Chapter 9 - After The Incident

✨ Please, Take your time to read.. ✨

The three boys were escorted separately to an office.

—"I don't know, kid, I think the school will take letting you in more seriously,"— commented one of the members of the security committee, who was escorting Hades to an office.

His partner nodded. —"Yeah, kid, you're definitely in trouble." Then he pointed to the other two students. —"See those two.?"—

Hades looked back and spotted Victor and his friend.

—"Those two... they have some connections at the Academy."—

—"Sure, their influence isn't huge. But in a week or two they'll out, it's still influence."— the officer remarked before opening the office door and gesturing to a chair. —"Come in and sit down."—

Then, as Hades sat where indicated.

He officer commented, —"As you know, this Academy is a pioneer in technology and cutting-edge."—

Pointing to his holo-watcher, he continued.. —"Using this device and the security cameras placed in strategic locations, the main culprit is identified. If you have anything to add, you can do so, and to avoid any alterations to your defense, this is also recorded." —

After nodding, Hades shook his head. —"Nothing."—

—"Perfect, kid, you're tough, huh.?"— One of the staff members remarked..

Before they could turn around, student Elrick appeared and knocked on the door. —"Good morning, staff."— The boy said.

Both staff members turned around, and Elrick pulled out a freshly printed sheet of paper. —"With this document, the new student is cleared of any wrongdoing."—

One of the staff members raised an eyebrow in surprise and even muttered under his breath. —"So fast."— In response to the comment from the other official.

The boy could only wrinkle his mouth and gesture. —"Come on, kid, it's time to go."—

Hades nodded and stood up before approaching Elrick, who immediately pointed the way.

A few meters ahead, Elrick commented quietly, —"Don't ask me what happened, because I have no idea either.."— He shook his head at the boy and showed him a copy of the document he had just submitted.

{Magicians Association.].

Inside the office, the two officials looked at each other with expressions of utter bewilderment. —"Hey, Gil, what the hell is that paper in your hand.?"—

The caretaker, named Gil, shrugged. —"I have no idea. It's the first time one of these guys has come in."— He showed the document in his hand to his colleague.

Then they both proceeded to read aloud. —"By means of this document, I, Roger Curtis, exonerate the new student Hades from any responsibility, effective immediately, for any incident."— Gil didn't finish reading the document in his hand when he heard another knock on the door.

Gil stopped reading as his colleague opened the door. —"Good morning, caretakers."— The boy said with a smile, showing and handing over the document.

The caretaker received the document. [Knights Association...] it read at the top. After reading it, he showed the document. —"Damn, Gil, what did we do.?"— He asked, still with his mouth agape.

Gil looked at the document in his hand, then at the document in his partner's hand. After comparing the two papers briefly, he realized they were written and signed by the presidents of each association. —"Before drawing any conclusions, we should get informed and find out who this guy is."— Gil's partner nodded, but before they could do anything, a fourth messenger arrived at the door with a paper in his hand.

Both boys walked down the corridor of the Law and Surveillance Committee...

And although Elrick had several questions in his mind, he decided to remain silent until they left the building. —"Okay, so what do we do now.?"— Hades said after glancing to both sides and lazily stretching his arms, as if what had happened had nothing to do with them..

Seeing Hades's nonchalant attitude, Elrick sighed and muttered under his breath, —"Damn, kid, you just got away with it.,"— Pointing to the offices behind him. —"All thanks to that piece of paper."—

—"Oh, really.? What if that paper never arrives.?"— Hades asked without a shred of interest, as if what had happened had nothing to do with his life, as he continued walking toward Cafeteria #2.

—"Obviously, you're arrested. Then you'd pay for all the damages caused, followed by an additional fee, and depending on the problem, that's how many days you'll be in confinement,...It's not the same to hit a troublemaker as it is to hit a kid who happens to be passing by."—

At that moment, Elrick realized they were walking in a certain direction. —"By the way, where are we going.?"—

—"I'm going to eat,"— Hades said, pointing to cafeteria #2 in the distance.

—"Come on, let's go pick up your uniform. We can buy snacks on the way,." — The boy said, pointing in the opposite direction.

—"That works too.,"— Hades agreed, following the boy.

A few meters further on, they stopped to buy sandwiches and juice from stands run by the students themselves. —"It's an honest, easy, and quick way to get points,."— Elrick commented, taking a bite of his sandwich.

—"They're really expensive, don't you think.?"— Hades remarked.

Elrick nodded. —"Sure, everything here is expensive, but if you don't like the price, you can make your own sandwiches."— With that, the boy continued on his way, arriving at the tallest building in the academy, surrounded by boys and girls alike, and finally pointing.

—"This is the Administrative Office, but everyone calls it the meat grinder."— Hades glances at the hundreds of kids surrounding the building...

