I was happy.
Even if some people might think the system's reward was garbage, to me it was the complete opposite. When I watched this movie years ago, I always thought Molly would've made a great little sister for Ash. Unfortunately, that never happened, and after the events of the movie, Molly was never seen again. Honestly, it was a real shame.
But in this world, it's completely different. Now Molly is my little sister, and her parents have moved to Pallet Town indefinitely. You could say this is a much happier ending than the one in the movie—an ending that would've satisfied thousands of people, but that never happened because the creators didn't make the movies canon.
While I was thinking about all that, I realized I had already finished getting dressed, and Pikachu was now on my shoulder, ready to head out.
"I'm ready, Molly!" I said as I walked downstairs.
"You took forever! Aunt Delia called me twice while you were getting dressed!" Molly said.
I must've gotten too lost in my thoughts and taken longer than I realized.
"Sorry, sorry. Shall we go?" I said, extending my hand.
"Yeah, let's go!" Molly nodded.
She happily took my hand, and together we headed to the café to have breakfast. As usual, we held hands the whole way there. When we arrived, everyone was already there having coffee—everyone except Celeste, who seemed to be drinking orange juice.
"About time. Care to explain why it took you so long to get dressed, young man?" my mom asked as soon as we arrived.
"Well… I don't really have an excuse. I was just thinking about everything that's happened these past few weeks and got distracted," I said honestly.
Well, technically, that was the truth.
"But still—" my mom began.
But Spencer interrupted her.
"Don't be so hard on him, Delia. He still has a lot to process," Spencer said.
"You're too soft," my mom replied.
"It's fine. Come on, Ash, sit down and let's enjoy a nice breakfast," Celia said.
Celia was what you'd call an incredibly beautiful MILF—long blonde hair down to her waist, blue eyes, an amazing figure, and a chest I definitely wouldn't mind squeezing… too bad she's already married.
"Yeah," I nodded.
Then I sat next to Roxanne while Molly climbed onto my lap.
"Molly, leave your brother alone and sit properly," Celia said.
"No! This is my seat from now on!" Molly refused.
"This girl…" Celia sighed.
"It's fine. I don't mind," I said.
"It must be nice having such a cute and affectionate little sister," Celeste said.
"Mmm, don't you have any siblings, Celeste?" Celia asked.
"No, but I wouldn't have minded having a brother or a sister. Actually, I would've liked that," Celeste said.
"What about you, Roxanne? Do you have siblings?" Spencer asked.
"I… well…" Roxanne hesitated.
Since I've known her, Roxanne has never talked about her past. In fact, every time the topic comes up, she always changes the subject.
"Don't ask her that, Spencer. Can't you see she doesn't want to answer?" Celia said.
"You're right, dear. I'm sorry, Roxanne," Spencer apologized.
"It's fine. It's not that I don't want to talk about my family… I will someday. Just not right now," Roxanne said.
"If she doesn't want to talk about it, let's drop it and change the subject," my mom said.
"Right! Delia told me you're a Pokémon trainer—and not just any trainer, but a very talented one," Celia said.
"Well… I wouldn't say I'm the most talented, but I'm pretty good at training Pokémon," I said, a bit embarrassed.
I don't like bragging about my abilities. I prefer to stay humble.
"Don't be modest. You should see him in battle. He's incredible!" Celeste exclaimed.
"That's right. So many times it looked like he was about to lose a Pokémon, but just when everyone thought there was no way it could win, he came up with a new strategy and turned things around. He's the most talented trainer I've seen in my entire career as a Gym Leader!" Roxanne nodded.
"My big brother is the best, no doubt about it!" Molly said proudly.
She had never even seen me battle, but in her eyes, I was the best—no question.
"You're going to make me blush at this rate…" I said awkwardly.
It's true that I've won every battle so far, but that doesn't mean it'll always be that way. I never get overconfident. I'm always thinking of new strategies whenever I get the chance. After all, I can't just rely on the same tactics Ash used in the anime—I need to come up with my own and build my own style.
I may have been reborn as Ash, and our personalities might be similar, but… I don't want to follow his path. I want my own adventures. I want to build my own legend.
"Ehem, seems like they all think very highly of you," Spencer said with a smile.
"Of course. We're his girlfriends, after all," Celeste nodded.
Spencer and Celia were clearly surprised to hear that—even Molly, who immediately got jealous.
"My, my… so young and already with two girlfriends. You're quite the charmer, Ash," Celia said with a smile.
"Actually, it's four. And besides Roxanne and Celeste, you already know one of them," my mom added.
"Really? Who is it?" Spencer asked, curious.
"Koharu, Talia's daughter," my mom said with a smile.
"Seriously? Looks like our Ash has more charm than I thought," Celia said with a smile.
Hmm… I don't mind it, but… why are they so familiar with me already? I mean, I've known Celia for less than three weeks. It's strange how much affection she already shows me. She even treats me like Molly's brother despite us not being related.
Doesn't that seem a bit strange? Again, I don't mind—it just feels… odd.
"Well… a lot happened, and things just turned out this way," I said.
After that, we kept talking while enjoying breakfast.
"By the way, what are your plans now?" Celia asked curiously.
"We're planning to leave for Saffron City early tomorrow. It's time to earn my sixth Gym Badge," I answered.
After three weeks of rest, it was time to get back on track. Everything that happened had been unforgettable, sure—but I still had three Gym Badges left to earn, and the Pokémon League was getting closer.
Still, I have more than enough time to get those badges and spend about a month training with my Pokémon.
"Huh? Big brother… you really have to go?" Molly asked sadly.
She knew I was a Pokémon trainer. She knew I would have to leave someday. But deep down… she didn't want me to go. She wanted me to stay with her forever.
"Don't be selfish, Molly. Your brother still needs three more Gym Badges if he wants to enter the Pokémon League. He can't stay," Spencer said.
"But…" Molly said, her voice trembling.
"Even if Spencer's right, I have a feeling Ash will come back once he gets those three badges. Right?" my mom asked.
"Of course," I nodded.
"Really? Do you promise, big brother?" Molly asked, hugging me tightly.
"Of course. I'll need to train for the Pokémon League, so I'll definitely come back," I nodded.
"Only for that?" Molly asked, a little disappointed.
Hearing that, I smiled and gently patted her head.
"Dummy, of course we'll spend lots of time playing together too," I said with a smile.
"Really?" she asked.
"May lightning strike me if I ever lie to my little sister," I said.
"Then I'll be waiting!" she nodded.
After that, we finished breakfast and spent the rest of the day together like one big happy family.
