Chapter 756 - Chapter 756: Learn Everything

Chapter 756: Learn Everything

Sheila Grey immediately felt like she'd found a teammate. "See, see, even the leader says so."

Wu Heng chuckled. "I'm just looking into it. I don't really plan on inscribing scrolls. I'm rich—I can just buy what I need."

"Filthy rich bastard," Sheila Grey muttered.

Shiyali, still resting her chin on her hand, said, "Coming over for dinner tonight?"

Wu Heng glanced at Sheila Grey, then his gaze dropped to the heavy object resting on the table's edge.

She noticed his look, initially tried to hide, then leaned forward slightly.

Her chin lifted slightly.

Wu Heng grinned. "Let's go to my place tonight. We can watch a movie after dinner."

Sheila Grey looked at Shiyali. "What do you think?"

"I'm fine with anything!"

Sheila Grey said, "Then we'll just head over tonight."

"No need to bring anything."

"Bring your big dumb head." Sheila Grey rolled her eyes.

Wu Heng stood up, stretching his stiff neck. "I'm heading home first. Come by when you're ready."

"We'll come when it's about time," said Sheila Grey.

Wu Heng nodded, put his mask back on, and left the study.

......

Back at the Island Lord's residence.

Wu Heng hung up his coat. "Minnie, Sheila Grey and Shiyali are coming for dinner tonight."

"Yes, Master," Minnie replied with a smile.

Wu Heng turned and headed upstairs.

From the first floor came Robe's voice: "That Steward Sheila Grey has been coming over a lot lately."

Minnie said, "Probably has something going on with Master, right?"

"With Master?"

"The last one who kept showing up to scrounge food was the Wood Elf Guildmaster of Starflower."

"Lady Shanaila? She used to come for free meals too?"

"Mm-hmm. Now she's scrounged her way into the bedroom," Minnie said.

Wu Heng paused mid-step on the stairs.

Uh...

Saying free meals mean something's going on is a bit much, but... maybe they're not wrong.

Now that he thought about it, Shanaila did keep showing up for dinner.

And he'd always find reasons to go eat at her place. Kinda like what's happening with Sheila Grey now.

Doesn't matter. Sooner or later, his maids would know everything anyway.

He kept going, heading up to the study.

......

In the study, only Glenda was there reading a magic book.

The stats said that ghosts could learn necromancy spells, but it hadn't been unlocked yet.

Xiaoxiao and Benny weren't there—they'd probably gone out to play.

"All taken care of?" Glenda looked up.

Wu Heng sat down at the desk. "Confirmed the livestock purchase and met with some business reps."

"Have you figured out where to raise the Zombies?" Glenda continued.

Wu Heng replied, "There was an old prison with complete facilities. I think it'll work."

When they took over Xinfushi Prison, Glenda hadn't become his ghost yet.

So she wasn't familiar with that place.

"Xiaoxiao mentioned it—it should be fine," Glenda nodded.

"Still waiting on the animals to be transported. Things might change. We'll see."

"Fair point," Glenda replied, turning her attention back to her book.

Wu Heng took out the scroll book he brought back and placed it on the desk.

The book was titled "Beginner's Guide to Scrolls (Revised) ". The journal had a sky-blue cover, worn with age, and no title.

Wu Heng opened the book and began reading.

The first few pages were filled with famous quotes from past Hongwen Society leaders and scholars.

Felt like filler—trying to leech off reputation.

He skimmed it and skipped to the real content.

The first section had an interesting title.

[Casting from Scrolls]

It said that all material costs are provided when the scroll is created, so when casting from a magic scroll, no additional material or external cost is needed.

If a scroll needs a specific item, it must be used together with that item.

That part was simple and clear.

Basically, scrolls are one-time consumables—tear them open to cast the magic without extra cost.

Wu Heng kept reading.

Next came the tools needed for inscribing scrolls and choosing scroll formats.

He skimmed this too—he didn't actually plan to make scrolls.

Just wanted to understand the basics.

