Before leaving the meat grinder. (The Administration Office.) An alarm blared throughout the building, and a voice crackled over the school's PA system: (All healers, report to Dungeon #3. All available healers, report to Dungeon #3.)
—"What's that.?"— Hades asked curiously.
Elrick, standing next to him, heard the announcement a second and third time before shrugging. —"Who knows.?"— He commented initially, then thought for a moment. —"Maybe something went wrong, or someone's hurt, though the latter seems more likely, and the medical staff is overwhelmed, so they need healers."—
—"There are over 10,000 students here, and only 20 medical staff members.."— Elrick nodded and added. —"Obviously, the incident is beyond our capacity.."—
After Elrick's comment, he asks the boy, —"Do you want to go watch or go help?"— Hades paused, silently pondering the question.
Seeing the doubt on Hades' face, Elrick finally says,. —"If you go, don't expect to get many points. Those kids barely have enough to survive. Although the medical staff will attend to the most seriously injured, preventing deaths, the others don't care, especially the students. The less competition, the better the results.."—
—"Don't you think that's cruel.?"— Hades says, somewhat indignant.
In response, Elrick makes a face that he manages to disguise as a smile and shakes his head, letting out a deep, sorrowful sigh.— "Come on, kid, let's go to dungeon number 3."— Hades nods and scans the route on his Holo-Watcher, but this time Elrick doesn't follow the map and leads him down a longer route.
The difference is barely a 5-minute, but both boys enter a plaza surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and shops.
What's striking about this place is the sheer number of girls and boys; they're all good-looking, with three times as many women as men. —"They're all known as the disposables, the one-timers, or, if you want to be more derogatory, trophy girlfriends."—
At this point, Hades frowns. —"Trophy girlfriends."—
Elrick nods and continues. —"People who only offer their company in exchange for points. You need friends, companions, or fleeting friendships.."—
The boy gestures around the plaza. —"They have no talent, no cultivo, and they only rely on their beauty; in short, they bring nothing to the table."—
—"You're talking about escorts.."—
—"In theory, yes, but prostitution for hire is prohibited, penalized, and punished here, and its consequences can even extend beyond these walls. Being stigmatized for something so basic isn't worth it... Before you think that knowing this is too vague."— Elrick points to his Holo-watcher.
—"You're talking about a Utopian society..."—
Elrick smiles happily, realizing that no matter how talented Hades is, there are always things he obviously doesn't know. —"This system only applies within the Academy. Outside, the Holo-watchers are easily manipulated..."—
—"It's fine to go there looking for friends or a couple of girlfriends, but never expect them to help you in a dungeon or accompany you to explore a world or some plane."— As they leave the plaza, the boys see a group of students running toward a specific location.
From that distance, they could see the chaos: girls and boys running around like headless chickens. —"There are more than 400 kids there,."— Elrick remarks, pointing at the crowd.
—"Come on, let's see.,"— Hades said before walking the remaining distance until he could clearly hear the screams and cries and see boys and girls in bloodied, torn, or completely battered uniforms.
Hades's hand was already beginning to glow with a yellow light. —"Damn, you can heal too,"— Elrick said in amazement. Hades nodded and approached the first boy, who had several wounds—different sword cuts all over his body.
—"Wait, Hades, wait. You have to alert the medical staff first, then you can help,"— Elrick said.
Hades shook his head. —"Nah, I'm just practicing my healing ability. I don't expect to get many points for this."— With that, he focused his hands on the boy's back and began casting healing spell after healing spell.
In less than 10 seconds, he had closed the first of the five wounds the boy had all over his body. —"I'll go process your permit."— Elrick commented, pointing to a table where a nurse was handing out forms.
Being among the first to arrive, there aren't many people helping; the line of students at the table is practically nonexistent.
Elrick takes 5 to 10 minutes to return with a token in his hand, but Hades has already healed three students and is about to finish with the fourth.
Before performing his fourth healing, a woman between 21 and 22 years old approaches the duo shouting, —"No, no, no, stop, boy, stop!"— Both Hades and Elrick look at the shouting woman; she's wearing a long olive-green dress with a white apron and cap.
Before speaking, Hades looks at Elrick and mutters under his breath, —"Who is it.?"— Hades doesn't ask quietly enough, because the woman immediately clears her throat and speaks with rising pride, puffing out her chest. —"I'm part of the Student Healing Team."—
Elrick rolls his eyes after hearing the girl's words and immediately shakes his head, even wrinkling his nose as if he smells something awful. —"Forget it, kid, it's not worth talking about."— With that, Elrick pats Hades on the back and continues, —"Go on, carry on with what you were doing."—
The girl frowns at his comment. —"Hey...!!! That was rude.."— She complains, trying to start an argument, but Elrick ignores her and immediately tries to walk away. The girl follows him, and in response, he gestures to Hades,. [ "Keep going, keep going, don't stop, I'll take care of her."] Hades nods and continues healing the students.
Amidst the shouting and arguments, Hades learns that the month's test inside the dungeon went badly, and the team of 400 students was overwhelmed by an army of Goblins.
The Goblins were led by a Great Warrior who attacked the instructors leading the group. Being new to this type of battle, the students' main defensive lines collapsed immediately, and their retreat was utter chaos.
In short, the students, seeing the fight, threw down their weapons and turned away. The least injured students were the ones who ran the fastest. Upon learning this, Hades immediately entered the crowd to search for the most wounded students.
As Hades moved through the crowd, he healed more and more students, treating everything from small cuts and bruises to large gashes covering entire areas.
Thankfully, the Goblins weren't strong, and most of the wounds, though large, were superficial thanks to the overlapping healing techniques he employed. A large wound took less than five seconds to close, leaving the students weak but out of danger of bleeding to death.
