Leo sat beside her, his hand briefly brushing hers beneath the table.
Across the table, Jacob's gaze remained fixed on them. His eyes moved from Bella to Leo, then back to Bella again. His expression was unreadable but there was something cold in the way he watched her.
Roman leaned back slightly, his arms crossing over his chest. He seemed almost amused, as though he was enjoying this tension, savouring the silence like a cat watching mice.
Ashton glanced between Bella and Leo before looking away, his jaw tight, his fingers restless against the tablecloth.
The tension was almost unbearable.
