Chapter 801 - Chapter 801, Green Toad Cloak

Chapter 801, Green Toad Cloak

Another ticket for the Ghost Train.

It seems clear now that the other side has a way to acquire these tickets.

Just not sure what the price is.

After all, train tickets are also classified as rare items. It's impossible to just trade them casually.

After reading the ticket,

Wu Heng once again turned his gaze toward the rest of the items.

An 18th-level Professional's stash was still quite substantial.

[Green Toad Cloak (Rare Item)]

[Effect: Lowers presence, can release poisonous fog.]

[Side Effect: Shedding skin.]

(Description: A cloak imbued with poisonous mist effects, it creates a toxic fog-filled environment for the user.)

Looks like this rare item was used to release poison in the private room.

It had two effects: lowering presence and releasing poisonous fog.

Definitely a piece of gear suitable for rogues.

Just like in that earlier fight—poison mist filled the room. Any living creature would've struggled in that kind of environment.

Unfortunately for them, skeletons aren't afraid of poison.

He kept reading.

[Poison-Coated Twin Blades (Magic Item)]

(Description: Daggers etched with deadly toxins, ignore certain defenses and are extremely poisonous.)

[Crocodile Scale Armor (Magic Item)]

(Description: Armor crafted from swamp creature hides, significantly boosts defense and enhances poison resistance.)

Weapons and armor—both were magical items.

The Crocodile Scale Armor even had poison resistance, probably because he was afraid of getting poisoned by his own fog.

The rest of the items weren't particularly special.

A few life-saving scrolls and several bottles of poison.

You could tell this guy was really into poison—almost everything was poison-related.

After checking everything, he stored them into his space ring.

Sitting down in a chair, he again pondered the next part of the plan.

The level-18 assassin problem was dealt with, and most of the spies in the city had been cleared out.

As for the Second Prince, he likely wouldn't be sending anyone again soon.

But wait, there was still the First Prince's people.

He also had many eyes planted in the city. It wasn't clear whether the First Prince harbored ill intent toward Rentam City.

"That bastard might be lurking in the shadows, scheming something big!"

...…

"Did you find anything?"

The three phantoms flew back. Glenda asked from the side.

"One rare item, two magic tools. An 18th-level Professional is pretty rich," Wu Heng said.

Glenda chuckled, "Honestly, you could lure a few more in. You get test subjects and a bunch of gear."

Wu Heng stared at her in surprise.

What's that saying again? Advanced hunters often appear as prey.

They were actually thinking of tricking more enemies here to kill them too.

"Forget it. One 18th-level died here, they'll get cautious. Let's not take any unnecessary risks." Wu Heng immediately shot down the idea.

Xiaoxiao said, "Uncle, with us around, what are you afraid of?"

"It's not fear—it's caution."

Xiaoxiao pouted, clearly not convinced.

Glenda asked again, "So what's the plan now?"

"Roughly figured out the Second Prince's location. When the time comes, we'll go check it out. If possible, take him out in one shot." Wu Heng leaned back.

Glenda said, "So your idea of caution is going to assassinate the Second Prince?"

"We're not afraid of direct confrontations anymore. If I find him, I'll blast him with an electromagnetic cannon. Even the Church's leader wouldn't be able to save him," Wu Heng said bluntly.

When it came to head-on fights, Wu Heng didn't feel threatened.

What worried him were the enemies lurking in the dark.

An ambush, or some rare item that could instantly kill him—that's what concerned him.

So going after the Second Prince directly was actually the safer move.

Glenda and Benny widened their eyes. Xiaoxiao crossed her arms and nodded, muttering "Uncle makes sense."

Benny then asked, "Won't this mess up the current situation in the Kingdom of Ekow?"

"Their situation has little to do with us," Wu Heng replied after some thought.

Xiaoxiao chimed in, "Exactly. Not our business."

Benny sighed, "Alright, I don't really get this stuff anyway."

Wu Heng checked the surveillance again. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he got up and said, "Let's go back. Time for dinner."

The three phantoms returned to his body.

Wu Heng opened a gate beside him and returned to Rentam City.

...…

Back at the City Lord's Mansion.

Dinner was already prepared.

Wu Heng freshened up a bit, sat at the table, and began eating.

Once he'd mostly filled up,

Wu Heng asked, "Any changes in the city?"

"No changes. That tavern went to City Hall this afternoon, got some compensation, and reopened," Wen Mansa answered.

