Tonight's story is mine to tell,
Static hissing past midnight's bell.
An ominous voice starts to chime,
A nameless station appears in time.
Heard from old tales and lore,
Woven by breath, soul by soul.
The clock had just struck one,
Yet many a toll had already begun.
A whisper hides beneath the tone,
As if a call that speaks its own.
No sooner than half past two,
The chill ends without a clue.
All traces gone, all signals erased,
As if there were none to begin.
Empty air filled every frequency,
Leaving only silence within.