Elrick points at the kids. —"They all do all sorts of tasks, missions, and various activities to earn the necessary points, always looking for ways to stay in the academy. Most of them have bad or very bad talents."—

—"Wow, those kids really have it tough."— Hades mutters under his breath.

"Don't even mention it. If they do anything beyond their abilities, they're just asking for an early death. That's why they avoid dungeons or planes.."— After his comment, Elrick smiles and points to other kids further ahead with different street stalls. —"They have a common talent and usually sell things that kids with more talents don't typically need."— Hades looks at some items at one or two stalls, 1st rank monster spiritual cores.

Elrick takes his arm and leads him inside the building. —"Don't waste your time with that kind of garbage, the best stuff is inside."—

At the entrance, there are six double doors through which students are constantly coming and going. They both enter through a pair of double glass doors and walk several meters to the center.

In front of them are several reception areas arranged in a semicircle, staffed by instructors.

Elrick points to the reception area on his right. —"That's the missions area."—

The place is laid out like a fast-food counter. At the reception area, there are three or four people working, a cashier on either side, and behind them the person in charge.

—"In this place, you can receive or give missions depending on your rank, and the higher your rank, the better the missions pay."— Hades looks around, trying to memorize everything.

—"As long as you have the points, you can order any kind of mission you can think of, no matter how crazy or stupid it sounds."—

Then he points to the next counter. —"That one's for buying or selling all sorts of things at standard prices. It works like a general store. If you want to get extra points for your items, you can sell outside, but only if you pay the market fee before setting up your stall."—

Then he moves on to the other shelves. —"Weapons and armor, herbs and potions, and last but not least, the administration office.

Need a specific tutor, extra classes, uniforms, leave, or accommodation.? This is the place."—

Then Elrick points to the missions shelf again. —"Remember, that's for everything outside the academy, and the Administrative Office this is for everything inside."—

Hades points to five different panels above the missions shelf. —"What is that.?"—

Elrick smiles and shakes his head. —"Your rank is very low, and it doesn't make sense for you to know about the portals to those worlds and the top lists."—

Hades wasn't entirely convinced, but with no other option, he ends up nodding.

—"Alright, let's go get your uniform and have your shared room assigned. By the way, if you want better housing, you can pay a certain number of points per month as rent."— Hades had no intention of living with other students and even less so since he already has all the points he needs..

When both boys arrive at the reception desk, Hades simply scans the holo-watcher and the attendant, seeing the new boy, frowns even more. —"Okay, kid, you're entitled to two casual uniforms for your respective classes and one gym uniform. If you want additional uniforms, they cost 20 points each."— Hades nods and immediately orders five casual uniforms and three gym uniforms..

The clerk's frown on the other side area was immediately replaced by a friendly smile. —"Shoes, sneakers, slippers, sandals, pajamas—they're 5 points each, but let me know if you need any."— Hades took two of each.

—"Alright, it's time to get to the important stuff."— The clerk said, pulling out a map followed by several pictures of different types of rooms with their respective rents.

From single and double rooms, to shared houses, apartments with one, two, or three bedrooms, studios, one or two patios, terraces, pools, jacuzzis, parking, and even their own barns...

Prices ranged from 1 to 2 points for the simplest rooms to 2,000 points for all the amenities.

Hades opted for a residential house, avoiding the mansion since it would be too big for his liking. —"The academy can randomly assign 5 to 10 workers, but their salaries are your responsibility, or you can bring or request your own workers from the mission board."— Pointing to the reception area on the other side, the clerk finished. —"Just remember that any dishonest act committed by anyone outside this academy is your responsibility."—

After saying this, the clerk took out a wooden box, and upon opening it, 50 different rings appeared. —"According to the rules, you're entitled to receive a 5-meter Inter-Space Bag at no cost."— With that, the clerk took out a brown bag and placed it on the counter.

—"But all these beauties have capacities of 10, 20, 40, 80, and 160 cubic meters, ranging from 100 to 1600 contribution points."—

Hades pointed to the ring with the largest capacity under Elrick's watchful gaze.

Hades looked at the boy beside him and pointed to the box. —"Take whichever ring you want."— Without a word, Elrick takes the 40-cubic-meter ring.

Hades ended up spending over 5,000 points, and before leaving, Elrick points to a secluded spot. —"Use your ring to store uniforms and other items, and also to change your clothes, or you'll keep having problems."— Hades simply nods and goes into the restrooms.

The uniform gave the boy a simpler appearance, to the point where both boys go unnoticed as they walk among the crowd of students entering and leaving the building. —"Come on, it's time to go and see your new home. By the way, if you have room for a cook and a maid, I know the perfect people for the job."—

—"Regarding that, what do you think? Should I hire workers or get my own people?"— Hades asked...

—"Hire,"— Elrick replied instantly, adding, —"Those hired are bound by a magical document, and these people know their job inside and out. With anyone else, you'll just be wasting your time. If you want, you can bring one or two family members, but you must have enough space."—