The level-18 assassin died too quickly—barely stirred any attention.

Even the tavern guests only knew the guild brought skeletons to catch someone. Who they caught or what happened—no clue.

And in a place like Rentam City, battles weren't exactly a big deal.

Wu Heng added, "Wen Mansa, come with me to the Serted Fortress tomorrow. Once it's settled, we'll return."

Wen Mansa looked surprised. "Didn't we kill everyone already? Should be fine, right?"

"Better to be cautious. Let's handle it all before we come back," Wu Heng said.

They had Ghost Train tickets.

Meaning they could rapidly send people to Rentam City.

Wen Mansa might still be in danger.

And Wu Heng couldn't always stay by her side.

But once at Serted Fortress, it would be different.

That place was a military base, not chaotic like Rentam City. The population there was fixed.

Outsiders could easily be spotted.

The main forces were stationed there—including Bone Demon No. 2 (level 18) and a level-16 Skeleton Mage. Much safer.

Wen Mansa thought for a moment, then nodded, "I'll follow your lead, Master."

She had kids, after all. She didn't want any danger.

Wu Heng asked, "Who will manage the city while we're gone?"

"As long as things run normally, it'll be fine. The three new maids signed soul contracts. I'll teach them to use the radio. If anything comes up, they'll report to me. Shouldn't be a problem," Wen Mansa said.

"Good." Wu Heng looked at Madam Slater. "Come stay at Serted Fortress for a few days."

Madam Slater shook her head. "I've been away for a while. If I stay out longer, problems might crop up. Do you still have one of those talkie-type items? Give me one. I'll contact you when needed."

"Alright, I'll teach you how to use it later," Wu Heng said.

Madam Slater nodded.

After dinner, Wen Mansa began summoning trusted subordinates to make arrangements.

Wu Heng took Madam Slater to his room.

Taught her how to use the radio and solar panel.

...…

The next morning.

In the courtyard.

Wu Heng stood with two skeletal attendants. Behind Madam Slater were a Skeleton Dreadblade, Golden Leopard, and Wen Mansa carrying a child, followed by a Skeleton Warrior and two Skeleton Banshees.

"Master, everything's ready," Wen Mansa said.

Wu Heng nodded, "No worries. It's not that far. If something happens, we can come back quickly."

"Mm, I trust you, Master," Wen Mansa smiled.

Wu Heng waved his hand, activating [Mansion Spell]—the scene inside began to shift.

One side of the electromagnetic cannon revealed sofas, chairs, a spacious, well-lit interior.

"You all go in first. I'll let you out when we arrive."

Wen Mansa, holding the child, walked in with the skeletons.

"Don't forget, I'm heading to Blackstone Town," Madam Slater added, then entered.

Mansion Spell closed. The interior vanished.

Wu Heng turned to the three maids of the City Lord's Mansion.

Two humans and one Orc—Wen Mansa's latest recruits.

"I'm leaving things to you. Wen Mansa will be back in a couple of days. Don't worry."

Slave contracts were extremely strict and binding.

If the master died, the signed slaves would suffer soul damage.

Stronger souls might go insane; weaker ones, like maids, would die with their master.

The three bowed, "Understood."

"You must not reveal a single word about what happens here. It concerns all our safety," Wu Heng warned.

"Rest assured, Master. We won't say a thing," the lead maid replied directly.

Wu Heng nodded and said no more.

He took out [Conductor's Hat] and put it on—instantly, the train appeared.

Wu Heng boarded and disappeared on the spot.

...…

Noon. The train stopped outside Blackstone Town.

Wu Heng activated [Mansion Spell] and released Madam Slater and the Golden Leopard.

"We've arrived at Blackstone Town. After this, I'll take you to Gold-Silver Island," Wu Heng said with a smile.

Madam Slater put on her cloak. "You've been saying that for ages, and we still haven't gone."

"Can't be helped. The two places are far apart. You know, you could quit being a steward and open a Golden Cat shop on Gold-Silver Island instead. Being a steward's dangerous and doesn't pay much," Wu Heng said.

Madam Slater rolled her eyes. "Easy for you to say. It's not that simple to walk away."

"Fair point."

She gave him a light kiss on the lips. "Come visit more often if you can."

"Mm." Wu Heng nodded, then added, "Don't report any of this to Lilith just yet."

Madam Slater frowned. "Relax. I know the difference between inside and outside."

"Stay safe. Don't do anything risky."

Madam Slater nodded again and walked toward Blackstone Town.
