Chapter 53 - Chapter 52: The Future Generation

Kevin blinked.

The world rushed back to him.

The noise. The pressure. The chaos.

And standing before him… was something he could not understand.

Earlier when the fight between Kevin and Jayden was about to begin, Sabrina had given Telon a mission.

Telon, her right hand undead, in charge of all the undead, the same one who killed 2 before, was ordered to bring half of the army to the stadium and send the rest to attack the capital, dividing the royal knights and stretching them thin.

Finally luring the remaining stray knights they would kill them all when they thought they had her cornered.

And now she had her body, well, Nadia's own, but it was hers now.

Out of the three, she had two of her personal trophies already in the stadium with one of them in front of her, not to mention how this place was overflowing with mana to absorb, there was no flaw in her plan.

So standing in front of Jayden and Kevin, phase two would commence now, Sabrina thought as she placed her right hand on the ground.

"Emerge from the void, blacker than darkness, Engulf which is resistant. Be thrust into the abyss of infinite hell where nightmares run free!"

Sabrina chanted as a black beam shot out from the middle of the ring where the orb she had placed, previously lay and enclosed the entire arena in a dark dome.

"Isn't that Nadia, but the mana.." Luke thought in fear.

"Arise," Sabrina commanded in a ghastly voice and suddenly portals opened and unending mindless undead with only killing intent stormed out, the only thing on their empty minds…destruction.

The crowd became hectic and suddenly there was pure pandemonium, everyone trying to run to safety.

Quickly accessing the situation, the king commanded the knights to call off the tournament and evacuate the citizens to safety, but more importantly, to avoid Sabrina.

Immediately the command was given, standby knights rushed out to minimize casualties and protect the civilians.

Spotting Jayden, a stray undead was about to bite him but an instinctive slap blew up its head and sent the body flying.

Nadia Samir.

One of the closest friends to Jayden as well as Ren.

The trio first knew each other from the age of three, soon becoming very close after her mother died and had been inseparable since then.

Both Ren and Jayden were going through the same thing.

Absolute shock. They couldn't believe what was going on.

Countless questions raced through Jayden's mind at once.

"That's not Nadia, someone possessed her. I'm sure of it, but…."

"When did it happen?"

"How?"

"Why?"

"Who did this?

Suddenly another magic core awakened in Jayden's mind.

Revelation magic. As the name implies, it revealed things that the user did not know or has not seen, using multiple visions simultaneously.

In his mind, the power activated and answered all his questions starting from the activation of Derik till now.

"Hey, I know she's your friend but stay sharp, we have to stop her" Kevin said as he tapped Jayden's shoulder and turned him around.

He froze at what he saw.

A pentagram above his eye was slightly glowing purple with branch like purple veins sprouting from it.

His eyes were empty like a bottomless pit, the once attractive golden light that once resided in his eyes was gone, now engulfed in darkness.

"Nadia went through all that…because of you!"

Images of when Sabrina attacked her in the bathroom, when she was continuously vomiting blood, when she was having serious dizzy spells, when she was in immense pain.

"It was all you, Sabrina!!!" Jayden screamed, a blood curdling scream that made everyone freeze, from the civilians to the knights, to the undead, they all turned to see the terror that had drawn their attention, even in this scenario.

"Why the hell are you shouting, Jayden Reginald or was Nadia hard of hearing." Sabrina screamed back, mocking him as she laughed at him.

"She's dead, just accept it but soon you'll…" She was interrupted by the fist that landed directly on her face.

The force started to push her back but in the split second before she could move, Jayden continued.

He grabbed her face and slammed it into the ground, not once, not twice but continuously.

Suddenly a burst of dark mana blasted Jayden away.

A dark spear was about to pierce him from behind when Kevin threw his shield which blocked it and quickly controlling it, he quickly transformed it into his giant hammer and slammed Sabrina into a part of the crowd seats.

'She's dangerous. I can barely predict what she's going to do even with my ability.'

