Chapter 339 Energy Boost
Daniel continued writing in the documents as he considered Aleshia's offer. After reviewing a few more papers, he realized how tired he was and reasoned that a boost would help him complete the work faster and allow her to do as she wished. "Alright, you may heal me," he declared, giving her his consent.
Once Daniel gave the go-ahead, Lucia began to cast her magic, and a soft glow enveloped Daniel. The effect only lasted a few seconds, but it seemed he felt the result almost immediately. "Huh, I didn't realize I had been this tired," he said in wonder as he bathed in the refreshing sensation. He was overjoyed to discover how mobile he felt. "This feeling, I haven't felt so lively in a long time!" With that, Daniel stood up from his chair and started doing some light exercises.
Aleshia gave him a warning, "Make sure not to overdo it, okay? You've only received an energy boost. You still need to have a good night's rest for the effects to last and actually be beneficial; otherwise, you'll feel even worse the next day." At her warning, Daniel nodded, saying, "Yeah, that makes sense."
After doing some light stretches, he returned to his desk. It seemed that Lucia had restored him to his prime, as he was tackling the paperwork with ease. However, the signs of tiredness were still visible on his face. Aleshia reiterated her advice, saying, "Just try to get some sleep. Don't overdo it. I know you feel like a new person right now, but that euphoria won't last long if you keep it up like this, alright."
Daniel was only half-listening to Aleshia at that point, but he accepted her suggestion and stopped working, placing his quill down and shuffling the stack of papers off his desk. "Alright, I hear you. I'll go take a nap," he said without hesitation or resistance, recalling what he had told Rebel. He then walked to a corner of the room and pulled something out of a cabinet. Aleshia leaned in closer, surprised to see that what he pulled out was a bed connected to the cabinet.
While Aleshia was confused about why a bed would be in this room, Daniel climbed into his pull-out bed. Once she regained her wits, she made her way out of the room and to her sleeping area. During the walk, she noticed the quiet of the campsite, along with the gentle sound of soft snores as she walked through the rooms. Eventually, she reached the spot that had become her regular sleeping area. After getting comfortable, she began to feel drowsy and closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep.
