Suppose you find yourself
at the top of the world,
then a sudden drop—
and you fall into an abyss.
You cannot run,
you can't escape.
You can only learn to pretend,
pretend that you're moving on.
That's what rejection feels like.
A grown man cries in silence,
a mad man cries with tears.
I cried out, got sober, got tired,
and then cried again.
In bed, under a blanket,
in the shower,
hoping to wash away my pain,
or at least make myself aesthetic.
People die of love,
for love,
all the time, all the way.
But I wasn't allowed to grieve—
more like, I didn't know how to.
I wanted to show how I feel.
I wanted to remember
the fleeting feeling,
the love that remained
after love was gone.