"You can't fight her alone. We watch each other's backs and stop her." Kevin said as he rushed over, but Jayden kept walking forward, completely ignoring him, his mind a raging storm of anger as he walked towards Sabrina slowly.

Meanwhile outside the ring, the knights and officials inside the stadium were struggling to stop the undead from leaving, while ensuring the safe evacuation of the people.

"I can't use my magic to its full potential, I might hurt someone. Was this part of her plan?" Luke cursed inwardly as he sliced another undead's head off.

Luke was currently protecting the king who was also fighting, which was keeping him from going to meet Jayden.

Luke had already guessed what had happened as he already knew the scent of Sabrina's mana and it was all over Nadia.

"I have to end this fast, Jayden won't be able to fight her as long as she looks like that, and even then I can't allow the blood of Nadia to be on his hands. That will be my punishment for failing to protect her."

"Let's help fight," Ren said to the king as he finished evacuating a group of people from one segment of the stadium.

"You kids are too young, we can't have you on the battlefield, leave it to us" the king said to the group of mage and swordsman students that were helping to clear the citizens.

"I'll supervise them, Leave it to us…" Mr. David said from the back "…we're running low on knights and the kids have a score to settle."

"I'm not strong enough to defeat her but I will avenge my friend!" Ren swore, his clenched fists bleeding.

"Okay, then what are we waiting for: Aura Extension: Voice of the Messiah."

The speaker shouted into the voice orb.

"Listen, O citizens of Avarice, yet again we are being tested on our courage by this monster but will we cower in fear and run?

No! Will we allow ourselves to be beaten?

No! We will fight, win and rise higher! So if you're ready to risk your life to fight, if you have even a little training in fighting, join in groups and help us drive out this evil that has possessed one of our own."

Immediately, as the speaker's voice entered into their ears, a new burst of energy, strength and power flooded them and they all began to chant at once.

"O Avarice, O Avarice, O Avarice." As the effects of the magic of the speaker began to take effect, everyone with basic training began to pick up weapons of all kind to attack the undead.

"Let's go, we're a few here, so two groups, okay, swordsmen and mages alike.

Chevro, Rex, Lucas, Ugah, Erick you're with me. The rest, help with the evacuation. Let's go!" Mr. David said as three swords lying around started to float at his back.

"What is that magic?"

"String, you can't see it but they're useful. Now, do you know why I chose you guys?"

No, they all chorused.

It's because your respective magic are suited best for mass destruction, although I didn't get to see some people at full power like Chevro over here, so feel free to fight at full extent and let loose.

Finishing his sentence, he began to sprint towards the side with the most undead as the rest followed behind.

Moving fast, they reached a part of the stadium north west of where Jayden and Kevin were in battle with Sabrina.

"We're here," Mr. David said as they reached a group of people fighting against a swarm of undead.

"Even with Charisma magic, normal civilians won't be strong enough to stop them. Let's go."

Strings wrapped around six people and lifting them up, he brought them up to their side.

"Everyone split up, give us a signal or shout if you're being overwhelmed. Good luck." Mr David said urgently.

Immediately, already being used to this kind of situation, they split up effectively, covering equal spaces.

Chevro ran towards the first one and used his sword to block the undead's outstretched hands.

"Incinerate." A high condensed laser burned a hole through its chest where Chevro punched his hand through.

"Wow, I thought you were kinda weak." Ugah said as using his control magic, forced one undead to kill another one.

"I'm not, it's just that I couldn't fight at full strength because each and every one of my lasers would burn through a person, so I had to concentrate to tone down the intensity because of the no kill rule, but now, there's no need to hold back."

Chevro said as he ran to another one, dodged a few strikes, grabbed the undead by the neck and brought it to eye level and bored a hole through its undead brain.

"We're doing fine, what about Mr David." Chevro said as they looked towards Mr David who was standing still with three swords swinging wildly around him and massacring multiple undead at high speed.

"That's our teacher, of course he's going to be okay."

"I think he's fine."

"Totally."

"Yep."
