Morning returned to the Hamura estate with less softness than the night before. Somewhere deeper in the house, the room prepared for Arata had already become his. The house had already returned to its usual rhythm.
Ryu stood by the open window and watched the first sunlight spread across the courtyard.
Naruto was already outside somewhere. He could be located by volume alone. Kohinata had taken other kids for drills. Toshiro was still there and training for the new charge control method alone along with Akihiro and Kaia.
Arata had not yet started his training, but before he could begin, he needed a basic orientation in ninja terminology and the fundamental concepts. Ryu had sent Karoi to fetch him and others that needed some explanation before Ryu started training Arata.
For now Ryu had been thinking about InstinctGPT again—about the way every new drill, correction, and refinement still had to pass through him before it became useful to anyone else.
That was the bottleneck.
Using himself as the bridge between two developing seal systems worked, but only barely because his own training data is useless for others. Every update passed through him. Every correction waited on him. That was acceptable for a prototype. It was a bottleneck, and he had been patient with it long enough.
"The seal itself wasn't the problem. Syncing was… how about a syncing seal that could act as a Fuinjutsu Processing Unit... mutual training at inference time for every InstinctGPT in range?"
Ryu just had this wonderful idea that will solve multiple problems at once.
"If the seals can identify overlap in intent and motion, shared learning speed should rise non-linearly… and if every person in the range is working and training in the same thing, then efficiency will rise exponentially."
Ryu smiled. He already has a basic idea of how this seal works and just needs to make this seal a reality.
Footsteps approached.
"I will think about this later."
Arata came in first with Naruto at his side. Kaori followed. Kohinata came last.
"Sorry, he tagged alone," Kaori said.
"It's fine; I have something that will keep him busy. All of you gather near me," Ryu said.
Naruto dropped into place at once. Arata sat a moment later. Kaori and Kohinata settled opposite them.
Naruto looked around. "So what are we doing?"
"Learning," Ryu said.
He let his gaze move across all of them.
"All of you need to understand what this is before we proceed with it."
Ryu released chakra in air.
-[Genjutsu - Mind Palace Projection activated]
The room vanished.
Space opened around them. A vast and depthless replica of a void. Great spheres of light drifted through the void around them, countless and layered, some small as lanterns, some enormous as moons, each one glittering from within.
Naruto stared upward.
"Wooooow."
Arata tracked the spheres in silence, trying to find the edge of them. Kaori and Kohinata did not speak. They both were veterans and understand this is a genjutsu lecture. This is a rare but not uncommon practice.
Naruto asked, "What is this place?"
Ryu replied, "How do I explain it to you?"
Ryu then said, "How about something familiar to make a comparison?"
Ryu snapped his finger and changed the scene.
The spheres shone, folded inward. In seconds, the void reshaped itself into a vast circular maze-like library stretching in every direction. and them in the middle of it.
Naruto frowned. "Books – I hate them …I liked the shiny balls better."
"That is because your standards are undeveloped," Ryu said.
Naruto pointed at him. "That sounded like an insult."
"It was a fact... you are just a kid."
"The other form is more efficient for me," Ryu added. "This one is more efficient for you. but both are one and the same thing."
Naruto looked around at the shelves. "All these books are real?"
"They are mental copies. Everything I have ever read. Everything I chose to keep. They are part of what made me what I am. So essentially you are standing inside my head, my memories."
**
The genjutsu visions reached inside Naruto.
Kushina said, "How is this possible? One needs a lifetime for this amount of books."
Minato, "Just look at the scale of it."
**
All of them could only see what books are in front of them but not the shelves behind the shelves.
Naruto made a face. "That is too many books. Books are boring."
"Try reading one. I will suggest some fun books for you; they are good for you. i am what i am because of these books. In my case my photographic and eidetic memory helped me read a book in a minute; for you it will take a few centuries to develop this kind of memory, so you better start now," Ryu said.
Ryu looked at Naruto's stupid face and understood books are too early for him. "But for now, just do this."
Ryu flicked two fingers.
A practice target rose from the floor. Then a weapons stand. Kunai. Shuriken. Practise lines and markings of distances on the ground.
Naruto forgot the argument immediately.
"For now, foundation first," Ryu said. "You are too young for the fuinjutsu and ninjutsu parts, so focus on basics. There are some real kunai and shureken there, so train your aim there."
"Finally," Naruto said, already reaching for a shuriken.
He grabbed one and threw.
It missed badly.
A glowing line hung in the air, tracing the path of the throw. A second line appeared beside it, slightly corrected.
"It shows me the path?" Naruto asked.
"Yes."
"That's cheating," Naruto said.
He snatched another shuriken, adjusted his feet and wrist to match the guide, and threw again.
This time he came closer.
**
Minato watched the glowing correction lines.
"Instant visual feedback," he said quietly. "No injury risk. Endless repetition."
Kushina smiled as Naruto corrected his own stance without being told.
"He gave him something real to do."
"And made sure he did not feel pushed aside."
**
Ryu left him to the exercise and turned back to the others.
"Now look carefully," he said.
A single book slid from a high shelf, fell, turned once, and unfolded in midair. It became a massive screen. Seal structures spread across it in branching layers, so large and complex they looked less like writing and more like dense vines on screen.
Naruto looked over one shoulder, saw the giant seal, decided it was adult nonsense, and happily went back to throwing shuriken.
