The empty bottle smashed against the road and shattered.
Mo Beiyan had one hand resting on the car window. He lifted his chin slightly, his gaze sweeping over a photo stuck on the edge of the dashboard.
It was taken on Chennchenn's third birthday, when he and Tong Ran took him to the biggest water park in Las Vegas.
In the photo he was holding Chennchenn, the little guy sitting in the crook of his arm, his other chubby little hand wrapped around Tong Ran's neck. Tong Ran had to stand on tiptoe, and in that instant, someone beside them captured the moment, printed it out, and sent it to them.
They'd titled it "Happy Family Portrait."
Mo Beiyan reached out and tore the photo off. He held it in his palm and stared at it—Tong Ran and Chennchenn were both smiling, even he himself was smiling.