Then came knowledge about scroll creation.

Cover designs, making magical ink, mixing ratios, and drawing techniques.

Tons of symbols and jargon filled the pages.

Even if unfamiliar, he could get the general idea.

After flipping through the entire book, Wu Heng waited.

No system notification appeared saying a skill had been unlocked.

Guess it wasn't a skill book—nothing unlocked.

"Learn anything?" Glenda glanced over as he changed books.

"One clear point: scroll crafting is tied to the ink made from mixed materials. The ink's energy acts as the magic power."

"That help your talismans?"

Wu Heng thought for a moment. "I think so. I could try using different materials to copy talismans. I remember there were scrolls that blocked ghosts—those materials might work."

Glenda rolled her eyes. "Don't go dragging the Church into this."

"Just asking about materials. I'm not going to the Church," Wu Heng said with a laugh.

Glenda nodded and said no more.

Wu Heng then took out the journal and focused on reading again.

It recorded some experimental notes.

Fairly basic—nothing too advanced.

After finishing, he stored it in his spatial ring again.

He then looked out the window.

It was already getting dark.

Just then, Xiaoxiao and Benny came flying back together.

"Where'd you go?" Wu Heng asked.

Xiaoxiao grinned. "Listened to stories at the island pub. Then we stopped by the church."

"How's the church?"

"Nothing much. Same people. Empty as ever," Xiaoxiao said.

Then she and Benny floated to the side and started a movie on the tablet.

Wu Heng stood up and went downstairs.

......

At the bottom of the stairs, he saw the elf sisters already chatting with the maids.

When they saw Wu Heng—

Sheila Grey laughed. "You invite us for dinner and then don't even come down."

"Got caught up reading that scroll book. Lost track of time," Wu Heng said with an apologetic smile.

"You're forgiven," Sheila Grey said.

Shiyali raised her cloth bag. "Brought some mead."

"Great. I've got some drinks too. You'll have to try them," Wu Heng replied.

Minnie went down to tell the skeletons to serve dinner. One dish after another was laid out on the table.

Everyone gathered around. Shiyali poured mead for everyone and kept encouraging them to drink.

"Don't get drunk again," Sheila Grey whispered.

Shiyali laughed. "Relax, I brought it for Minnie and the others to try."

Sheila Grey nodded, turning her gaze back to Wu Heng. "How was the scroll book?"

"Learned a bit."

Shiyali chimed in, "Don't tell me you're going to invent a new kind of scroll."

"I was just casually reading. I barely know anything yet. No way I'm inventing something already," Wu Heng shrugged.

"Exactly. Even if you're a genius, you can't know everything."

Wu Heng glanced at the short-haired elf, a little provoked. "You say that, and now my manly pride's on the line."

"What's your pride gonna do about it?"

"Forget it, just messing around," Wu Heng said.

"Hmph, figured as much," Shiyali replied, turning back to chat with Minnie and the others.

Wu Heng and Sheila Grey chatted while eating about things that had happened at the Guild while he was away.

......

After dinner—

They all went to the home theater room.

The lights dimmed, and the screen lit up with scenes from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Even if they'd seen it before, everyone was once again glued to the screen.

Wu Heng leaned toward Sheila Grey's ear. "Got a blanket? Cover your legs."

Sheila Grey stiffened, looking at him in surprise.

After a moment's hesitation, she pulled out a blanket and draped it over her legs and waist.

Wu Heng smiled, slipping his hand under the blanket, gently touching her stomach, then slowly sliding down inside her waistband.

Sheila Grey let out a soft moan, spreading her legs slightly and adjusting into a comfortable position, breathing out slowly.

"I'm going to the bathroom," said Shiyali suddenly from the other side.

Sheila Grey froze. Wu Heng's hand also paused.

Shortly after, Shiyali returned.

She glanced at Wu Heng and Sheila Grey, then sat down on Wu Heng's other side.

Then, under Wu Heng's puzzled gaze—

She also pulled out a blanket and draped it over her legs.