Arata stared.
"That is a seal? I have only heard about them."
"Yes."
"It looks expensive."
"It is. It is one of a kind, and if I sell this, I could buy a country."
Ryu looked up at it.
"This began as a medical solution for Souji."
The seal shifted. A human model formed beneath it. Thin. Young. Seated in a wheelchair.
Arata leaned forward. "I know him. Koji?"
Ryu replied, "This is Brother Souji, when I first met him."
Ryu paused and then continued, "He was paralysed from the neck down, including his mouth and tongue. Except for his eyes, he could not move anything. The neural pathway between his brain and body was severed. This was due to an injury sustained during a mission. His muscles were intact, but his brain signals were not reaching his body."
He gestured. A translucent network lit up through the model's spine and limbs. The seal across the back activated in sections, translating impulse into response.
Souji stood.
"This seal acts as a second brain," Ryu said. "A translator. An interpreter between the damaged brain and body. He could still think what he wanted to with his body, but those thoughts were not being translated into useful instructions. The seal helped with this part… This was not my work alone. Grandpa Dan, Mother Yuki, and Aunty Tsunade all built parts of it with me."
"The original purpose ended with Souji walking," Ryu said. "Mine did not."
The display widened. More layers opened. Secondary lines branched through the main structure.
"If a seal can act as a secondary brain, it can also store neural commands and memories and instincts; it can reinforce them, update them, and refine them with repeated use."
He touched a lower branch of the structure.
"BodyGPT Seal came first—a useful but limited tool for basic body movements."
His finger moved higher.
"This version goes after trained high-level responses like advanced taijutsu and ninjutsu. It focuses on learned patterns and ninja instinct. Hence, InstinctGPT – short for 'Instinct Generative Pre-trained Transformer'."
Kohinata spoke first.
"You are talking about storing ninja instinct."
"Yes."
"You can pass on trained instinct to someone else."
"Yes," Ryu said. "But not cleanly. Not completely. The receiver still needs the basics training. Time to synchronise with the training data he receives. This does not replace hard work. It cuts waste. The early climb gets shorter because the body is not starting from nothing. After that, more training settles the patterns deeper and makes them usable."
Naruto threw another shuriken, focusing on the target instead of Ryu's words.
**
"InstinctGPT", Minato repeated.
Kushina glanced at him. "What?"
"He named it that and called my naming sense bad." He stared at the projected seal for another second.
Kushina replied, "But honey, your naming sense is bad."
Mianto protested and said, "I came up with Rasengan."
Kushina looked at him flatly. "You also considered calling it the Spiral Death Ball."
"That was a working title."
"For two weeks."
Kushina looked back at the seal. "At least his name makes sense."
Minato stared at the projected structure again.
"So this is the full shape of it."
Kushina followed his gaze. "He saw a boy who could not walk and built this from it."
"Yamanaka techniques scan the mind," Minato said. "They move through memories, protect secrets, and sometimes erase them to protect the village. Dangerous arts in disciplined hands. ANBU methods are rougher."
His eyes stayed on the seal.
"But this is different and at a completely different scale," said Kushina, glancing at him.
"That is why it is beautiful," Minato said. He watched the branching logic spread across the display. "And dangerous. It goes further than anything this field should be doing."
**
Ryu changed the display again.
"This matters now for two reasons," he said. "First, because of you."
He looked at Arata.
"I keep becoming useful by accident," Arata said.
"Yes," Ryu said. "Get used to it."
New overlays formed in the air. Sensory pathways. Neural regions. Translation models.
"My brain is a bad bridge for ordinary people," Ryu said. "Too much data. Too much speed. Normal minds do not process it well. It is almost like a bloodline limit problem. You cannot learn bloodline-related ninjutsu even if you want to..."
Arata looked at him. "What is a bloodline?"
"An inherited trait," Ryu said. "A built-in advantage, limitation, or alteration passed through a family line. Mine is not literally that far, not far from it. The comparison is for you to understand."
**
"Is he making a comparison," Minato said quietly, "or describing an actual bloodline?"
Then it clicked for him. Minato just realised this might actually be a bloodline ability rather than just a natural talent. He thought, "A smart boy, already at grandmaster level in fuinjutsu, a medical apprentice with a vast library in his head and high-level forbidden ninjutsu in his arsenal. This bloodline must be real."
Minato said, "So that is his secret: a mental bloodline."
Kushina asked, "A mental bloodline? What is it?"
Mianto replied, "There have been many theories regarding this going around. I have read a few. This kind of bloodline increases thinking capacity and memory without any kind of rigorous training."
Kushina nodded and said, "Meaning if this is a real bloodline, then anyone born in it is automatically a genius."
Minato said, "I am afraid, yes. And if that person is also talented physically and in ninjutsu, then there is nothing stopping him."
Minato was imagining the implication of this kind of bloodline becoming stable and passing on to descendants. The thought gave him chills down his spine. The Nara clan existed, but they can only think and strategise fast. If they had memory and will on top of it, they could have mastered any field they desired, but they had their limits.
Minato did not know how right he was, but he had barely scratched the surface of Ryu's abilities. The main ability of Ryu apart from his sharp mind was his creativity. Without creativity, his mental bloodline was useless and only good enough for learning what is already there.
