Om had bought the car—but even after that, they had to go back home in a taxi. The car needed a couple of days for its functional accessories to be properly fitted, so Om shared his number with Manager Dheeraj and asked him to handle the delivery updates over the phone.
For the first time in a while, Om felt completely at ease.
He now had both—a car and a home. Maybe not in his hands at that exact moment… but soon, very soon.
A few days passed like this.
Life had settled.
There was peace—no sudden trouble, no chaos. Om's clinic was doing really well. He had hired a good number of staff, and surprisingly, he had handed over most of the clinic's responsibilities to Maya. And what amazed him the most was how quickly she had learned his medical techniques. In such a short time, she had picked things up with incredible precision.
On the other side, Maya's life had also become smooth.
She had a place to live, a well-paying job… but more than anything, she was happy because of one thing—she had found a boss who treated her better than anyone ever had. To her, Om wasn't just a boss… he was the best person she had met.
Slowly, without even realizing it—
She had started feeling something for him.
And Om… had no idea.
Meanwhile, Om and Anshika's partnership business was also growing fast. Om had started making a strong name for himself in the city. His ability to judge jade had made him a valuable influence for the Joshi family, and in the jade market, he was quietly working as their hidden partner.
His bond with Anshika and her father had become almost like family. Even with the rest of the Joshi family, his relationship had grown deep and strong. His uncle and his family were happier than ever since Om had come into their lives.
Everything… was going right.
There was no trouble from the Singhania side either.
If there was one thing missing from his life right now—
It was the Kathwani family.
For quite some time now, Om had been wanting to meet them. It had been too long since he had heard from them. He hadn't spoken to Abhay in days… and even Supriya—who used to call him ten times a day—had completely disappeared.
"What if Supriya ji got really hurt by what I said that day…? Is that why she hasn't talked to me even once since then? It's been so long… not a single call. Is she really that upset? Fine, maybe that's understandable… but Abhay too? Not even one call from him? And no one else from the Kathwani family either…"
His thoughts started racing.
"What could have happened…? Why does it feel like the entire Kathwani family has just… vanished from The town?"
A strange uneasiness began to build inside him.
The more he thought about them, the heavier his chest felt. There was a growing panic deep within him—and Om knew one thing for sure now—
His instincts were never wrong.
Ever since he had gained his new abilities, he had learned that his emotions weren't random. If he felt something this strongly… there had to be a reason.
Without wasting a second, Om called Supriya.
The phone kept ringing…
But no answer.
He immediately tried calling Abhay.
No response.
Now his worry turned into suspicion.
He quickly dialed Anshika.
"Hey, Om! Where are you? I was just about to call you. Good thing you called first!"
Anshika said cheerfully, sitting in her office chair.
"Not now, Anshika," Om cut her off. "First tell me—have you spoken to anyone from the Kathwani family recently?"
At the same time, Om had already started his car and was driving.
"Umm… no. I haven't talked to them in quite a while," Anshika replied, now slightly confused. "Usually, Supriya calls me once or twice a week just to annoy me, but she hasn't called in a long time. I thought maybe it was because of what happened that night at your clinic… so I didn't think much of it. But why are you asking all this suddenly? Did something happen?"
Hearing the name "Kathwani," Anshika felt a slight uneasiness.
"What do you mean 'did something happen'?" Om said, his tone serious now. "Don't you find it strange? A family that used to laugh, joke, and share every little thing with us… and now there's no news at all? I'm going to meet Mr. Kathwani right now. I need to know what's going on with them."
Anshika understood the concern in his voice.
And honestly—
She felt it too.
"Alright," she said immediately.
The call ended, and she quickly started reaching out to her contacts, asking them to gather information about the Kathwani family.
Muttering under her breath, she sighed,
"I don't even know what to do… girls keep buzzing around this guy like flies, and on top of that, I have to help him too. Supriya… I just hope you're fine… and maybe you've found someone else to like."
Even as she said it—
There was something in her voice she didn't fully understand herself.
Meanwhile, Om had already reached the Kathwani mansion.
As he stepped inside—
What he saw…
Made him freeze.
Mr. Dilip Kathwani and his wife were sitting in the hall.
But they didn't look the same.
Not even close.
In just a few days, they had grown weak… fragile… almost unrecognizable. Their bodies looked thinner, their faces dull and dark, as if they hadn't eaten or slept properly for days.
Something was very wrong.
Om stood there, staring at them—
Trying to understand…
What could have possibly happened to push them into this state.
