Evaluation: A treasured legacy of the Elves.

These exaggerated stats clearly showed Matthew just how powerful the Diamond Golem was.

A 25+ Commander-tier strength placed tremendous pressure on him.

It meant that defeating this golem would require a well-equipped legendary five-man team just to have a 10% chance.

That's the power of a Commander-class creature!

Of course, Matthew was very familiar with Diamond Golems.

He had once personally built sixteen of them to battle the flesh-abominations.

Each Diamond Golem cost over 50 million gold to make.

Ten times more expensive than building a 50-man squad of modified warriors for Bay Territory.

Not to mention, the Cole Elves who mastered the initial construction technology...

Had equipped them with many powerful "weapons" and features.

This particular Diamond Golem was essentially the peak configuration of a Legendary battle golem.

In melee combat, it had reached the highest land-combat level known today!

Even legendary beasts like Behemoths, Golems, and Mammoths avoided it.

Why? Because this thing was just too damn tough!

Even in the real world, diamond is one of the hardest substances known to nature.

Though its structure might make it prone to damage...

Its hardness made it extremely useful in various fields.

And in the material planes where anything was possible—

Diamond had found even broader use and development.

Weapons, gems, spell components—it was used everywhere.

The Diamond Golem—

Was the pinnacle of all such technologies combined.

A powerful alchemical creation from another world, it had earned a fearsome reputation here.

Aside from being slow and unable to fly—

This terrifying monster had almost no weaknesses.

But to Matthew—

This glittering Diamond Golem looked like a giant treasure chest.

Just waiting for him to harvest.

"Fortune favors the bold!"

Under everyone's disbelieving gaze, Matthew cheerfully shouted and rushed forward.

The Diamond Golem already marked him as its primary target.

Seeing him charge, it immediately raised a fist larger than several cauldrons and slammed it down.

Though it seemed slow, Matthew didn't dare be careless.

The Offense in Defense feat was a nightmare for most fast attackers.

Many uninformed Professionals and adventurers—

Took a lot of courage just to dare fight this monster.

They often tried to chip away at it with agile attacks.

Only to fall right into its trap.

The slow-moving fist suddenly sped up near Matthew.

A surprise burst of speed.

But Matthew had anticipated it and stepped back early to create distance.

The Golem realized its attack would fail and halted mid-motion.

It quickly adjusted its angle and slammed again.

But Matthew had no intention of engaging—he stepped back again, narrowly dodging.

This surprised everyone.

What they saw was bizarre.

The Golem kept swinging, trying to land a heavy blow.

But Matthew danced around it with light footwork, dodging at the last second.

During the brief gaps after failed attacks, Matthew remained courteous—never counterattacking.

He simply waited for it to reset before preparing his next dodge.

It looked like a game!

Everyone watching felt like Matthew and the Golem were sparring like staged actors.

The scene was both awkward and uncomfortable.

Yet, everyone knew—

Even if Matthew wanted to joke around...

The mechanical-minded Golem certainly wasn't playing.

Every motion radiated terrifying impact.

Matthew wasn't stupid.

The Golem's obvious weak points were just traps.

Anyone lured into close combat—

Would learn just how fast and hard those fists were.

But as the fight continued—

Matthew realized that the Cole Elves had built this Golem with excellent combat logic and growth potential.

Its moves grew sharper, and its pressure intensified.

It was even forcing Matthew to retreat steadily.

Trying to shift the battlefield closer to the Ail Elves front line.

"Can't hit you? Then I'll go bully your little brothers."

This cunning was the Golem's scariest weapon.

Whoosh!

Its punch cut through the air above Matthew's head.

He watched the data improve, excitement flashing in his dark eyes.

Just as he tried to back off again, the Golem suddenly accelerated.

It closed the gap and slammed a massive fist toward Matthew's chest.

Boom!

The deafening impact echoed across the wall.

Cole Elf warriors stared wide-eyed in excitement.

They hoped Matthew had turned into mush.

The Ail Elves side was anxious. Though they hadn't fought long with Matthew—

Many Elves had been saved by him and the modified warriors.

They silently prayed he wasn't gravely injured.

But to everyone's shock, the much shorter Matthew had blocked the blow!

His thick Thunder Armor glowed and crackled, seemingly storing power!

Matthew endured the fierce impact, his body under extreme pressure.

He carefully shifted his stance, channeling the force into the wall below.

Cracks spread across the stone, unable to withstand the redirected force.

Before the second punch came—

Matthew easily deflected the Golem's fist.

He stepped back again, dodging the flailing barrage.

His arms tingled, but with a few breaths, his surging blood flow healed everything.

Excitement returned to his eyes. Seeing another punch, he didn't dodge—it charged head-on!

Boom!

A dull, heavy sound.

Matthew stepped back several paces, leaving deep footprints.

Though both had 30 Strength, Matthew's size and weight put him at a disadvantage.

But his lesser Undead Body let him recover from the collision effortlessly.

Plus, all his attributes were superior.

In clashes and strength contests with the Golem, he wasn't losing much ground.

Both were growing—from the Golem's AI, and from Matthew's honed body control.

Then came a more intense scene—

Matthew began swinging heavy punches around the Golem.

The patient Golem countered with incredible speed and power.

It blocked his early strikes and launched fierce counters.

Their fight drew all eyes on the battlefield—even the Elven commanders.

Even veterans like Commander Tigris and Councilor Kaledor were stunned.

They couldn't believe Matthew, in clunky lightning armor, could withstand such blows.

"Impossible! Even if the Golem's offense isn't its strongest point—"

"It still ranks above average among legendary-tier attacks."

"Even if Matthew blocks them, his body shouldn't be able to take it!"

Councilor Kaledor glanced at the mumbling Tigris.

Recalling his earlier panic over the failed griffon assault, he sighed internally:

"Even when you overestimate Bay Territory and Matthew—you're still underestimating them..."

"As long as these enemies haven't truly died, they must never be taken lightly."

"Their sudden counters are always painful—and deadly."

Tigris was the best example. Their past failures proved it.

Even so, Kaledor calmly comforted him:

"Now that the Diamond Golem is locking down Matthew, even if it can't kill him, it'll at least restrict him."

"This gives our forces a rare chance to break the Elves' already weak defenses!"

Brightening at his words, Tigris immediately rallied.

Gratefully nodding, he issued new commands.

The elite forces, who had halted, received orders to resume their push.

Stifled till now, they struck without hesitation.

A wave of elite units climbed the walls, smashing the Elves' shield wall.

Organized and coordinated, they quickly turned the tide.

As more Cole Elves filled the wall, the Thunder Warriors didn't rush to help Matthew.

They followed Matthew's earlier command—defend the Ail Elves line and charge the rest of the enemy.

Realizing how troublesome the modified warriors were—

The Cole elite didn't retreat—they howled and surged forward.

Even with their strength and defense—

The Thunder Warriors were gradually pushed back by skilled Elven rangers and warriors.

Even their sturdy thunder armor couldn't withstand enchanted arrows and armor-piercing bolts.

Some warriors were heavily injured while covering the Elves' retreat.

Luckily, Jifan reacted quickly and redirected most dragon crossbows to suppress and wound the Cole elite.

Even so, more modified warriors were wounded, and the remaining ones bore increasing pressure.

Still, their fierce counterattacks before falling...

Either they could directly take the life of the enemy's Extraordinary-level combat units.

Or at least injure them enough to diminish their combat power.

A quarter of the wall held by the Cole Elves was already reclaimed.