Hades' healing abilities were so remarkable that he managed to heal over 60% of the 456 students injured in the battle. Meanwhile, the girl continued arguing with Elrick to the side.
When the student support group arrived, the situation was completely under control. —"It's done, you can let her go now,"— Hades said.
Elrick, in response, sighed and shouted at the top of his lungs at the girl who wouldn't stop talking. —"Get away from me!"— After repeating the phrase five to seven times, Elrick's shouts attracted the attention of nearby students.
The girl's embarrassment grew as she was being watched, and with no other option, she decided to walk away, but not before approaching one of the supervisors and pointing at the pair.
—"Okay, guys, what's going on.?"— the supervisor asked.
Without saying anything, Elrick asked Hades for his healing record token and then handed it to the supervisor to save time.
—"Here, we're leaving,"— The boy said, still annoyed, grabbing Hades' arm as he walked away. "Come on, it's time to go check on your house, unless you want to keep talking to these people."—
Hades immediately nods up and accompanied the boy.
The supervisor looked at the token in her hand with some suspicion and even sighed a few times, sensing her frustration.
Since those boys are volunteers, she couldn't stop the two boys and give them a lecture. —"Alright, let's see what those two did.,"— The she supervisor said, heading straight to the emergency station to check the token , while the girl followed closely behind.
Each treatment had a base cost of 10 points per wound, and major wounds cost between 20 and 50 points depending on their size.
Hades managed to treat 3 to 7 wounds per person, with a total of 270 students, not counting major injuries.
Estimating a total of 13,500 contribution points in less than 30 minutes.
Upon seeing the number, both the attendant's and the girl's legs buckled to the point where they both had to find a foothold or risk falling flat on their backsides. —"Give me your card,"— the attendant said to the girl beside her.
The girl, her face flushed with embarrassment, handed her card to the attendant.
[0 healings]
—"They distracted me."— the girl said defensively, adding, —"That boy's healing count must have been altered.."—
The attendant looked at her again as if she were an idiot, and instead of refuting her brilliant comment, pointed at the students behind her. —"You blind oryou just plain stupid.?"— This time, the girl lowered her head, pouting..
—"Now stay here, Janeth. Just avoid embarrassing your mother any further."— With that, the woman turned around and called her husband on her holo-watch. —"Gerald, you're busy."—
—"No, what's wrong.?"— The instructor's voice asked on the other end of the call.
—"Nothing important, I just want to know when the new students start classes.."— The woman asked.
—"If all goes well, they all start tomorrow, but there's one boy who stands out from the rest. He started 10 minutes after the fifth exam.."— The instructor said excitedly, adding., —"But if you really want to know the craziest thing, that boy already knows five spells, and one of them is healing. By the way, if you see him, befriend him, because he's already friends with Principal Alexandra and her sister Samantha, and even Superintendent Alastor helps fight his summons."—
—"Even that old guy."— The head nurse commented in surprise, looking at the girl who was listening silently.
—"I'll send you his picture along with his information.,"— Instructor Gerald said.

After passing the apartment buildings, they continue through several sections of houses entire blocks of prefabricated homes—and as the duo advances, the houses become larger and larger.
Until both boys are stopped by A gate in the middle of the street and some guards approach. —"Sorry guys, you have to go back, this is a private subdivision."—
Elrick smiles and looks at Hades.
Hades, for his part, nods and shows the guards at the entrance the screen of his Holo-watcher.
One of the guards checks the screen, then verifies the data on his own Holo-watcher.
[Accepted..]
The screen lights up in a green tone and the other guard opens the gate. —"We've confirmed you live here, sorry guys, since you came on foot, we never thought..."—
—"Don't worry, they're just doing their job."— Hades comments, as he enters the subdivision followed by Elrick. After greeting the two guards, the boys continue on their way.
After passing nine residential houses, in front of the gated entrance of house number 10, both boys stop and Elrick points to a section on the door.
Hades scans the screen and they both enter the house with just a few taps.
Steps inside.
Elrick, after seeing the front yard, comments, —"Now I see why he needs 10 workers."—
—"Let's see what's inside,"— Hades replies and heads for the entrance. Elrick points to the stables.— "Vehicles are rare at the academy because of the difficulty of refueling them, so horses and carriages are used for short or long distances."—
With that, they both enter the residential house where the service bathroom is larger than his bedroom, and even the staff quarters are much nicer than his own.
The house has a foyer, living room, full kitchen, dining room, study, swimming pool, two patios, attic, basement, and 10 staff rooms.
On the second floor: a master bedroom and 7 bedrooms. .
Two of which are guest rooms, each with its own bathroom.
Only the master bedroom has a jacuzzi, bathtub, shower, toilet, sink, vanity, and closet, all within the same bathroom.
Elrick is fascinated and even wanders around the house a few more times, while Hades, checking his Holo-watcher, noticed something that no one else had mentioned: —"Hey, Elrick, who's going to give the opening speech..?"—
—"The first to cultivate and successfully reach the first stage..,"— The boy replies and continues, —"By the way, according to the academy's rules, you can't pay contribution points to people outside this institution, only students who work as employees."—
—"I think it would be better if you handled those matters,"— Hades says.
—"Okay, but you have to give me two or three job openings.,"— Elrick replies.
"They're all yours. You can call if you need points or gold coins to pay their dues,."— He says, pointing to his holo-watcher. With that, Hades says goodbye to Elrick and walks toward the academy's exit.
Hades no longer wanted to return to his afternoon training ,because the boy was 100% sure he would run into the headmistress Alexandra or her sister she, Samantha.
He anticipated what would happen by midday at the latest.
