Chapter 755: Scroll Details

"Sit down!"

The dwarf sat across from him and asked directly, "Miss Andviel said you had some needs regarding magical arrows. What kind of arrows are you looking for?"

"Not exactly arrows. Take a look first." Wu Heng took out a few electromagnetic cannon shells and lined them up on the table.

The dwarf frowned, looking puzzled. "What are these?"

Wu Heng said, "I need to engrave magic on these to enhance the impact effect."

The dwarf's gaze returned to the iron lumps on the table.

Then, a thought flashed through his mind.

These must be for the Skeleton Wyvern to use as throwing weapons.

That must be it—what else could possibly throw something like this?

Why not just use rolling grenades? They're well-tested and cheap.

The dwarf composed himself and said, "Lord Island Master, what kind of magical effect do you want?"

"Do you have any recommendations?"

"Explosive flames, lightning, and poisonous gas are all quite reliable and stable," the dwarf answered.

"Two of each type. I'll test their effects later."

"Of course, my lord," the dwarf replied with a smile.

Wu Heng continued, "How much will it cost?"

The dwarf hesitated slightly, then looked up at Wu Heng and said, "It's just a small task—how could I charge you?"

"Just give me the standard price. I want to understand the usage cost of this kind of weapon."

The dwarf thought for a moment and then quoted, "Then I'll charge you 380 silver coins per piece, which includes materials and labor."

"That's fine." Wu Heng nodded, then said to Andviel, "Viel, draft an agreement with him."

Andviel took out an agreement and signed it with the dwarf.

After the agreement was signed—

Wu Heng said, "Go back and prepare. If there's any problem, just come to the City Hall."

"Alright." The dwarf collected the shells.

After bowing again, he left the room.

Andviel followed him out and returned shortly after, saying, "Master, the representatives of the business associations at the expo, and the two troupe leaders from the theatrical groups, are also here."

"Let the business association reps in first," said Wu Heng.

The door opened, and a few representatives walked in.

"Lord Island Master."

"Take a seat!"

......

The rest of the time—

Wu Heng met with representatives from the merchant associations attending the product expo and the two theatrical troupe leaders preparing for the movie.

The island's expo had already formed its own standard.

It required approval from Gold-Silver Island.

Only after passing could one be scheduled to exhibit in the showroom.

After chatting with the business reps, Saban and Siska—the two theatrical troupe leaders—came in.

Wu Heng talked with them about the progress of the movie.

The movie screenings on the island had put a lot of pressure on the two troupes.

They had never expected that Wu Heng's description of a "movie" would turn out like this.

Immersive sound effects, intense plotlines, and exaggerated visual impacts.

Especially the overwhelming scenes of Orcs battling Dwarves and Elves.

If this was the kind of movie Wu Heng meant—

They couldn't gather that many people or create such effects.

Probably not even in their lifetime.

Seeing they were on the verge of giving up, Wu Heng offered reassurance and made some promises.

Help would be arranged for them later. Even if the movie didn't match the level of The Lord of the Rings, they would still assist in distribution.

They would not come away empty-handed.

Seeing Wu Heng's promises, the two were a bit more at ease and returned to continue planning the movie.

After they left, Wu Heng finally felt relieved.

All the backlogged matters had finally been handled.

After double-checking that nothing had been forgotten, he greeted Andviel and left the City Hall.

He paused at the door and looked at the bustling street.

Then he headed toward the Guild.

......

The Guild was lively.

Silver-armored spear-wielding Guild guards could be seen all around.

The local Guild was thriving—even the number of guards had increased, and their standards seemed higher.

Wearing a mask, no one paid any attention to him along the way.

Passing through a corridor, he knocked lightly on the steward's office door.

Hearing a voice inside, he opened the door and walked in.

The office was air-conditioned.

The elven sisters lit up when they saw Wu Heng take off his mask.

"When did you get back?" Sheila Grey asked with a smile.

"Yesterday." Wu Heng sat down to the side.

Shiyali brought flower tea over and said with a tone of blame, "You got back yesterday, and only came to see us today?"

"Had too much to take care of. Just finished." Wu Heng took a sip of tea.

Shiyali sat across from him, resting her chin in her hand and watching him.

Sheila Grey continued asking, "Did you get any new intel this time out?"

"Nothing special. Just that the First Prince and Second Prince have roughly split control of the Ekow Kingdom in half." Wu Heng leaned back on the sofa.

The Second Prince?

Sheila Grey frowned. Shiyali didn't even listen and just stared blankly.

"The Second Prince could manage to take half the territory?" Sheila Grey was surprised.

"If the intel's accurate, that's the situation."

Sheila Grey pondered, then asked, "So who's supporting the Second Prince?"

The First Prince held the capital and clearly had backing from major nobles and ministers. They'd even found some sects involved.

Bold enough to kill stewards and investigation teams.

With so many level 18 powerhouses and a brazen approach, yet the Second Prince still holds half the land.

That means he must have considerable strength too.

Wu Heng was also puzzled. From Rentam City's army's advance, it didn't seem like the Second Prince had any real experts.

"Still unclear. Maybe he has hidden tactics or powerful allies."

"Ekow Kingdom is a mess. Even after this ends, it'll be decades before things settle again," Sheila Grey sighed.

Wu Heng added, "This intel isn't confirmed—just hearsay. Don't spread it or report it to HQ, so we don't mislead them."

"Yeah, this has nothing to do with us anymore. I couldn't care less," Sheila Grey said with a smile.

Wu Heng picked up his teacup again. "Did the Hongwen Society write back to me?"

While in Rentam City, Wu Heng had written to the head of the Hongwen Society, mainly expressing interest in scroll inscription.

Even if they weren't going to provide any resources, they should at least reply.

"Books and a letter. Hand them over," said Sheila Grey.

Wu Heng's eyes lit up. So they did send something after all.

Told you!

The watch and pen weren't given for nothing.

Seeing Shiyali unmoved, Sheila Grey called out, "Shiyali, what are you daydreaming about?"

Shiyali snapped out of it. "Huh? What flower?"

"The stuff from the Hongwen Society. Give it to Wu Heng. You're hopeless," Sheila Grey said, exasperated.

"I didn't hear you." Shiyali got up, went to the cabinet, and fetched a book, a notebook, and a letter, handing them to Wu Heng.

Then went back to her seat and kept spacing out.

Wu Heng looked at the books—one was titled Beginner's Guide to Scrolls, the other a slightly worn journal.

He stored both in his spatial ring and opened the letter.

It was a reply from the Hongwen Society leader, mostly about scroll inscription, and advised him not to spread his focus too thin.

Instead, he should concentrate on magic research and leveling up to reach level 18 sooner.

The Hongwen Society leader was an elf. To elves, humans had short lifespans and should focus on leveling to achieve something.

But Wu Heng? One day he'd invent a watch, the next he'd refine a potion.

Though it caused a stir each time, the elf still saw it as being scatterbrained.

Leveling was the right path.

Wu Heng quickly finished reading and put the letter into his spatial ring.

Sheila Grey asked, "What did he say?"

"Told me not to try doing everything and just focus on leveling up."
