to face. It lunged at kaiva, but was slapped across its face with a strong and quick swing.
Kaiva landed multiple blows and there was nothing the wolf could do about it as her feline reflexes were unmatched. In no time the wolf was severely wounded, but remained steady.
Damon couldn't tell if his skills were doing anything. To him the wolf didn't slow down or look to have any type of stiff movement through paralysis.
He could only think it would take a while because of its level and the sickness remembering how slow, down pour was affecting the same type of beast last time.
He knew his Tridents weren't going to do anything, but hoped it would help even if it was nothing but a distraction.
He sent them flying aiming for its side as kaiva bounced off a tree with multiple mirages repeating her actions. Suddenly a beast with scales moved in catching one of the Tridents and breaking the other with its claws.
[Fully infected humanoid Winged gator, high maturity.]
[Strengths- it uses its wings as an extension of its body like blades. Their scales are tough, along with their claws which can be lethal. Their powerful lock tight jaws are the main part of this beast that makes it so deadly.]
[Weakness - overconfident and weak eyesight.]
"Not one of these bastards again. You gotta be kidding me." Damon said frowning deeply.
It joined in on attacking kaiva's mirage's, but not before looking their way trying to discern where the Tridents came from.
"This thing intelligence is on another level. The last one could speak, but was a step stronger than this one. I'm sure this one can speak as well." He thought.
Kaiva danced around both of them with her mirages and quick agile movements, but the winged gator beast was able to cover a good distance using its wings making it tougher for the real Kaiva to get close. Once the gator eyes met the real kaiva it never took its eyes off her.
Swinging its wing like a blades, it finally hit kaiva who now had a long cut up her shoulder. Damon casted recovery mist while fighting the urge to do something foolish.
Looking through his skills he knew he could help her out further. He whispered and motioned for Nexas to keep her eyes covered and continue to stay low with the cloak over her and the cubs.
"Kaiva close your eyes." He shouted out running towards them. It was still difficult to see him as he moved with his cloak which gave him a few seconds to spare as their eyes adjusted to the constant camouflage changing it would make as he moved.
"Oculus flash."
Damons eyes and body lit up releasing a flash of light that stretched across the area blinding them. The beasts attacked wildly without their eyesights and even managed to hit each other a few times.
Kaiva took advantage of their state, first she dealt with the winged gator by pulling off it's wings and then head. She was now facing against the wolf again while Damon took the opportunity to run up ahead after going back to get Nexas and the cubs.
They had only got 60 or so meters when they had to take cover again from two humanoid frog beasts with bumps all over them that jumped their way looking around.
"There that strange rain appeared a few minutes ago, Let's check it out." One said to the other.
Damon cursed himself as he now knew he had given away their position earlier. He knew it was a good chance to why the winged gator appeared when kaiva had the wolf on the ropes. He made his rain stay with kaiva to help and now their were more heading her way.
Understanding his mistakes he knew it was nothing he could do about it now. He kept kaiva in his head still focusing on his rain to help only her while affecting anything else.
He hadn't touched his attribute points since his full awakening and was thankful he didn't. Adding 15 to speed and 5 to luck they were now at 37 and 39, with luck still being the highest.
Pulling out four elixirs he gulped two down and gave the others to Nexas explaining it will help.
[Tempo Elixer has been consumed speed has doubled. Duration 5 minutes. ]
[Sixth sense Elixer has been consumed. Natural awareness has increased for 24 hours.]
His eyes shot wide open feeling a huge surge of exhilarating energy along with the doubling of his speed. His fingers moved and twitch uncontrollably and so did his feet. All of a sudden he couldn't stay still.
Nexas ears shot straight up pushing up the hood on her cloak. Her eyes zoomed in and out as she too became jittery.
Within five minutes of the tempo Elixer wearing off they had cleared a ton of ground. The anxious and jittery feeling disappeared, but their awareness was still high. All of their senses were increased greatly.
Looking at his map and the distance to where home base was near they traveled all day and most of the night pushing on ahead. Damon felt his rain abilities disperse minutes after leaving the area where the two frog beasts were seen.
He had received a notification that informed him, he was out of range.
Breathing heavy was Nuka, blood ran down her face as one of her eyes were closed. She held her left arm wincing in pain. Kane grabbed her by the throat, throwing her down, stepping on her chest, he growled with shakey burning eyes.
His long tail reached down wrapping around a white cloudy bottle putting it up to his nose. Nuka had used the second bottle of Elixer earlier which kept her in the fight longer. If it wasn't for that she would have lost a while ago.
Kanes form shifted reverting back to his original body, after he punched Nuka several times knocking her out cold.
"As expected of my once formidable mate."
He placed her over his shoulders and with a few jumps reached the top of a tree. A small pulse of energy left his body and a few minutes later a humanoid bird beast grabbed Nuka's body and flew off.
